And thats his free speech. Right. To do so. Trying speech. Right. To do so. Trying to that is beyond to criminalise that is beyond anything that us law does. Anything that us law does. This Carbon Capture and storage. This after the pm announced plans to grant hundreds of new oil and gas licences here in the uk. Grant shapps says we will still meet net zero targets. Despite that pledge. I think everyone supports this countrys transition to net zero, but you cannot get there by telling people were simply going to stop , stop using oil and gas. Stop, stop using oil and gas. Well, at the only way to do that would be to tell people, dont put your gas boiler on, dont put your gas boiler on, dont drive a petrol car and do that almost instantaneously unless you do that. What youre really saying is, oh, were not going to our oil and gas going to dig our own oil and gas , import it instead. And , well import it instead. And thats basically policy thats basically labours policy on this. And the problem with importing comes with importing it is it comes with four times amount of four times the amount of embedded carbon. Embedded carbon. Well, labour doesnt support new oil and gas licences. Shadow womens and equalities secretary Anneliese Dodds explained their position. Position. Fewer licences have already been agreed. Patrick well, i dont know about you , but i absolutely refuse to believe that illegal channel migrants are actively hiring lawyers to block them. Being put on the bibby stockholm barge. Lawyers representing people who have received transfer notices in hotels have sent a volley of legal letters to the government, arguing that the barge is unsuitable for them. Whos paying unsuitable for them. Whos paying for these lawyers . Is it Charity Groups like care for calais . I mean, their website says that they help with access to legal support. Is it the taxpayer lawyers who will take on those cases . Because they know that there is a decent chance of success . That is the way that our legal system is set up. Unfortunately but why is there such a decent chance of success . Are they honest or are they lying to get false claims through . Well lets have a little look at who some of these lawyers are. Shall we . The solicitors watchdog has just closed three law firms that were submitting false asylum claims in return for wads of cash. Some of these lawyers were offering fake doctors notes show fake doctors notes to show evidence of psychological trauma apart urgently, some Illegal Migrants are claiming that they cant go on the barge because theyve suffered trauma at sea. Well, im sorry, but this isnt the kind of claim that you would get from a genuine Asylum Seeker. In my view, this is lawyers getting hold of a situation and spinning it. Well, why . Why would they do that . Could it be money . Well, one legal eagle caught up in a mail sting operation reportedly owns a multi Million Pound property empire with his wife, drives a bmw with a private reg on it, and sent his son to eton. So there is serious money in this, isnt there . Lets have a little isnt there . Lets have a little look at the other hold up today , too. The bibby barge, shall we . The Fire Brigades Union says its a disaster zone waiting to happen. Interesting did you know that the Fire Brigades Union is affiliated to the labour party . They re affiliated with it. When Jeremy Corbyn became labour leader. Apparently. Is there opposition to down political activism now . I am sick and activism now . I am sick and tired of the delays with the bibby stockholm. I can only imagine how rishi and suella feel when everything they try to do held up by what some do is held up by what some people might wonder could be a radical. Spiders web of left leaning political activists and financial legal charlatans. I financial legal charlatans. I think its time to go over their heads. Think its time to go over their heads. The sas needs to be heads. The sas needs to be deployed to take out these Human Trafficking gangs. That is one war that i wouldnt mind the taxpayers supporting. Its also time to actually stop the boats. And by that i mean stopping lorries loads of reinforced inflatable dinghies. Somehow, miraculously making their way across the entire continent of europe before getting to calais. How difficult is it really to stop them being manufactured . Stop them being manufactured . Should we say that we want to be world leading in everything . Dont we . Well, why dont we do the world a favour and be world leading in destroying Human Trafficking gangs. Trafficking gangs. Vaiews gbnews. Com. Im going to be taking a long, hard look at this situation today yet again. We woke up to another delay to the barge. The bibby stockholm barge. Didnt we . Im sick of it. Didnt we . Im just sick of it. Im sick of it. Mean, itll be im sick of it. I mean, itll be miraculous if anyone ever actually gets on that boat. I think , at this point. So im think, at this point. So im going having a look at why going to be having a look at why there of hold there are some of these hold ups. But assuming that everything being ups. But assuming that everythi as being ups. But assuming that everythi as well being ups. But assuming that everythi as well , being ups. But assuming that everythi as well, is being ups. But assuming that everythi as well, is it being ups. But assuming that everythi as well, is it time eing ups. But assuming that everythi as well, is it time t0|g blocked as well, is it time to go over the heads of people and start sending in the sas to crack down on these Human Trafficking gangs . Everybody seems to be against the Human Trafficking. Gangs dont they . Laboun trafficking. Gangs dont they . Labour, the lib dems. So surely we will very little we there will be very little opposition actually sending opposition to actually sending in military to go and slot in our military to go and slot them. As well them. What about as well actually physically stopping the manufacturing movements manufacturing and the movements of these boats the amount of of these boats for the amount of money in compensation you would have pay me to stop the have to pay me to stop the People Manufacturing these boats from doing so. Surely that would just a drop in the ocean just be a drop in the ocean compared are paying compared to what we are paying for people get those for the people who get on those boats come britain. But boats and come to britain. But im joined in the studio right now white, who of now by mark white, who is, of course, security course, our home and security edhon course, our home and security editor. Mark, i want to talk editor. And mark, i want to talk about something i mentioned a couple of minutes actually. Couple of minutes ago, actually. Obviously, be deployed on needed to be deployed on the human gangs. Can Human Trafficking gangs. We can start with that. I know that youve also been a bit youve also been doing a bit of digging this digging around into this allegation a certain left allegation of a certain left wing upon recently wing influences upon recently holding up with our asylum system. I think theres certainly some real concern in government circles that there is a push, a concerted push by groups on the left to do all they can to stop the governments plans to move Asylum Seekers away from hotels at a cost of. £6 million a day. At a cost of. £6 million a day. And then to more centralised , and then to more centralised, more basic accommodation likes of barges like the bibby stockholm or indeed the former military bases at wethersfield and scampton. Because really at and scampton. Because really at every attempt to do this, there is another push either by, of course, Fire Brigades Union. One of the latest now to come out and say that this is a death trap, that the government is being highly irresponsible here. Also concerns from charities, from lawyers , as those from lawyers, as those representing migrant groups say , saying that the bibby stockholm is just too dangerous to be able to house these us migrants. Now, ive been on board. I was on board just recently, taken on a tour of the bibby stockholm in terms of the conditions inside , it is conditions inside, it is perfectly comfortable. The perfectly comfortable. The various cabins are roomy. The bafic various cabins are roomy. The basic level of decoration in. But you know, theres en suite bathrooms, theres storage for clothing and the like. Theyve clothing and the like. Theyve got more amenities than you get in hotels in terms of there being a tv recreation room , being a tv recreation room, gyms, computer rooms, outside areas, you just come across the channel. Mark if you just come across the channel and you just come from various different Asylum Seeker hellhole hotspots on the continent, and youd had the french authorities ripping down your tent in the calais jungle or dunkirk and you cram yourself onto one of these boats despite, of course, suffering massive trauma at sea. And then you land in the uk and someone says to you, do you want to spend a bit of time on this barge . You would say, yes, i am. Convince that this is not the Asylum Seekers of their own volition. Now stoking up these legal claims. Yeah, and youre seeing it literally at every turn in terms of what the government is trying to do to move away from Hotel Accommodation and to try to centralise them either on the barge or the bases or the plan that was announced just a few days ago with regard to getting these marquees that could potentially house up to 2000 people again , people were people again, people were outraged by that , describing it outraged by that, describing it as concentration camp type conditions. But yet the united nafions conditions. But yet the United Nations high commissioner for refugees, the charities themselves use these very tents and tents that are probably not as highly you know, the specifications are not as high as the ones that are to going use in manston. The government. And theyre never meant to be long Term Accommodation like they are in jordan or turkey , they are in jordan or turkey, where theyve been for ten years, living in these tents. Theyre only there for a few weeks. Exactly. Look, mark, thank you very, very much. Mark white there. Insecurity editor. There. Home insecurity editor. We are going to be discussing that throughout the course of this show. The bibby barge, the fire hazard , the fire brigade fire hazard, the Fire Brigade Union with their union coming out with their affiliated to the labour party is motivation affiliated to the labour party is we motivation affiliated to the labour party is we have motivation affiliated to the labour party is we have just itivation affiliated to the labour party is we have just seen on affiliated to the labour party is we have just seen a there. We have just seen a recent sting operation by the daily mail actually, which revealed categorically that there is a cash in hand Cottage Industry going on from certain law firms where they will basically try to blag peoples asylum claims and they will do so very successfully. One chap was filmed boasting that hes managed to get a 90 success rate. You would of course have to slip him ten grand, which again is have you got ten grand going . Spare do these people sound like genuine Asylum Seekers . Were going to be having at some of having a look at some of the behind the scenes, spiders behind the scenes, the spiders web of political and financial and leaning lawyers and and left leaning lawyers and activists. Cetera. But in activists. Et cetera. But in light of the fact that those people do exist and they appear to be very well ingrained in our society, there anything else society, is there anything else we can do to just go above their heads and this migrant heads and stop this migrant crisis . Am now by crisis . I am joined now by former British Army Officer henry boulton. Henry thank you very much. Great have you on very much. Great to have you on the it look the show. What would it look like to send the sas in to smash these Human Trafficking gangs . Because from where im sitting, henry, everybody would agree with that. The labour party , with that. The labour party, they vote against the illegal migration bill, but what they want, we need to be stronger with trafficking with the Human Trafficking gangs. In, them i uh, yes, patrick, i mean, there are there is a role for special forces in removing, disrupting, destroying organised criminal networks and just lets just think about it for a moment. The really, there are three parts to this whole thing. One is reducing the flow and taking on the people smugglers abroad is part of that. Then abroad is part of that. Then there are the theres the actual process from the point at which these people approach our borders. The whole processing of borders. The whole processing of their claims and so on. And then theres the accommodation side. But focusing the, the but focusing on the, the disruption part, if somebody coming from, i dont know, lets say from sudan, theyre coming up through africa, through the sahel up through africa, through the sahel, through the maghreb, into nonh sahel, through the maghreb, into north africa, across the channel north africa, across the channel, across the mediterranean, through the european union, to the north french coast. There are numerous there are a multitude of points along that route at which we can interdict and disrupt that movement. It is facilitated by organised crime. Now, i say that organised crime. Now, i say that not from an academic point of view, but from the point of view that i was running those sort of operations between 2003 and 2006, in the southern balkans, and we were actively going after organised criminal networks. We were arresting them, we were kicking in doors, we were arresting them across the southern balkans and it had an impact. Tony blair pulled the funding of that for that in march 2006. It can be done now. March 2006. It can be done now. To do that, you have to mobilise not just special forces , but you not just special forces, but you have to mobilise the intelligence capacities that weve got as a nation in that particular case, we had 12 Government Agencies all working in unison in a coordinated manner to ensure that we actually had an effect. So they were was the pointy end of the spean were was the pointy end of the spear. If you like, with all of that resource behind me. I was able to do electronic intelligence. I was able to do surveillance sort of mark one eyeball surveillance. I was eyeball surveillance. I was working with local Law Enforcement and intelligence agencies, something that had been facilitated by the then foreign and Commonwealth Office , and it was highly effective. , and it was highly effective. And in terms of budget covering, four countries cost £300,000 and it was having a massive impact. So why pull the funding on that . In 2006 where you need to get tony blair on to ask him that question . Why dont we reinstate it now . I think now there is the lack of political courage to do that. Theres lack of that. Theres the lack of knowledge, skill and forward leaning of proactiveness on leaning sort of proactiveness on the the Foreign Office. The part of the Foreign Office. Theres lack knowledge theres the lack of knowledge and the home and experience in the home office know that probably office to know that