Saturday's COVID update from the Minnesota Department of Health includes 31 new deaths and more than 1,500 new cases.
The newly reported deaths – which includes one person aged 30-34 from Scott County, and bring the state's total to 6,063 over the course of the pandemic. Of those deaths, 63.6% (3,853) were residents of long-term care, including 17 of the 31 reported Saturday.
Meanwhile, through Jan. 20, the state reported that 229,163 people have received at least 1 dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, while 59,715 people have completed both doses of vaccine that are required for the vaccines' full effect.
