STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Oh no!
At 7:25 a.m. Tuesday, Punxsutawney Phil crawled out of his tree stump, looked around, saw his shadow and called for six more weeks of winter.
It was the 106th time he predicted more winter on Groundhog Day.
While tens of thousands of people traditionally travel to Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney, Pa., to watch Phil, this year’s ceremony was closed to the public due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Instead, everyone watched on the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club’s website.