probably that it till that even we were doing it till 2006 and there is not the leadership at the top of government to drive the whole machinery happen. Machinery to make it happen. Sometimes to ask to answer specifically to the point some times there is a case when people Smuggling Networks are connected to fundamentalists and terrorist networks. I know that. I know that first hand and in such a case, when the risk elevates to a certain point , elevates to a certain point, then there is a role for actually local Law Enforcement in the countries concerned. Perhaps supported by our own special forces, to actually take tactical action against them. Now that has happened in the past as far as i know. Its not happening now. Why not . That lack of political will. Patrick thats all i can put it down to. Henry thank you very, very much for that. I mean, it was a fantastic speech there really, about fact that it can be about the fact that it can be done. We to have the done. We used to have the capacity. We used to the capacity. We used to have the capacity. We used to have the capacity to do something similar. Think another similar. I think thats another interesting well, interesting bit of it as well, because sent the sas because where that sent the sas in plan down in the minds in plan falls down in the minds of is, well, what do of some people is, well, what do we just fly them we do . We cant just fly them into what we we do . We cant just fly them into for what we we do . We cant just fly them into for a what we we do . We cant just fly them into for a start, what we we do . We cant just fly them into for a start, but what we we do . We cant just fly them into for a start, but whwere we do . We cant just fly them into for a start, but whwe can can for a start, but also we can work with the local authorities in those countries is aided by our special forces to go and our own special forces to go and get the job done. And i think that really is really is a good solution. Quickly, henry solution. On quickly, henry patrick, key thing patrick, the key the key thing there is that we lack a national strategy. The Foreign Office is not connected sufficiently to the home office. The Home Office Home office. The home office isnt connected well enough with the of defence. Whats the ministry of defence. Whats neededis the ministry of defence. Whats needed is a national level. Borders coordinator who has the experience and knowledge to pull all this together and make it happen. Under the Prime Ministers direction. Thats whats needed , not one ministry whats needed, not one ministry and i dont think therell be too much opposition to it. Think therell be too i dont think therell be too much. Couldnt be much. I mean there couldnt be because can see, because as far as i can see, labour dems, theyre labour and the lib dems, theyre only all we need only policy. This is all we need to on the human to be tougher on the human traffickers. Many were traffickers. How many were going have to park it there, traffickers. How many were goi|friend. Ave to park it there, traffickers. How many were goi|friend. Imto park it there, traffickers. How many were goi|friend. Im sorry, it there, traffickers. How many were goi|friend. Im sorry, butthere, traffickers. How many were goi|friend. Im sorry, but thats my friend. Im sorry, but thats all weve got. But all the time that weve got. But i you about i could talk to you about this all henry the all day. Henry bolton, the former British Army Officer. Look, start look, fascinating way to start the show. Make sure your views keep in. Donald trump has been charged with trying to defraud the United States. Hes responded by saying states. Hes responded by saying that hes being persecuted in a style reminiscent of germany. So im going to be talking about that very , very shortly. Patrick that very, very shortly. Patrick christys on gb news. Its britains channel welcome back. Channel welcome back. In just a few minutes time, i will discuss plans to give first time shoplifters a caution rather than prosecute them. The same goes apparently for drug dealers as well, by the way. And its just over a week since we were told that the wildfires in greece were a result of Climate Change. But now it turns out that apparently the vast majority of them started majority of them were started deliberately. So im having a deliberately. So im having a look at the climate scaremongering. But before all scaremongering. But before all of that, former us President Donald Trump has been accused of plotting to overturn his 2020 election defeat there. The most serious charges that he has faced so far, so hes accused of four counts of dishonesty , fraud four counts of dishonesty, fraud and deceit, including aiding conspiracy to defraud the United States. In response , trump says states. In response, trump says that hes being persecuted in a style reminiscent of germany. Style reminiscent of germany. The charges mark the end of an exhaustive investigation by special counsel jack smith into what happened before and during the riot at the us capitol on january sixth, 2021. Look lets just remind ourselves a little bit of what President Trump some of what President Trump said at the time. The time. All of us here today do not want to see our election victory stolen by a emboldened radical left. Democrats which is what theyre doing. And stolen by the Fake News Media. Thats what theyve done and what theyre doing. We will never give up. We will never concede. It doesnt will never concede. It doesnt happen. You dont concede when theres theft involved. Theres theft involved. Interesting, though, isnt it . Because. Yes. All right. He did say stuff like that. Is that an incitement to go on and try and do things . Some people would argue clearly, the argue . Well, clearly, in the case america , the would case of america, the law would argue it is. And then argue that, yes, it is. And then other people will point to other clips trump saying , clips of donald trump saying, look, down, cetera. Our look, stand down, et cetera. Our reporter paul hawkins us reporter paul hawkins joins us in studio. Joe, right now, in the studio. Joe, right now, so paul, trump is saying this is like something out of germany essentially , and he actually essentially, and he actually could face prison time. Could face prison time. And interestingly, you mentioned that there is that clip of him saying, you know, stand down, et cetera. And kind of urging peaceful riots. And that will form that probably will form the bafis that probably will form the basis the defence s as they basis of the defence s as they make various objections , which make various objections, which means dont know when this means we dont know when this could to trial. These are could come to trial. These are this is the third case now that hes been involved with. So we had the first case which was about allegations that he paid hush to money a star and really, those are those were new york state charges, though, essentially he bad bookkeeping, bad accounting for the way those expenses were recorded. And then expenses were recorded. And then youve got the more serious case that hes also been involved with, which is federal charges about leaving National Security documents, lying around his home in mar a lago in florida. Documents, lying around his home in mar a lago in florida. And in mar a lago in florida. And now youve got this very serious charge effectively what charge of effectively what theyre saying is that he was deceitful or dishonest. He lied about the election outcome in the two months leading up to when he from , of course, when we when he from, of course, when we had the election in november up to left the white house. To when he left the white house. And its a 45 page document, to when he left the white house. And its a 45 page document , the and its a 45 page document, the person whos leading it is what they call in the states a special counsel. Thats another word for independent investigator , although some may investigator, although some may argue that independent. Argue its not that independent. His jack smith. Its a his name is jack smith. Its a 45 page document. Theres a lot of detail in it. Just to read you some of the charges. And you some of the charges. So and the thing to note about this is that uk were used to that in the uk were used to when read these kind of when we read these kind of charges documents, the language is avoid is very neutral to avoid something contempt of something called contempt of court. Media report in a court. The media report in a very neutral way on it here in the states, they freedom of the states, they have freedom of speech enshrined their speech enshrined in their constitution. The constitution. And so the language is a little bit more heated. And so trumps this is heated. And so trumps this is in the allegations. Trumps message to the Justice Department when the acting attorney that attorney general told trump that the department could not the Justice Department could not and not change the outcome and would not change the outcome of trump allegedly of the election, trump allegedly responded , just say that the responded, just say that the election corrupt leave election was corrupt and leave the me and the the rest to me and the republican he to republican party. He was said to have pressured the Vice President , pence, into not president , mike pence, into not certifying results of the certifying the results of the election. The Vice President apparent , according to election. The Vice President apparent, according to this document, responded that he thought there no thought there was no constitutional basis for such authority it was authority and that it was improper. So the allegation is that the vice that trump then told the Vice President , youre just too honest and finally, there honest. And then finally, there are Co Conspirator was are six Co Conspirator was mentioned document and mentioned in this document and this is on voting fraud in arizona. When the Arizona House speaker again asked for evidence , Co Conspirator one responded with words to the effect of we dont have the evidence, but we have lots of theories. Now, donald trump denies the allegations. And this is what allegations. And this is what jack smith, the special counsel, had to say about about what donald trump in this case, my office will seek a speedy trial. So that our evidence can be tested in court and judged by a jury tested in court and judged by a jury of citizens. Tested in court and judged by a jury of citizens. In the meantime, i must emphasise is that the indictment is only an allegation and that the defendant must be presumed innocent until Proven Guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. Court of law. So hes tweeted on i say tweeted. Hes posted a message on his social media platform, truth, in which he said hes never had so much support. Hes thanking everyone. Its all in capital letters. Hes called it capital letters. Hes called it an unprecedented indictment of a former brackets, highly successful president s. And he says that these charges have awoken the world to the Corruption Scandal and failure. Thats taken place in the us. Donald trump, the first ever former president to be charged with anything , could be in the with anything, could be in the weird position where next year. And he said that if hes and he said that even if hes convicted, will continue to convicted, he will continue to campaign. Could have campaign. So we could have someone kind victed of someone whos kind victed of criminal potentially criminal offences potentially serving a jail term still campaigning and then potentially could be come president and be in prison. But a president and were in totally uncharted territory. We are, because the Founding Fathers who made the Us Constitution thought that the president would be so squeaky clean. We dont even need to mention constitution. What mention the constitution. What would if there were would happen if there were criminal in criminal charges. So were in completely criminal charges. So were in compandy criminal charges. So were in compand whether it an here. And whether it has an impact election in the impact on the election in the main us electorate , not the main us electorate, not the republican base, they love him. Republican base, they love him. Remains seen. Remains to be seen. Stuff, thank you lovely stuff, paul. Thank you very, very much. Paul hawkins, there the studio. There joining us in the studio. Fascinating, isnt it . A messy business, american politics, especially in light of some of the being lobbed joe the allegations being lobbed joe bidens well. Theres bidens way as well. Theres loads more still to come between now and 4 00. Discuss the now and 4 00. I will discuss the news that first time shoplifters and drug dealers might not even end up in court. Whats going on there . But right is your there . But right now is your headunes there . But right now is your headlines. Headlines with ray addison. Thanks, patrick. 3 31. Heres the latest. Donald trump, whos the latest. Donald trump, whos facing four new criminal charges, will appear in court tomorrow. Hes accused of conspiring to defraud the us by preventing congress from certifying joe bidens victory after the 2020 election. Labour supporting unions have been accused of attempting to block the use of the bibby stockholm barge to house Asylum Seekers , a barge to house Asylum Seekers, a government source describing it as a betrayal of our country and the british people after the Fire Brigades Union said it would write to the home office over overcrowding and fire exit concerns. Gb news alex deakin here with your latest weather update from the met office for gb news. Remains pretty lively out it remains pretty lively out there. Blustery with gusty, gusty conditions in some places. Heavy thundery showers and met Office Warnings in place. Thanks to this, the deep area of low pressure named storm patricia by the French Weather Service because strongest winds are because the strongest winds are heading. Heading into northern france. But we are seeing some gusty conditions particularly conditions, particularly along the slow moving the south coast. Slow moving thundery showers over the heart of england and wales and more persistent rain over northeast england. Cause some england. All could cause some disruption. But all tending to ease as we go through the evening and overnight. Well keep some over northern keep some showers over northern scotland, but other places scotland, but many other places will become dry and well see a brighter day on thursday. The winds coming in north, winds coming in from the north, but strong. Plenty of but not as strong. Plenty of showers scotland showers for northern scotland and northern ireland. So actually here actually a wetter day here compared today. And see compared to today. And well see a scattering of showers across england through the england and wales through the day, as widespread, not day, but not as widespread, not as downpours as intense as todays downpours and a bit more in the way of brightness. But with the winds coming from the north, never going warm. Going to be particularly warm. Temperatures again, high teens, low at best. Fridays low 20s at best. Fridays a similar although it similar story, although it should