Dauphin County Court Appointed Special Advocates launched a donate-to-decorate “Giving Tree” Dec. 1 in Lower Paxton Township.
Three weeks later, the tree is adorned with colorful ornaments, garland, packages and lights, all symbolizing the individual and corporate donations that have been made.
Tonight’s event at American Legion Robert H. Hoke Post 272 revealed that the giving campaign has so far raised more than $12,000 to support advocacy on behalf of foster children in the county. In any given month, nearly 400 children in Dauphin County reside in foster care settings.
