Chaos erupted when thousands of teenage fans of the Mexican pop group RBD flooded a Wal-Mart during an autograph session Thursday afternoon in East El Paso.
RBD, or Rebelde (Rebel), a singing group of young men and women starring in a hit telenovela, were to perform Thursday night at the El Paso County Coliseum.
The huge crowd – estimated to be as large as 6,000 people – grew out of the control of a squad of security guards, eventually leading to the deployment 0f 69 police units from throughout El Paso, police said.