drier for should be a drier day for northern and northern ireland, wales and southwest england. Not many showers here. Most of the showers here. Most of the showers friday. Course, showers on friday. Of course, these eastern parts of england where again , we could see 1 or where again, we could see 1 or 2 heavy ones, some good spells of sunshine for southwest scotland as with the as well. But again, with the breeze from the breeze coming down from the north, albeit easing its north, albeit easing down, its never be particularly never going to be particularly warm. Rain warm. And behind me, more rain gathering for further wet and windy weather to come at the weekend. For now. Weekend. Thats all for now. Goodbye looks like things are heating up. Boxed boilers proud sponsors up. Boxed boilers proud sponsors of weather on. Of weather on. Gb news. Well, yesterday transport minister Richard Holden called for prolific shoplifters to be jailed and today its emerged that people who commit the same crime might not even be prosecuted. Good stuff. Prosecuted. Good stuff. Shoplifting, drug possession and theft are among the types of crime that could lead to first time offenders. Getting a caution instead of being sent to court. And im joined now by court. And im joined now by simon hardy , who is a former simon hardy, who is a former senior investigating officer at the met police. Okay i mean, we have seen scenes in america of decimated walmarts and vast swathes of San Francisco because they basically decriminalised shoplifting. Are we about to experience this at the local co op . No no, i dont think so. Co op . No no, i dont think so. I mean, lets not forget, cautions have been there for years and years anyway. Weve been using them for many, years. And before it was a simple caution. Caution. If you admitted the offence and it was a first time offender and it was a first time offender and low , very low level, and it was low, very low level, there was a threshold , then you there was a threshold, then you could accept caution if you could accept the caution if you admitted it, if you didnt admit it, you would go to court. So and there would a trial. And and there would be a trial. And then those years, then in between those years, what weve got is weve very what weve got is weve got very muddled all different muddled with all the different other things that theyve brought which are brought in, um, which, which are out disposal an and, out of Court Disposal an and, you know, these are like warnings on the street penalty notices on the street for disorder for all those of disorder for all those sorts of things. What this like things. And what this looks like its is and it will get its done now is and it will get rid of all those and it will bnng a rid of all those and it will bring a two tier caution bring into a two tier caution system. But think think system. But i think i think youve to have little bit system. But i think i think yo faith to have little bit system. But i think i think yo faith in to have little bit system. But i think i think yo faith in this1ave little bit system. But i think i think yo faith in this because tle bit system. But i think i think yo faith in this because theret of faith in this because there will threshold. You know, will be a threshold. You know, when youre looking at those pictures people running pictures now of people running through, thats not typical through, thats not your typical kind that theyre kind of shoplifting that theyre going would get going to, that you would get a caution know, is caution for. You know, this is very so you would very different. So you would hope those my concern yeah, hope that those my concern yeah, my concern be that people my concern would be that people read and hear news stories like this. This. Now they add that to stories that came out yesterday, about 6 of crimes actually being taken through to their full conclusion in terms of prosecution, etcetera. And they prosecution, etcetera. And they think, well, i might as well go into what looks a lot like a currys or a pc world there and smash the living daylights out of it. Of it. Yeah, i mean, i agree with you. Its a really unpleasant trend that were seeing. You know, these things usually start in and then come across in america and then come across here because people think its a real, you a laugh real, you know, a good laugh and whatever away whatever else they can get away with. But, you know, this this is to be a separate is theres got to be a separate crackdown of crackdown on that kind of behaviour the moment. Behaviour at the moment. But this covers a this this system covers a multitude things where and as multitude of things where and as i said, the important thing is where is, where do where the threshold is, where do they threshold say, they put the threshold to say, well, suitable well, youre suitable for a caution or youre suitable caution or youre not suitable for to tier quite unique for this to tier quite unique kind of caution system that theyre bringing in. What about people involved in drug offences then . I mean, if drug offences then . I mean, if somebody is going out and buying drugs and theyve got away with it a thousand times and then the one time that they get stopped, the Police Officer says, all right, look, youve admitted it. Ill give you a caution. Well, then theyre just to, for then theyre just going to, for want phrase, crack want of a better phrase, crack on, arent they . On, arent they . Well, interesting as well, thats interesting as well, because because, you know, again , i dont like to swing the again, i dont like to swing the blue much. Years blue lamp too much. But years ago, would arrested ago, you would be arrested if you you. And then you had drugs on you. And then they this they brought in this notice where somebody where you could give somebody a nofice where you could give somebody a notice on the street, a cannabis warning, and you would dispose of the drugs in front of them down Something Like down a drain or Something Like that, know, and felt that, you know, and it felt very uncomfy for of officers to uncomfy for a lot of officers to be do that you be able to do that and, you know, that thats, you know, think that thats, you know, think that thats, you know, they have got away with it in way. But this in that kind of way. But this this what i what im this now what i what im slightly about is that slightly worried about is that patrick, is that we have now things like drugs where theyve got to admit the offence which means then be means they would then have to be arrested, which then means more work and that means now youre not dealing somebody on the not dealing with somebody on the street. Bring street. Youve got to bring them in. In in. Youve got the time in custody, officers off street custody, officers off the street to caution for what to get then a caution for what could be a very, very small amount of cannabis. You know, and unfortunately , its the and unfortunately, its the right thing to do. But it could this could create more work. This could create more work. Not better for us to is it not better for us to maybe just admit that our Police Forces are so completely and utterly overstretched, our courts have got a backlog thats too long. Our prisons are too full, and therefore , what were full, and therefore, what were really doing here is by borderline borderline decriminalising minor crimes. I dont think i still dont think its been decriminalised. Its been a its been around for a long time. Like i said, you know, caution systems a long time. Like i said, you knc ages caution systems a long time. Like i said, you kncages and caution systems a long time. Like i said, you kncages and ages. Aution systems a long time. Like i said, you kncages and ages. Youn systems a long time. Like i said, you kncages and ages. You know, ems for ages and ages. You know, theres there are some theres some there are some People Society do people in society who do sometimes warrant a caution. But there are others where weve weve watered it down much weve watered it down so much that you know, that should that that you know, that should should gone court that should have gone to court that didnt. And i think its where they threshold is it they put this threshold is it amount money. If you amount of money. You know if you if criminal damage is if you commit criminal damage is there threshold of £5000 or there a threshold of £5000 or £1000 or whatever it might be, you know, or is there a system there where they get a caution and they have to that person and they have to pay that person back think theres this is back . So i think theres this is just early framework just really the early framework of what this new caution system is. And i think its good because it takes away all those other little that they other Little Things that they created warnings and created to give warnings and tickets. But is it created to give warnings and tickets. But is it going to create more work for the police in the long run . Yeah potentially it is. But quite big on but im quite big on deterrent just dont look deterrent and i just dont look around and see that much of it now. Definitely now. I think there is definitely a cultural problem , by the a big cultural problem, by the way, noticed a shift way, that ive noticed a shift on this probably in the last 5 to 6 you being around the to 6 years. You being around the police force thoroughly may well have a different view. I dont know where. It appears me know where. It appears to me that people dont respect or fear the police or the law in the way that they used to. Do you think thats true . And if you think thats true . And if so, why . So, why . 100 think its true . Um, why 100 think its true . Um, why just a number of things, really. I think when you the punishments that are given out necessarily dont fit the crimes. I mean, you know , were still now you know, were still now talking about trying to get tough knife crime and, you tough on knife crime and, you know, its such a long know, and its taken such a long time that. Know, time to do that. You know, youre youre getting youre getting youre getting officers now who who are officers now who are who are being spat at, assaulted. And being spat at, assaulted. And then the way that those perpetrators are being dealt with doesnt give the support to the officers that they deserve. And therefore, you know, if you are attacking the police or whatever youre doing, then you should something that should have something that reflects that. Because otherwise, there is no otherwise, if there is no respect by those that commit crime against, you know, no fear of the police, not fear in that kind of way, but fear that you will but you know, if will be caught. But you know, if you dont have that, then it will start to break down because people then feel that they can get away with it. Right. Get away with it. All right. Okay. Simon, thank you okay. Look, simon, thank you very there is okay. Look, simon, thank you veryformer there is okay. Look, simon, thank you veryformer senior there is okay. We Different Solutions to we need Different Solutions to the migrant crisis because this we need Different Solutions to the m stockholmi because this we need Different Solutions to the m stockholmi becau it this we need Different Solutions to the m stockholmi becau it looks bibby stockholm barge, it looks as some lefty as though some lefty fire bngade as though some lefty Fire Brigade Union got involved Brigade Union has got involved and barge being used and stopped the barge being used for and safety grounds , for health and safety grounds, etcetera. Weve got a Cottage Industry crooked who industry of crooked lawyers who appear be coining it in now, appear to be coining it in now, making up bogus asylum claims. So its not working for us here. I was asking if we should send the sas in loads of response to that go that very, very that or go to that very, very shortly. Just quick one from shortly. Just one quick one from jacqui. So thank you very, battered with heavye uk has this done now. So thank you very, battered with heavy rain has been battered with heavy rain and winds today. So much and strong winds today. So much for those warning from so called experts that we were all going to burn to death. But im going to burn to death. But im going to be having a little chat about the climate fear thats gripping us at the moment after its emerged shock, horror that the majority of those fires that started in crete were actually manmade. They were arson. Manmade. They were arson. Patrick christys on gb news britains channel well, at 4 00 we will look at why every single attempt to tackle the migrant crisis ends in failure. A spiders web of lefties. Could it possibly be . And in a few minutes time, i will issue a full and frank and heartfelt apology to a bear at a chinese zoo. Yes, you heard me chinese zoo. Yes, you heard me right. More on that in a tick. But last year, as the temperature hit 40 degrees in britain, were all boiling hot britain, we were all boiling hot summers. Theyre here to stay. Well, they got that again well, they got that wrong again , didnt probably , didnt they . You probably heard oh , grim heard the phrase, oh, its grim up its not been very up north. But its not been very nice in the south of england today waves were today either. Waves were crashing haven beach crashing into new haven beach along coast of portland. Our along the coast of portland. Our reporter jeff moody battled the winds and his guest, alex bailey, lost his cap. Oh, there he goes. Now, its less than a he goes. Now, its less than a fortnight since the wildfires broke out across the continent , broke out across the continent, europe and you couldnt move. For experts claiming it was all down to Climate Change, could he . The greek island of rhodes was badly hit with thousands of british tourists evacuated two weeks ago. Our friends at the daily mirror, well, weeks ago. Our friends at the daily mirror, well , their front daily mirror, well, their front page said that the fires were the terrifying reality of todays climate crisis. Well, todays climate crisis. Well, today, the same paper has confirmed that most of the fires were started deliberately or by criminal negligence. Thats not criminal negligence. Thats not on the front page, of course. On the front page, of course. Just tucked away neatly away on page nine. Well i am very pleased to say that im joined now in the studio by weather journalist nathan brown. Nathan, thank you very, very much. Pleasure. Look, just firstly, were you as surprised as i was . I was in greece at the time when these fires were taking place. All greek was all of the greek media was saying arson. Yeah. And saying this is arson. Yeah. And then on of then i turned on all of the british media and saying british media and its saying that climate crisis. That this is the climate crisis. Yeah, surprised at that. That this is the climate crisis. Yearight surprised at that. That this is the climate crisis. Yearight. Surprised at that. That this is the climate crisis. Yearight. Wasntad at that. That this is the climate crisis. Yearight. Wasnt surprised, right. I wasnt surprised, actually. I think this sort actually. I think this is sort of how this gets whipped up. Of how how this gets whipped up. I the really i think