Government can't prove biomass industry meets sustainability rules, National Audit Office says

The government "cannot demonstrate" that biomass generators are complying with sustainability rules, the National Audit Office says, raising questions about future subsidies and climate goals. The energy department says it is already exploring stricter criteria.
