Derry Glenn, 6th Ward Lima Councilman, announced plans Sunday for this year’s MLK Jr. march and awards. “I don’t care if we have five people walking, we’re still going to walk,” Glenn said. “It’s very important that we do this with the way things are going right now.”
LIMA — This year’s Martin Luther King Junior activities will be a bit different, according to 6th Ward Councilman Derry Glenn, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Everything has been changed now. This was our 39th annual MLK banquet. What we will be doing this year on Jan. 18, we will have our annual march to start from the Whittier School site into Martin King Park. We will start at 2 p.m. We will be doing our awards presentation at 1 p.m. (also at the Whittier School site).