one of the really important weve got important things weve got to do, do there a debate do, i do think there is a debate to be had about this. But i think the most important thing to be had about this. But i thircanie most important thing to be had about this. But i thircan do nost important thing to be had about this. But i thircan do before1portant thing to be had about this. But i thircan do before1portiist thing to be had about this. But i thircan do before1portiis makei we can do before that is make this between climate this distinction between climate and is what i and weather. And this is what i think things are getting muddled and weather. And this is what i thintempersare getting muddled and weather. And this is what i thin tempers are getting muddled and weather. And this is what i thintempers are getting raised. d and tempers are getting raised. Weather is completely separate. Its but weather weather is completely separate. It a but weather weather is completely separate. It a separate but weather weather is completely separate. Ita separate phenomenoneather weather is completely separate. Ita separate phenomenon from is a separate phenomenon from climate. Short term. Climate. Weather is short term. Changes in temperature , wind changes in temperature, wind speed, wind direction, pressure air, High Pressure, low pressure, all that sort of thing, that on a short term bafis thing, that on a short term basis up our weather. Now, basis makes up our weather. Now, climate is separate thing. Climate is a separate thing. Climate is an average of all those things taken over a period of 20 years, years of ten years, 20 years, 30 years to model of whats to produce a model of whats happening the atmosphere and happening to the atmosphere and what could happen. What potentially could happen. So when people getting angry so when people are getting angry about being blamed on about this being blamed on climate with Climate Change, im sort of with them because at them because you look at pictures and people them because you look at pictoh,i and people them because you look at pictoh,i climate people them because you look at pictoh,i Climate Change. Go, oh, thats Climate Change. No thats weather. That is an extreme weather event. Its okay. Its okay. Well , the arson, the effects well, the arson, the effects of arson are driven by extreme weather. They very high weather. They had very high temperatures and low humidity. Now that well a product now that may well be a product of Climate Change. Climate change may increase the probability of extreme weather events like that. But i think where the discussion is getting muddled getting where the discussion is getting muddleup, getting where the discussion is getting muddleup, are getting where the discussion is getting muddleup, are looking ing where the discussion is getting muddleup, are looking at] heated up, people are looking at everything going. Everything we get and going. Thats Climate Change. Thats not were cold, not Climate Change. Were cold, hard mixing the hard scientists and mixing the two two two together and theyre two very there was very different things. There was a famous geographer actually called andrew john herbertson, a famous geographer actually callesaidldrew john herbertson, a famous geographer actually callesaidldrew joiis herbertson, a famous geographer actually callesaidldrew joiis whatertson, a famous geographer actually callesaidldrew joiis what we n, who said climate is what we expect. Is what we get. Who said climate is what we exjclimate is what we get. Who said climate is what we exjclimate is is what we get. Who said climate is what we exjclimate is a is what we get. Who said climate is what we exjclimate is a modelat we get. Who said climate is what we exjclimate is a model ofrve get. Who said climate is what we exjclimate is a model of whatt. So climate is a model of what sort of things we can expect and weather is what we actually see. Yeah now look, weve heard a lot about modelling, especially dunng about modelling, especially during pandemic. During the coronavirus pandemic. I the during the coronavirus pandemic. I of the during the coronavirus pandemic. I of chris the during the coronavirus pandemic. I of chris looming days of chris whitty looming large room, large into your front room, scaring heck of scaring the living heck out of everyone, but weve some everyone, but weve got some footage or clips believe, footage or clips i believe, anyway, weather in anyway, of todays weather in britain, i think havent we . We can see some of the rain and we can see some of the rain and we can see some of the things that have battling horrible have been battling on horrible i mean,. Right. Wouldnt mean, look. Right. I wouldnt say extreme weather. That say thats extreme weather. That is manchester im sure is manchester city. Im not sure if but thats if it is manchester, but thats what know about what i would know about manchester in the manchester looking like in the summer we seeing summer. So why arent we seeing all of this climate fear here . Well, we are getting what we could probably agree is a pretty miserable end to summer actually at the moment. Miserable end to summer actually at the moment. And thats why at the moment. And thats why were not. To interrupt, were not. Scorching terrupt, if it were not. Scorching hotht, if it were not. Scorching hot , t, if it were not. Scorching hot , its if it were not. Scorching hot , its climate was scorching hot, its Climate Change. Well, whats this then . Yeah us being yeah well, this is just us being on side of the jet stream. So on the south so europe is on the south side of the jet stream, and thats to thats allowing High Pressure to build very strong build clear skies. Very strong at of year. Those at this time of year. Those temperatures were unusual. So thats between is thats where the link between is this pushing thats where the link between is this temperatures pushing thats where the link between is this temperatures higher. 1ing thats where the link between is this temperatures higher. We those temperatures higher. We are the north side of the jet are on the north side of the jet stream, so were getting all the activity atlantic activity from the atlantic coming im coming in. Wet weather. And im afraid going afraid to say its going to continue 10 continue for the next 7 to 10 days. So put your bikinis days. So put away your bikinis or you know . You know. Or whatever, you know . You know. Yeah, but were just on the other of stream other side of the jet stream now. Stream been now. Had the jet stream been higher the last two weeks, we higher in the last two weeks, we may well have some of the may well have seen some of the hotter was in hotter weather that was in europe. Wed have hotter weather that was in eur as. Wed have hotter weather that was in eur as hot wed have hotter weather that was in eur as hot as wed have hotter weather that was in eur as hot as that, wed have hotter weather that was in eur as hot as that, wthatsve got as hot as that, but thats what last year what we got this time last year when 40. 3. And again, when we hit 40. 3. And again, that so may that was unusual. So there may be link, lets not get too be a link, but lets not get too overly for time. Be a link, but lets not get too oveis for time. Be a link, but lets not get too oveis it for time. Be a link, but lets not get too oveis it irresponsible|e. Be a link, but lets not get too oveis it irresponsible for some is it irresponsible for some Media Outlets to paint the whole map of everywhere dark red . No, i dont think its irresponsible because medias have to know. They have to sell papers. All weve papers. Weve all weve both worked newspapers and thats worked in newspapers and thats what i think we what they do. I think what we need especially when it need to do, especially when it comes change and when comes to Climate Change and when theyre this, this, theyre discussing this, this, this change this topic of Climate Change is we the science we have to look at the science and objective and and we have to be objective and we be correct and we we have to be correct and we have muddling extreme have to stop muddling extreme weather and weather events that we saw and just blaming climate just blaming it on Climate Change, discussion change, but have a discussion about possibly linked . About is this possibly linked . Nathan, very, look, nathan, thank you very, very. Pleasure. Always a pleasure. Always a pleasure. Everybodys nathan rader, everybodys favourite journalist. Favourite weather journalist. Yeah, i was staggered. I was on my sun lounger in on a greek island and i was reading it, reading the that and all reading the news, that and all of local press. Arson, of the local press. Arson, arson, arson. Then i turned on the youve got the british news and youve got someone or some someone carrying a baby or some someone carrying a baby or some some pets out of a burning building. This coming for building. This is coming for you. Climate change. You. Its Climate Change. I thought, hang on minute thought, well, hang on a minute. Has anyone read local. Has anyone read the local news . Maybe they news . Obviously, maybe they hadnt news . Obviously, maybe they hadnt ignored but hadnt or theyd ignored it. But moving on, it is time for something incredibly serious. I always strive to hit the best possible standards of journalism. Um, accuracy and facts matter. It is my solemn duty to have to apologise today after it emerged. I may have misled the world with some erroneous reporting in relation to a chinese bear. Yesterday i showed you a video of what looked suspiciously like a man dressed as a bear at the hangzhou zoo. My as a bear at the hangzhou zoo. My scepticism , um, centred my scepticism, um, centred around a close up image of the bears around a close up image of the bears backside, which appears to be at best sagging like a humans in a bear costume , at humans in a bear costume, at worst, completely non existent. I want to make it clear that the hangzhou zoo has now strenuously denied dressing a man in the skin of a deceased sun bear to fool visitors into thinking that the bear had not in fact died on their watch. I would like to formally apologise to the hangzhou zoo. The president xi jinping to the chinese embassy, who i would like to emphasise have made no threats to me whatsoever to china as a whole, to barry gardiner, to my local Chinese Restaurant chinatown in london, and any other major uk to city sun bears, all other types of bear grizzly, black yogi, the whole gang. I am very yogi, the whole gang. I am very sorry for casting a shadow of doubt over the reality of this beanl doubt over the reality of this bear. I am sorry. Or as they say in china, djibouti. Hopefully in china, djibouti. Hopefully theyll let me live now. Now okay. A Home Office Source has told gb news that the bibby stockholm will not be taking the promised new migrant arrivals today. It could be delayed due today. It could be delayed due to next week. But are we ever going see Asylum Seekers going to see Asylum Seekers on that and also, whats that barge and also, whats actually really stopping it . Is it lefty lawyers and a left leaning fire union . Im also going to be asking, why cant we just stop these boats being made and transported across the continent . All that coming your way in. How can it be that difficult to stop thousands of now actually not that small boats from making it to the shores of calais. It smacks of corruption. Im going to be discussing all of that. Yes. Load of this as well. Yes. Get a load of this as well. There is a revolt going on within government, within politics about the rollout of electric vehicles 30 political tour de forces have come out and said now that rishi sunak should roll back on that 2030 promise to stop new petrol and diesel cars. And they say gas cars arent next. Were doing this. Arent next. Were doing this. Yes. Will trump actually be jailed . He is facing charges. Hes saying this is akin now to something that you would see in germany. Also, whats going on germany. Also, whats going on with joe and hunter biden, anyway , next, were going to be anyway, next, were going to be discussing this as well. So rishi sunak is copping it for a fashion faux pas. If youve not seen it. Well, hold that thought , because i will be revealing all very , very shortly. Patrick all very, very shortly. Patrick christys on. Gb views. Yes no christys on. Gb views. Yes no new oil and gas cars anyway, right. Okay. Loads to play for today. Gb views. Cbnnews. Com. Keep them coming in. Im going to be drilling down now and having a look at how on earth these boats, not small these small boats, not so small boats, actually able to get boats, are actually able to get right continent right across the continent before they get to calais. And then, course , dover. But then, of course, dover. But right its your headlines then, of course, dover. But right polly its your headlines then, of course, dover. But right polly. Times with a much loved child. Now labour supporting unions have been accused of attempting to block the use of the bibby stockholm to house Asylum Seekers. A government source described it as a betrayal of the country and british people. Thats after the Fire Brigades Union warned the barge was a potential death trap, saying it will write to the home office about overcrowding , adding and about overcrowding, adding and fire concerns. This fire exit concerns. This morning, a van was seen delivering food to the floating vessel. However it could be next week before any Asylum Seekers arrive. Lets turn our attention arrive. Lets turn our attention now to the United States, where the former President Donald Trump, whos facing four new criminal charges , will appear in criminal charges, will appear in court tomorrow. Hes accused of conspiring to defraud the United States by preventing congress from certifying joe bidens victory after the 2020 election. Prosecutor are also trying to link the former president of the capitol hill riots. Its the capitol hill riots. Its the third time in four months hes been charged as he campaigns to regain the presidency. Steve gill was a former adviser to the clinton and bush administrations. He says its an issue of free speech. The charges are really very scant, though, when you look at what what theres actually contained in these four indictments. Theyre trying to create Donald Trumps freedom of speech to question the veracity of this election, the credibility of that election. And thats his free speech. Right. To do so. And thats his free speech. Right. To do so. Trying to right. To do so. Trying to criminalise is beyond criminalise that is beyond anything that us law does. Anything that us law does. A court has ruled that a rape suspect whos accused of faking his own death to avoid justice can be extradited. Nicholas can be extradited. He was arrested in glasgow in 2021, but claimed it was a case of mistaken identity and that hes actually an irish orphan called arthur knight. The an irish orphan called arthur knight. Energy giants are being urged to invest in home grown projects as part of efforts to boost britains Energy Security. The britains Energy Security. The Energy Security secretary is holding talks with Top Companies in downing street today, encouraging them to invest in renewables and