Henderson County has reported 59 new cases this week.
An earlier death of a Henderson County resident was attributed to COVID after a state audit of death certificates, raising the total to 76 in the county. A previously reported death of an Ohio County resident was determined not to be COVID-related.
Despite the spike in cases, Henderson County dropped from the "red" or critical level to the "orange" or accelerated level on the state's incidence rate map on Thursday. The incidence rate, which measures the average daily cases per 100,000 population over the past seven days, dropped to 17.7 as of Thursday afternoon in the county. Webster County and Union County remained in the "yellow" or community spread level with incidence rates of 9.9 and 6.0, respectively.
