Staff in Greenville County Schools will be able to receive their first doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine on March 18 through a large-scale clinic, South Carolina's largest school district announced Wednesday.
Tim Waller, a spokesperson for the district, said staff will need to make appointments and will be split up between two dates to receive their first doses. The second date for vaccines is tentatively set for March 22.
The shots will be administered all day on both dates at Woodmont High School and Greer High School. The district is partnering with Bon Secours Health System to administer the vaccines.
Students will have eLearning on both days so staff can be vaccinated. Waller said the district wasn't able to schedule the vaccine clinics on March 19 — a student holiday — because it is a professional development day, which is a requirement for teachers.