Carbon Capture and storage. Thats after the Prime Minister announced plans to grant 100 new oil and gas licence arches in the uk. Grant shapps says the uk will still meet net zero targets, despite that, i think everyone supports this countrys transition to net zero, but you cannot get there by telling people were simply going to stop, stop using oil and gas. Well , the only way to do that well, the only way to do that would be to tell people, dont put your gas boiler on, dont drive a petrol car and do that almost instantaneously unless you do that. What youre really saying is, oh, were not going to dig our own oil and gas, well import it instead. And thats basically labours policy on this. Problem with on this. And the problem with importing it with importing it is it comes with four times the amount of embedded carbon. Embedded carbon. An anti vaccine protester has been found guilty of harassment after accusing matt hancock of murdering people during the covid pandemic. Gay tarjanyi from lancashire shoulder barged. This is gb news across the uk on tv in your car , on Digital Radio and on car, on Digital Radio and on your Smart Speaker by saying play your Smart Speaker by saying play gb news. Back now to. Patrick okay , so look, starting with the okay, so look, starting with the latest of the migrant barge off the coast of dorset and well, the coast of dorset and well, the news is that there isnt really much news, but a home office has told gb news Office Source has told gb news today that the bibby stockholm will the promised will not be taking the promised new today that new migrant arrivals today that could now be delayed to next week. The real news is this the Fire Brigades Union is writing to the home office about overcrowding , access to fire overcrowding, access to fire exits on the vessel. Its the general secretary, ben selby , general secretary, ben selby, asserting that it was potentially a death trap. Bear in mind, this boat is being used by loads of other people, workmen, members of our military personnel stay in very similar accommodation. Well, these accommodation. Well, these claims about it being a death trap have been rejected by government. Minister grant shapps. Government. Minister grant shapps. We just wanted to take shapps. We just wanted to take a little look really about some of the other hidden motivations behind why some people might be opposing, frankly , not just the opposing, frankly, not just the bibby stockholm, but absolute everything when it comes to clamping down on the channel migrant crisis. And who better to do that than our Home Security editor mark white, who has got us this exclusive package , the first asylum package, the first Asylum Seekers should already have been on board the bbc stockholm barge, but once again, home office plans to place channel migrants in larger scale, more bafic migrants in larger scale, more basic accommodation centres. Has been beset by delays and fierce opposition after fire Service Checks highlighted some safety concerns with the barge. Safety concerns with the barge. The Fire Brigades Union has now stepped into the row, claiming that the home office is adopting a reckless approach to the safety of Asylum Seekers. Safety of Asylum Seekers. Speaking on gb news today , the speaking on gb news today, the Energy Secretary grant shapps, insisted the barge is safe. This barge was actually used for housing migrants in germany in the past , for housing migrants in germany in the past, so i dont know why theres so much outrage about it. It seems to me perfectly obvious that we shouldnt be using hotels , hundreds or using hotels, hundreds or thousands, even rooms and hotels i i i was m i was shown round the barge last month. The cabins are basic but roomy with storage and en suite bathrooms. Theres a large suite bathrooms. Theres a large tv room. Is just one of multiple areas set aside for recreation. Include a gym, a computer room with more than a dozen desks and outside areas for sports and relaxation. In there are 24 hour relaxation. In there are 24 hour medical and dental facilities. Medical and dental facilities. As in truth, the barge offers far more wraparound facilities these than hotels. But human Rights Groups are still concerned , and this all comes concerned, and this all comes back to a ridiculous decision taken by ministers to refuse to process peoples claims , a process peoples claims, a matter on which they are now being dishonest, treating people in a dehumanising way and are desperate to find ever more places simply on which to essentially store people. Supporters of plan to house Asylum Seekers in more basic accommodation say its clear there is a determined campaign on to thwart those plans either for barges or old military bases. The liberal lefty do gooders, the human rights lawyers, are running rings around an utterly, woefully incompetent home office. Lets take this barge. This barge has been used for 30 years for Asylum Seekers, for british construction workers , british construction workers, building offshore projects. If it was good enough for them, its absolutely good enough for these Illegal Migrants. In the latest move to resist the governments barge plans , a the governments barge plans, a lawyers representing dozens of Asylum Seekers whove been given nofice Asylum Seekers whove been given notice of a move to the barge have written to the home office appealing that decision. One appealing that decision. One lawyer claimed several migrants earmarked for the barge have now been taken off that list and will stay in their hotels as mark white, gb news yes , well, mark white, gb news yes, well, there we go. And mark, yesterday you were on this show talking about these new reinforced not so small boats im boats that theyre using. Im going be discussing shortly going to be discussing shortly how is how difficult or otherwise it is to stop those boats to actually stop those boats from travelling across the continent and then getting to calais and then getting over here. But just drill down on here. But just to drill down on something alluding something you were alluding to there which is there a little bit, which is about potential spiders about this potential spiders web of political activism that is stopping us from doing anything. Well, well just anything. Well, well just expand on that a bit. I think there is certainly concern within government circles that what were seeing at the moment is , is a number of at the moment is, is a number of groups on the left that are just pushing every avenue they can to try to thwart the governments attempts to move away from the use of hotel rooms , which is use of hotel rooms, which is currently housing 51,000 people. Right across the country at a cost of £6 million a day. The government, which many people would agree with, wants to move away from that model and put people in more basic accommodation , but still safe accommodation, but still safe and still suitable accommodation , then they would argue. However weve heard from the likes of keith valdez symonds there from amnesty , describing it as amnesty, describing it as storing people. I mean, thats quite , you know, inflammatory quite, you know, inflammatory line to describe it. Its rubbish. Abaj dab radio now. Well, i was on the bp barge and looked around. Its perfectly comfortable. Its perfectly comfortable. And as i said, it has more amenities, many more amenities than you would get in a hotel room. The rooms might be slightly smaller than a hotel room. You might be in bunk beds, but theyre by no means uncomfortable in that sense. They all have en suite bathrooms. They all have storage for your belongings and all of the other wraparound amenities. The other wraparound amenities. Liz i just think, you know , liz i just think, you know, sometimes we need to get this in perspective and claiming that these conditions are inhumane. These conditions are inhumane. They clearly are not inhumane. They clearly are not inhumane. And you can look to countries like jordan and turkey where they have these marquees, these big tents that people have been in for ten years, as in the semi permanent refugee camps in these refugee camps are being run by the charities and unhcr. No ones complaining about the fact that for years after year after year, people are still housed in these conditions. I have been to camps on the Syrian Border where they were basically like containers. There basically like containers. There was a Little School set up in there as well because there were so many children , lots of women so many children, lots of women actual women and children as well. Unlike a huge number of people who will be on the bibby stockholm course, stockholm barge, of course, all men in those camps were men in and those camps were funded in part by the european union. Nobody was claiming then that this was against anyones human rights there in the searing heat all day in these porta cabins, no one really seemed to mind. They were just grateful not to be in a war zone. But look, mark, thank you very much. And thank you for bringing us that particular as well. White there. Our well. Its mark white there. Our Home Security editor. I just want along bit, want to move this along a bit, because mark, as because yesterday, mark, as regular show, regular viewers of this show, will some will know, brought us some footage of reinforced boats so they can cram more people onto these boats. Now, talks of 70, 75 plus people piling onto these and getting across the channel. How many tens of thousands of these boats now have made their way manufactured abroad in places like turkey and other parts of the world, made their way across an entire continent , way across an entire continent, somehow, miraculously , despite somehow, miraculously, despite we all know what theyre being used for and they get all the way to calais and then they can be used in calais to come across the channel. Rishi sunak has said that he wants to stop the boats, but i want us to literally stop the boats stopping people in calais, getting their hands on them. Now i now speak with i can now speak with former director border director general of uk border force smith. Tony, thank force tony smith. Tony, thank you very much. Force tony smith. Tony, thank you very much. I force tony smith. Tony, thank you very much. I cannot i cannot you very much. I cannot i cannot believe that the full might of europes Police Forces and our own and our own intelligence forces, etcetera , cannot stop forces, etcetera, cannot stop the manufacturing of these boats and the transportation of them to a point where they can be used to, as Suella Braverman would say, invade britain. Would say, invade britain. Yeah, im afraid it is, though, patrick. Extremely difficult to do to do that. There is a forensic examination of every boat which mark will probably know , having mark will probably know, having been down there every boat is retrieved by the border force forensic examination of what it was made of. What im seeing was made of. What im seeing from maritime experts that i talked to down there is that these are increasingly dangerous. A lot of plywood involved would screws being put on the back, engine held together on wood which are rusting. Wood screws which are rusting. Im just amazed. I think im just amazed. And i think most and most of the coastguard and the border out there are border force guys out there are amazed havent had more amazed we havent had more drownings. Boats drownings. Actually these boats arent particularly sophisticated well but sophisticated or well made, but yes, there is a real problem in the supply chain continues to defeat us in many in many aspects. And thats really because im afraid that, you know, International Organised crime does pay and so were really relying very much on our colleagues in the National Crime agency. Theyve got officers agency. Theyve got officers posted in 130 Different Countries , electric across the countries, electric across the world, working sometimes in quite dangerous conditions to try and identify whos behind these kind of supply chains. But its really, really difficult for them. But is it not reasonable for me to suspect that . I mean, i can remember in the immediate wake of brexit, the french authorities and dutch authorities stopping anybody who was coming in from britain and they were checking there, even opening their sandwich for them, making sure that they didnt have kind of meat, have the wrong kind of meat, that didnt meet eu regulations have the wrong kind of meat, tietcetera. Meet eu regulations have the wrong kind of meat, tietcetera. Butet eu regulations have the wrong kind of meat, tietcetera. But if eu regulations have the wrong kind of meat, tietcetera. But if iu regulations , etcetera. But if i have a lorry load not so small boats lorry load of not so small boats with a load of outboard motors in of destined for in the back of it, destined for a venue famous for people smuggling, were looking at one of these ones now, by the way, with the reinforced base on it. Then thats all right. You can wave on through. So should wave that on through. So should we honest say that we just be honest and say that this more to do with the this has got more to do with the complete and utter corruption by our european friends . Is that fair. Fair. I dont think thats fair. I dont think theyre necessarily corrupt. Thats to not say that there isnt corruption in place, in my experience, patrick, in many, many countries of the world. And im afraid that some of International Organised of the International Organised crime in fact state sponsored in my experience, what have done my experience, what we have done in provide funding in the past is provide a funding or there has been funding provided by the cho to us to send training trainers, expert trainers out to borders around the to world give them equipment, to show them how to deal equipment, to show them how to deal, to identify these kinds of things. And actually, you know what, patrick . That did work with albania. I know we talked about yeah. As about albania now. Yeah. As being for a being an agreement for a returns, part of returns, but actually part of that process was to educate them. And albanians are quite prominent actually in a criminal gangs that we are now working with the albanians on their own border and on all places in between to identify smugglers coming from as but coming from there as well. But its task for but its a big task for us. But we really funding. Need really need is funding. We need funding for overseas development. We need opportunities for us experts to get out there around the world. And we need to ensure that our yes, can our National Crime yes, we can our National Crime Agency Assets are given access to local Law Enforcement agencies around the world who buy into the same philosophy that you and are buying into that you and i are buying into and afraid the and that really, im afraid the world is an imperfect place. And many borders around the many of these borders around the world are corrupt. You world are corrupt. And, you know, does pay. So know, and crime does pay. So its really difficult. Its really difficult. Just just just quickly on the actual physicality and the makeup of these boats, you said that are forensically that they are forensically analysed they rock up analysed when they