Stacy and Witbeck keeps all teams, public safe during project’s construction
The Gideon Street Overcrossing was designed to provide access for pedestrians and cyclists above the Union Pacific Railroad and TriMet light rail tracks, restoring an important connection in Southeast Portland’s Hosford-Abernethy neighborhood that was eliminated by construction of the Orange MAX line.
Stacy and Witbeck Inc.’s work included erecting a 142-foot structural steel span weighing 100,000 pounds and spanning three sets of light rail tracks and two sets of freight tracks. Work also involved erecting four prefabricated, weathering steel towers, two weathering steel stairways, tower glazing and two elevators.
