Greek authorities want to avoid new migration route to settle between Libya and Crete

Since the beginning of 2024, over 1,500 migrants, mostly Egyptians from Libya, have landed on the islet of Gavdos, south of Crete. Athens hopes to be able to rely on Cairo's cooperation to halt this phenomenon.