rock up somewhere in the middle of the channel. Well, what do we learn about that then . We learn about that then . Do we learn about that then . Do we learn about where materials about where the materials for them from . Do we learn them come from . Do we learn about where boats are about where these boats are made . Come in small bits about where these boats are madthey come in small bits about where these boats are madthey are come in small bits about where these boats are madthey are conbyn small bits and they are made by human traffickers on the shores at calais in which case i would have thought they would to have thought they would be to easy stop. Easy stop. No, the boats are slit open. No, the boats are slit open. Patrick on arrival. The rubber that theyre made of is analysed in a chemical or chemical experts to identify where that rubber might originate from, where that would be found in other commodities that are moved across the world. Similarly with the other parts of the boat, the engines are taken engines in particular are taken to an awful lot engines in particular are taken to work an awful lot engines in particular are taken to work going an awful lot engines in particular are taken to work going on, an awful lot engines in particular are taken to work going on, younwful lot engines in particular are taken to work going on, you know, ot engines in particular are taken to work going on, you know, down of work going on, you know, down there to try and identify the source of these boats , but its source of these boats, but its really quite hard for us anyway in the uk agencies, the border force, the nca to get into the, you know, the actual source. We do rely a lot on the European Border agency, on frontex and on other agencies across europe and beyond really. Patrick to help us in a united the smugglers out of business. So its a pretty big ask look tony thank you very, very much. Great to have you on the show. Tony smith there, the former director uk former director general of uk border. The of the border force. At the top of the last we had henry bolton, last hour, we had henry bolton, because other solution to because the other solution to this my view, to send this was, in my view, to send the assassin and the assassin to just go and smash the living daylights out of Human Trafficking of the actual Human Trafficking gangs at source, wherever they may be around the world. Henry bolton was very up front. He said, it can be done. We said, look, it can be done. We used to do similar things. That has a lack, he has stopped. It was a lack, he said, political ill will. Said, of political ill will. There weve just heard from tony there about. Okay, well , can we there about. Okay, well, can we can we smash the actual boat production of it . Well, it appears that we are appears to me that we are relying rather a lot on our european across the european friends across the channel european friends across the channel, and they clearly are not much, they . Not doing that much, are they . I again refuse to believe that we as a world cannot stop the manufacturing and the supplying of these boats. And if people really claim to care about loss of life in the channel then they would be doing that. I think they care more about getting these people off their continents britain. But continents and into britain. But there we go. Loads more on this story our website. Gbnews. Com story on our website. Gbnews. Com the Fastest Growing National News the country. Well, our do to help people . Well, our very own Liam Halligan, our economics and Business Editor has been finding out there was a roundtable discussion today. So, look, if youve been struggling or, you know, people have or, you know, people that have potentially help is on way, potentially help is on the way, stay tuned find out. Patrick stay tuned to find out. Patrick christys on gb news. Britains channel really great stuff for you. Coming up in just a tick out, youre going to be discussing a growing revolt against the drive to get us all using electric cars. And after being charged with trying to defraud the United States, donald trump claims that hes being persecuted in a style reminiscent of germany, but closer to home, Energy Security secretary grant grant shapps and industry leaders, including shell, bp , edf, they met at shell, bp, edf, they met at downing street today. They were discussing plans to improve britains Energy Security and ultimately bring down british bills. Minister grant shapps spoke to gb news this morning. Actually, we have about 40 of our electricity. Last year was generated by renewables and nuclear power, up from just 7 when we came to power. So its not that weve not been doing anything. Weve been moving very fast. Latest fast. This is just the latest round investment into round of investment into renewables by some of the very Biggest Energy companies in the land. Yeah, were just all hearing renewables, renewables. Oh, its all great, but are they all just patting each other on the back for their green mates . For pleasing their green mates . Meanwhile suffers. Meanwhile the taxpayer suffers. It as a new which report it comes as a new which report suggests that nearly 2. 5 million uk households missed essential payments last month. Gb news economics and Business Editor Liam Halligan joins me now with on the money. Oh yeah , its all on the money. Oh yeah, its all great. Renewables, renewables, renewables. Arent we brilliant. Renewables. Arent we brilliant. Everythings fantastic. Well, why are we skint . We have why are we all skint . We have moved to renewables a lot. Patrick. I mean, grant shapps is there are some days is right. There are some days when 40 of electricity the when 40 of electricity in the uk comes from renewables across the year its about 2,025 on average. Thats because there are days, weeks, even when the wind doesnt blow and the sun doesnt shine, particularly dunng doesnt shine, particularly during the winter months when demand for energy is highest. And i want to bring you an explanation here, because people talk to me, ask me all the time if renewables are so great, why are our energy bills so high . And they are really high. Have a look graphic. So these look at this graphic. So these numbers are quite hard to get hold of. To put into a form hold of. And to put into a form that they can be compared across countries. These are ive done these calculations. These are these calculations. These are residential end user electricity prices. In other words, Household Energy bills per unit. And these units are youll have to trust me on this. Patrick cent euros per kilowatt hour. What does that mean . Thats how you measure electricity. But just its comparable. So were comparing apples and apples on the left. There you see ,45. 2 the left. There you see ,45. 2 percent, euro kilowatt hour. Thats the uk right in france, electricity is much, much cheaper. Here. Itsjust electricity is much, much cheaper. Here. Its just 27. 1. Cheaper. Here. Itsjust 27. 1. France, 70 of their electricity, nuclear. And in spain its even less. Youve got spain its even less. Youve got 20. 20. 9 ,21 per kilowatt hour, a bit more in germany, but still significantly less than the uk and the eu average is about 25 per kilowatt hour. And look at per kilowatt hour. And look at the states under 19. Thats because theyve been fracking like crazy and theyve got much , much, much cheaper energy. But the uk is an outlier. And why is that . Im the uk is an outlier. And why is that . Im going to explain. Patrick, when you have renewables. Okay theyre great when they work, but they often dont work because the weather doesnt let them work. And we havent found a way yet to properly store that Renewable Energy in a way thats economic. So that means us having renewables in a country like the uk that isnt very sunny, sunny and theres a lot of intermittency means you have to have backup baseload. What does that mean . That means a way of just literally firing up energy at really short notice so we dont have power cuts, right now. The only way you can do that nuclear cant do that. You cant just go and turn up nuclear. It takes a long time. Nuclear. It takes a long time. The only way you can instantly have energy, literally at the flick of switch is coal. Well, flick of a switch is coal. Well, were not doing that. Coal has were not doing that. Coal has gone of our electricity gone from 40 of our electricity in the year 2000 to just 2 now. So the uk has made huge progress there. The only way you can do it outside of coal gas , gas it outside of coal is gas, gas fired power stations. You literally have to fire them up. Literally have to fire them up. And the only way you can fire up gas fired power stations to replace renewables oils is having whole power stations just sitting there waiting for the sun not to shine and the wind not to blow. And to do that, patrick is really, really expensive because you have to keep the staff, they have to keep the staff, they have to keep the staff, they have to keep the thing heated up. You have to basically run a power station without getting much revenue for it because you only use which use it intermittently, which puts up the unit cost of gas fired power across the board. The average unit costs. So to facilitate renewables to find space in our energy mix for renewables , as while we still renewables, as while we still have baseload it means the price of everything goes up because you have have these gas you have to have all these gas fired stations on standby. Fired power stations on standby. Now hear that now you wont hear that explained very often on on national television, but that is why our unit costs are so high, because as weve gone for more renewables, renewables pushes up the price of everything because you have to have these gas fired power stations on site. So the renewables thing, which everybody is championing, people like grant shapps are championing of people championing loads of people are there absolutely there because this is absolutely great. What neglect to tell great. What they neglect to tell you driving you is that it is driving the pnces you is that it is driving the prices up. It is simply because were doing renewables. Before we found a way to store the renewables right . And the only renewables right . And the only way you can do the renewables and get virtue signalling and get the virtue signalling loveliness of, oh, were all renewables, which why renewables, which is why were doing having gas fired doing it, is by having gas fired power on standby, which is really , really expensive and really, really expensive and pushes up , by really, really expensive and pushes up, by the really, really expensive and pushes up , by the way, the pushes up, by the way, the renewables people , they make renewables people, they make loads of money because theyre cost of generation is cheap. But because of this gas fired power, standby. The marginal cost of standby. The marginal cost of electricity in the uk is determined by price of gas. Determined by the price of gas. So they get a high price, even though they have very low generation. No wonder people generation. No wonder people like investing in renewable of course, but it means that isnt passed on. And also the government gets a massive stealth tax from this because is it taxes the renewables at source . So they get lots of source . So they get lots of money for that. But the renewables have only got that to money give the government in tax because were paying these high prices. Liam, thank you very , very liam, thank you very, very much. Halligan there our much. On. Gb news. Yesterday i spoke to you about the dangers of exploding electric bikes and e scooters. Well, today ive got big news on electric cars. Dont worry, electric cars. Dont worry, theyre not blowing up yet. Theyre not blowing up yet. Motoring bosses have warned that the extra power required to support growing electric vehicle use across the uk simply cannot be achieved by 2030. Weve just heard from Liam Halligan, havent we . That what we did was pump a load of money into renewable cars and now thats driving we driving the cost up because we havent technology havent developed the technology to all of that to be able to store all of that Renewable Energy. Were doing exactly the same thing in a way here. Now with electric cars, we have not got the infrastructure to be achieved by 2030 in order to be achieved by 2030 in order to use all of the electric cars when a ban on new petrol and diesel cars comes in. But we are continuing to do this anyway. On continuing to do this anyway. On top of that, the business secretary, kemi badenoch, has admitted that new rules which force manufacturers into making 1 in 5 cars electric are too restrictive and risky for british businesses. Restrictive and risky for british businesses. Is this is something that we did not have to do once we left the european union. And again in yet again, we are just doing it anyway. I am joined now by the conservative mp and the former exports minister, mark fish. Marcus, thank you very , very marcus, thank you very, very much. So why do you feel so passionately about this and should rishi sunak ditch this pledge by 2030 to ban all the new diesel and petrol cars . New diesel and petrol cars . Im a driver of an electric car and a hybrid and i find them great. Actually. But i just great. Actually. But i just think its best to let the market and let the manufacturers market. Let let the market decide the sort of pace of what can be done here. I am very concerned about the lack of infrastructure that is there , particularly in our cities. Actually, it is very hard to get the space, get the ability to be able to charge your car on the street and in a place like somerset rural england, we all depend on our cars. So we absolutely dont want to be seen as closing down affordable options ones. And the best options for consumers. Consumers. But is the reality not that by 2030, if we hurtle headlong into banning the existence of new petrol and diesel cars, that we will not have the infrastructure in order to be able to charge those cars and businesses, Car Manufacturers and customers will have all been hit massively in the pocket by this policy. This policy. It certainly a massive exercise in terms of infrastructure develop isnt a very expensive exercise and that i think we need to look very carefully at the affordability of it and to see whether its practical. A lot of people dont really think terribly hard about just how much energy goes into producing all of the materials that are required for such a rollout of our grid to be able to handle that in copper and steel and aluminium and copper crete, theres just a massive , crete, theres just a massive, massive need for investment there. If were going to do it. We know that the public finances are under pressure at the moment and other countries are not changed over to this. Ev revolution as fast as we are planning. Why are we doing it . Marcus sorry to interrupt, but why are we doing this to ourselves when we dont need to . Is it just to try to appease the green lobby . Because if it is, well , you know, you have a lot well, you know, you have a lot more. You have millions more people to appease. And those people to appease. And those people voters theyre people are voters and theyre not. Not happy about