Green spending must double to meet emissions targets, report warns

The government needs to double its spending on environmental measures to meet its 2030 emissions target, analysis has found.
Think tank Green Alliance said that current plans to spend £21.2bn per year on green measures until 2024 would need to rise by £22.7bn, with more money needed to fund walking and cycling infrastructure and encourage uptake of electric cars.