this. Very keen to see yeah, im very keen to see affordable, affordable transport for everybody who needs it. And for everybody who needs it. And in rural areas, that is often cars. So i just dont think its practical to move as fast as we are planning to that. That said, are planning to that. That said, im all in favour of doing what we to can minimise mans impact on the environment and i think that there are revolutions coming down the track very quickly in terms of battery capacity. His ability to store a capacity. His ability to store a lot more energy , maybe to look lot more energy, maybe to look at different technological ways of balancing the grid with the Power Generation and we should be exporting those sorts of technologies around the world and encouraging and leading on that. But we dont want to nix our our Competitive Industries like the internal Combustion Engine industry where we really are a world leader in efficiency. We by by a blanket ban, which just doesnt seem to make to much practical sense. I just think youve got labour bent over a barrel on the environment at the minute. Theyre getting funded by just stop oil, theyre funded by people who go out and commit criminal damage people criminal damage that some people think are environmental terrorists. For goodness sake. Terrorists. For goodness sake. They cant do what you want to do in the north sea right now. Of wouldnt reverse of course, they wouldnt reverse it, they came it, would they, if they came into power because they know its you its the right thing to do. You could as could really, really, really as you want to, but you could really on the side of really come down on the side of motorists now and draw that clear the next election clear line at the next election when are in polling when people are in the polling booth the next election, booth at the next election, whenever be, they whenever that may be, and they might there in their might have driven there in their petrol they cant petrol car that they cant afford replace, they afford to replace, are they going a party that going to vote for a party that wants them poorer or a wants to make them poorer or a party goes, you know what, party that goes, you know what, well up. Move well hold our hands up. We move too too. We couldnt do too fast, too. We couldnt do it. And were going to you it. And were going to let you keep and continue to keep your car and continue to drive is its drive it. Surely. This is its a gift for you . Gift for you . Well, yeah, we need a practical approach. There is no doubt that the opposition would would take a completely impractical line. I mean , ed, ed impractical line. I mean, ed, ed miliband is the sort of author of many of these issues that we are facing in terms of the compliance with the Climate Change act and other things that mean that in law , these are mean that in law, these are obugafions mean that in law, these are obligations that our industries have. So yeah, i think its a very clear choice and i think that people do need to think very carefully about whether they want a practical approach to trying to become more environmentally friendly or one thatis environmentally friendly or one that is to going hit them in the pocket. And i would say that people dont want to be colder and poorer. People dont want to be colder and poorer. And we are also going to need fossil fuels for decades and decades and decades to come. They are the feedstock for fertilisers that helps the 8 billion people around the world be fed. Theyre the feedstock for pharmaceuticals , which we for pharmaceuticals, which we all depend on for our health. These are things that it just is totally insane to be talking about banning fossil fuel development and not developing our own domestic resources. Marcus , thank you. Thank you marcus, thank you. Thank you very much for coming on. Great to have you on, especially dunng to have you on, especially during recess as well. So we appreciate time. Thats during recess as well. So we appreci. Fish time. Thats during recess as well. So we appreci. Fish there,1e. Thats during recess as well. So we appreci. Fish there, who hats during recess as well. So we appreci. Fish there, who ists during recess as well. So we appreci. Fish there, who is the marcus fish there, who is the conservative mp and former exports minister. You know, he made a great point at the end. If people dont want to be be poorer , do they rule or poorer, do they as a rule or colder matter, it was colder for that matter, it was this used this argument that were used dunng this argument that were used during referendum. During the brexit referendum. People, wont be people, people wont vote to be poorer thought that poorer and they thought that would bonkers , wouldnt it . Would be bonkers, wouldnt it . But now the labour party but then now the labour party and other parties are actively saying people vote , saying that people should vote, should vote for policies that will make them poorer so we can hit big green targets hit these big green targets anyway. All 175,000 Asylum Seekers an amnesty to clear the backlog and tackle the migrant crisis from scratch . I can hear people screaming at their Television Screens right now, but for me, us President Donald Trump has been accused of plotting to overturn his 2020 election defeat. Then the most election defeat. Then the most serious charges hes faced so far. Theres a lot happening at the minute with trump in america. So hes accused of four counts of dishonesty, fraud and deceit, including conspiracy to defraud states. Now, defraud the United States. Now, hes obviously come out swinging. Hes saying that hes being persecuted in a style reminiscent of germany. A lot of Trump Supporters are saying, well, hang on a minute. Whats well, hang on a minute. Whats going hunter biden . The going on with hunter biden . The president s son . The charges marked the end of an exhaustive investigation by special counsel jack smith into what happened before and during that riot on capitol hill, january the 6th, 2021. Lets just remind ourselves a little bit about what President Trump said at the time. All of us here today do not want to see our election victory stolen by emboldened radical left democrats, which is what theyre doing and stolen by the Fake News Media thats what theyve done and what theyre doing. We will never give up. We doing. We will never give up. We will never concede. It doesnt happen. You dont concede when theres theft involved. Theres theft involved. Well, hes not giving up over this either, is he . Paul hawkins joins me now , our national joins me now, our national correspondent. Now, paul , this correspondent. Now, paul, this is something hes absolutely fighting, even if he essentially goes prison. Really . Yeah. Goes to prison. Really . Yeah. Posted his social and hes posted on his social media this media platform, truth this afternoon. Hes called it an afternoon. Hes called it an unprecedented indictment. And he unprecedented indictment. And he says that it has woken the world to the Corruption Scandal and failure that has taken place in the for the past three years. The us for the past three years. Just through just to run through those charges first one, charges is so the first one, conspiracy defraud the conspiracy to defraud the us prosecutors , according to legal prosecutors, according to legal experts, will need to prove that he at least one overt he took at least one overt action clear step. For action or clear step. For example , calling georgias example, calling georgias secretary of state , which was secretary of state, which was widely reported to asking him to find enough votes to deliver a trump win. Then youve got conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction official proceeding, obstruction of an official proceeding. That was where we saw. Do you was the bit where we saw. Do you remember they all remember they were all in congress the result. Congress certifying the result. An according its in this an according and its in this document. It is claimed the Vice President responded that he thought was no thought there was no constitutional basis for such authority the authority to stop the certification , an the allegation certification, an the allegation being asked him to. Certification, an the allegation bein apparently asked him to. Certification, an the allegation bein apparently heisked him to. Certification, an the allegation bein apparently he said him to. Certification, an the allegation bein apparently he said to m to. Certification, an the allegation bein apparently he said to the . And apparently he said to the vice President Trump that is youre too honest. And then finally, conspiracy against the rights and rights of citizens and prosecutors will need to prove trump specifically intended to depnve trump specifically intended to deprive voters of the right to a Fair Election and that all this will hinge on. Do you remember bofis will hinge on. Do you remember Boris Johnson sitting being judged by the commons to have knowingly misled parliament . This will be about did he honestly believe was fraud honestly believe it was a fraud or did he know that he was actually telling lies about it . So that will form the basis of the prosecution. Hes the prosecution. As we say, hes the prosecution. As we say, hes the to the first former president to face criminal charges. This will be third case, possibly. Be his third case, possibly. There could a fourth. And of there could be a fourth. And of course , theres in course, theres nothing in the constitution that if constitution that says that if youre charges that youre convicted of charges that youre convicted of charges that you cant continue campaigning for president and indeed be president. So with an election president. So with an Election Campaign way , campaign on the way, potentially, he will also be facing criminal trials. He could be in jail campaigning while hes jail , then also running hes in jail, then also running the. Yeah, were in completely uncharted territory here. Yeah. Paul, look, thank very, paul, look, thank you very, very our very much. Paul hawkins, our national reporter, whizzing us through a heck of a lot. Now, as if minister didnt if the Prime Minister didnt have lose have enough reasons to lose votes in the next general election. Mens wear election. A mens wear influencer has said his ill fitting suits could be a liability. Check my own. Really . Liability. Check my own. Really . Ill get mine off the rack. But anyway, derrick guy said on social media, its baffling to me how the wealthiest uk Prime Minister in history could live just steps away from savile row. The single greatest concentration of skilled bespoke tailors and end up paying 2,000 for a mtm suit made to measure. Thank you. I did not need that in my ear, but there we go with sleeves and trousers to four inches to shorts. We could show gb news viewers to photos where derrick guy says the trousers are too short. Could this really are too short. Could this really cost him votes . I can now speak cost him votes . I can now speak with fashion writer Amber Graafland. Amber thank you very much. Will all this cost rishi the next election . The next election . Well, lets be honest. Well, lets be honest. If being well dressed was a prerequisite to being voted into office, we would never have had a Prime Minister maybe with the exception of Winston Churchill and michael heseltine. And being and michael heseltine. And being badly dressed hasnt stopped people being voted in in the past. But it is interesting because actually rishi is really well dressed. He he presents himself really well. Hes a man who spends a lot of money on his clothes, actually one of clothes, but actually one of those pictures, the trousers actually look theyre actually look like theyre cropped, beyond cropped, that theyre beyond being short. They actually being too short. They actually look wearing of look like hes wearing a pair of crop so its a bit crop trousers. So its a bit baffling. Well this isnt a style, is it . This isnt. Is this something that people do . I dont know, because i thought sometimes i see posh rich people wearing things that i think makes them look absolutely ridiculous and then im told, no, thats what posh rich people wear. Okay. I just have to accept it and aspire towards so isnt aspire towards it. So this isnt that in the city, theres definitely a trend. And i think sometimes the more people, more men in the city spend on suits, the kind of tighter and more streamlined they are, and they definitely tend to wear their trousers a little bit shorter. So i guess little bit shorter. So i guess a tailor would say to you that the rules trousers should rules are your trousers should just the of the back of just hit the top of the back of your shoe and theres definitely be a been trend for taking be a been a trend for taking them slightly higher. And actually the hem isnt isnt straight. It kind of goes off a little bit at the front to reveal a little bit more of the sock. So thats been a thing. Definitely gone definitely but rishi has gone way beyond that. I mean, they are kind of 2 or 3 in one of those pictures. They look like theyre four inches so theyre four inches higher. So im really sure whats going im not really sure whats going on there. Not a trend. On there. Its not a trend. Its not a trend. Right okay. Well, that is interesting. Well, that is interesting. Again. No, but there is that side of it, isnt there . You know, this guys got loads of money, but then you cant win sometimes. Hes gone sometimes. Apparently hes gone to family to disneyland with his family and going, oh, only and people are going, oh, only rich people go to disneyland. Well, a lot of people do well, quite a lot of people do go to disneyland is due a houday go to disneyland is due a holiday as a Prime Minister of this country, you dont to this country, you dont have to start and start shopping at primark. And go spending all your holidays. You know, can shopping somewhere in yarmouth tent and in yarmouth in a tent and cooking beans a stove. You cooking beans on a stove. You can enjoy your life. But look, amber, very, very can enjoy your life. But look, amber short very, very can enjoy your life. But look, ambershort and very, very can enjoy your life. But look, ambershort and sweet. ery can enjoy your life. But look, ambershort and sweet. Ary can enjoy your life. But look, ambershort and sweet. A bit much. Short and sweet. A bit like trousers, but like rishi sunaks trousers, but great you on the show. Great to have you on the show. Amber graafland who a Amber Graafland there, who is a fashion fashion writer. Oh, okay. Right apparently what apparently ive got to do this now where i show you show you my trouser leg. Great all right. Its a good job. There we go. Right. Here we are. Oh, this is this is. This is cracking telly, isnt it . Thank you very much. Isnt it . Thank you very much. Yes. Those are my trousers. As you can see, im better dressed than im better dressed than rishi apparently. Rishi sunak, apparently. So there. Okay. I know we there we are. Okay. I know we are. Yeah there we are. Right. I think im going to call time on this ridiculous exercise that my producers made do producers have just made me do and that ive got loads more and say that ive got loads more coming hour. Right, were starting with the migrant crisis. And to put it bluntly , crisis. And to put it bluntly, everything the government has tried to sort out so far has failed, but also not really been allowed to happen. Its not really been allowed to work. They wanted to deport people to rwanda , house migrants at rwanda, house migrants at disused airfields and of course, the bibby stockholm migrant barge in portland still to barge in portland is still to receive its first Asylum Seeker. Thatis receive its first Asylum Seeker. That is now largely because there is a volley of legal complaints going in from the Asylum Seekers. I dont really think theyre from Asylum Seekers at all. I think these are from lawyers who quite like the sound and indeed the smell of the money. Thats coming their way. It comes hot off the back, it, of an back, doesnt it, of an investigation that showed that a lot of lawyers were taking cash in hand payments in order to make up false asylum claims and game the system . We also now game the system . We also now have the Fire Brigade Union, which, by the way, is affiliated to the labour party, saying that they they think its a death trap. This bibby stockholm barge. We couldnt possibly house people on that. Is this house people on that. Is this not a left leaning, financially motivated attack on our own borders . All the while the boats keep on coming. Of course there are around 50,000 migrant in hotels. Thats costing us £6 hotels. Thats costing us £6 million a day. And some. There are also 170,000 people, all who are also 170,000 people, all who are waiting to find out if they will be given asylum. So there are concerns that in the wake of this backlog , if labour are concerns that in the wake of this backlog, if labour win are concerns that in the wake of this backlog , if labour win the this backlog, if labour win the next election or if theres a lib lab pact, what will that mean that an amnesty is given to all of these people to get rid of this backlog and start from scratch again . Look, joining me scratch again . Look, joining me now to discuss this is human rights lawyer shoaib khan. Shoaib thank you very, very much. Great to you on the much. Great to have you on the show. Would you support for an Asylum Seeker amnesty . Do you Asylum Seeker amnesty . Do you think . Think . I dont think i would necessarily know. It depends exactly what the procedures would be, what the criteria would be, but i dont think so. I mean, i think, like you started off saying , i think so. I mean, i think, like you started off saying, i think mainly its just an indictment of this governments failures in every single way. And its only a government thats failing its thats absolutely failing its policies has no idea what to do, no clue. Thats then they start no clue. Thats then they start thinking about either blanket bans on things or blanket allowances or amnesty. Allowances or amnesty. And i think thats, you know , tragically, sadly, unfortunately , thats where we unfortunately, thats where we are right now. The government has completely lost control and it doesnt know what to do. And not surprisingly , then and not surprisingly, then obviously this government the obviously this government or the next eventually next government might eventually think, look, were spending millions day this and millions every day on this and were no closer to finding a solution. Solution. So maybe just have to let so maybe we just have to let people but i people through. But but i wouldnt in favour of that. Wouldnt be in favour of that. I think, you know, from the point of sort national of view of sort of National Security personal of security, personal safety of people , just generally fairness. People, just generally fairness. I obviously , you know, i mean, obviously, you know, quota amnesties , im quota systems, amnesties, im not favour because we have we not in favour because we have we have no idea of seeing whos more whos less, more eligible, whos less, who satisfies the requirements, needs to be to be to be fair. Shoaib, if we did have a complete amnesty, then human rights you wouldnt rights lawyers like you wouldnt have any cases have to fight any more cases and you get your money and you wouldnt get your money and that would be amazing. Thats exactly what you know, i mean, i would absolutely love that not necessarily that if we had not necessarily an amnesty, like what we an amnesty, but like what we call call lax call for when we call for lax immigration when we call immigration rules, when we call for a humane system , when for a humane asylum system, when we there not to be we call for there not to be rwanda when we call for rwanda schemes, when we call for people to be put onto this people not to be put onto this floating prisons. Floating prisons. Obviously, if the government didnt come up with we didnt come up with these, we wouldnt go to court wouldnt be able to go to court and wed lose our incomes. But that would be amazing if a day came when i could say, you know, theres rights theres no more human rights breaches know, breaches in the uk. You know, i have another job. That have to find another job. That would amazing. Have to find another job. That would you amazing. Have to find another job. That would you you amazing. Have to find another job. That would you you think amazing. Have to find another job. That would you you think you zing. Have to find another job. That would you you think you think so you you think you think that the bibby stockholm is a floating prison that contravenes peoples human rights . Do you . Peoples human rights . Do you . Of course i do. I do. And again, i mean, as has happened in, you know, for a number of Government Policies recently, its not just, you know, like you were just saying, the usual suspect is other people. You suspect is other people. You know, for instance, with rwanda, it was the Home Office Staff union who said, you know, if the if the government continues with this, wont process these this, we wont process these claims we theyre claims. We think theyre inhumane. Obviously not, inhumane. Theyre obviously not, you lefty loony you know, all lefty loony liberals, as you to say. Liberals, as you like to say. And similarly here as well is the fire service who are saying, look , i mean, its not safe. We look, i mean, its not safe. We shouldnt people here. Shouldnt have people here. Fire, the fire its the fire, the fire brigade, Fire Brigade Union, brigade, the Fire Brigade Union, who who are affiliated to who are who are affiliated to the labour party are saying it. The labour party are saying it. I dont see what difference that makes. So the point is, you know, they are quite Staff Members of the fire service. Those are the people we trust. Theyre the experts on this. If those are the people we trust. The homes, experts on this. If those are the people we trust. The homes, ourerts on this. If those are the people we trust. The homes, our workplace ;. If those are the people we trust. The homes, our workplace isf those are the people we trust. The homes, our workplace is if our homes, our workplace is if we want to see is this safe for me to work or live in those are the call in. Im not the people we call in. Im not sure. Know, doesnt sure. You know, it doesnt really me what party really matter to me what party they would vote for or. They would vote for or. Those are the it well well, those are the it doesnt doesnt take a genius doesnt it doesnt take a genius to does to work out, does it . Of course, that if you are affiliated political affiliated to one Political Party that you would like to see in the next general in office at the next general election is election and that party is diametrically opposed to the party thats in office now , you party thats in office now, you would do whatever you would try to do whatever you could disrupt that partys could to disrupt that partys policy. Could you, im policy. Could i ask you, im really get your your really keen to get your your views as a as a human views on this as a as a human rights lawyer, as somebody who deals situations like this deals in situations like this a lot. Were you stuck to learn the extent of the corruption amongst lawyers and solicitors where they would be willing to take cash in hand payments in order to fabricate asylum claims for people and keep them in the United Kingdom . Did that really take you back, that i mean, it did. And i think obviously thats terrible. I dont think that needs saying that we will stand against that and just like, you know, for instance, when news came about criminality within know, for instance, when news canpolicert criminality within know, for instance, when news canpolice , criminality within know, for instance, when news canpolice , imninality within know, for instance, when news canpolice , im sure ity within know, for instance, when news canpolice , im sure it within know, for instance, when news canpolice , im sure it was1in the police, im sure it was Police Officers around the Country First say we country were the first to say we need these people out. Need to weed these people out. We find out whats we need to find out whats happening. Politicians happening. Same with politicians , mps, presenters , when , mps, tv presenters, when suddenly this news erupts and suddenly this news erupts and suddenly everyone working in that field is like , you know, we that field is like, you know, we need to get rid of these people. You our profession. It just shows how easy it is, though, doesnt it . It just shows. Shows easy it shows. It just shows how easy it does. Got ten grand does. If youve got ten grand in your pocket, pay a your pocket, you could pay a lawyer and they will say to you , heres a doctors note to say that youve got some kind of psychological to. They psychological trauma to. They will manage to invent a and bull story about some catastrophic background for you. And one of them said that he was correct. Them said that he was correct. He managed to get the verdict that he wanted 90 of the time. One of these chaps was making so much money that he has much money off that that he has a multi Million Pound property empire, to eton empire, sent his kids to eton and a bmw with a private and drives a bmw with a private number plate. And actually, it number plate. And actually, it makes me wonder , is it very easy makes me wonder, is it very easy as a lawyer to just gain the asylum system . It looks like it is. Is. Well , i is. Well, i wouldnt is. Well , i wouldnt know, is. Well, i wouldnt know, but but the point is, i mean, if it is , then again, it just shows is, then again, it just shows the absolute failure of our government, the home office , government, the home office, when we have desperate, you train, is it not is it not the lawyers , so many other you know lawyers, so many other you know , really desperate, Vulnerable People who dont get access to these services they locked up. You know, were of you you know, were thinking of you know, floating bodies to accommodate these and know, floating bodies to accy here odate these and know, floating bodies to accyhere are e these and know, floating bodies to accyhere are alliese and know, floating bodies to accyhere are all these and know, floating bodies to accyhere are all these people ind yet here are all these people who just because have money who just because they have money to they game to pay lawyers, they can game the obviously , i the system. So obviously, i mean, just a very mean, i think its just a very sad indictment of our system. Sad indictment of our system. Raises raises serious it raises it raises serious questions because questions for people because we see theres human rights see now theres human rights issues, rights issues at issues, human rights issues at the stockholm barge and the bibby stockholm barge and the bibby stockholm barge and the legal letters are flying into the home office. Then theres hold when theres a big hold up. And when people read that and people see that, maybe that, they think, oh, maybe there human rights there actually are human rights issues. Know, issues. And then, you know, i look some of the cases look at some of the other cases here, success here, you get a 90 success rate. You make up backstory rate. If you make up a backstory of somebody and you just lie to the authorities and you get it, you get them into the country and it does paint a picture, doesnt it . Of lawyers knowing that actually there isnt really a massive human rights issue here, that there are a lot of people who are trying to gain their way into britain and making doing that. Making money out of doing that. And but you seem to think and you but you seem to think thats still the fault of the government and not fault of government and not the fault of lawyers. Your colleagues. Lawyers. Your colleagues. No, of course its their fault. For most. I mean, how would it not be . And i think thats what i started off saying. Absolutely saying. Im absolutely condemning did. Im condemning what they did. Im glad rid of them from glad to be rid of them from our profession. As profession. I think as far as i understand, days the sra understand, within days the sra closed firms down. And closed those firms down. And thats. I just thats wonderful. I just think the needs to be more the effort needs to be more vigilant and the government needs to be more vigilant and the office needs to the Home Office Needs to be doing its job. The home office job to stamping job isnt just to be stamping passports granting visas. Passports and granting visas. Its visas to people its to grant visas to people who them, who who need them, people who satisfy requirements. So of satisfy the requirements. So of course , thats the home office course, thats the home office job. If i came to you now and i said i need asylum in britain because this is what people were doing, and apparently we got a 90 success rate. Look , i just want to stay in look, i just want to stay in britain , all right . And if you britain, all right . And if you happen to have a doctor that was willing to write me a note to say i had depression on and you were to say that i was were able to say that i was persecuted for something in my home country and i had £10,000. And could you keep me in britain. And could i or might there be lawyers who might be able to help you . So if there are doctors who can you and theres lawyers can help you and theres lawyers who you. So basically who can help you. So basically you evidence then . You have all the evidence then . Yes. Mean, the whole point is, yes. I mean, the whole point is, obviously you need the evidence to Something Like to be able to do Something Like that. Point is, the that. But the point is, of the i dont 200,000 dont know, almost 200,000 solicitors you find solicitors in the uk, you find four who doing that or four who were doing that or i dont know many hundred dont know how many hundred thousand have. Thousand doctors we have. If theres handful doing that, theres a handful doing that, then sure. I mean, how then im not sure. I mean, how we generalise based on that. We can generalise based on that. You know, said, i mean, you know, like i said, i mean, isnt the issue with, you isnt that the issue with, you know, mean, know, have know, i mean, you know, we have mps we have mps convicted of rape. We have tv accused of all tv presenters accused of all sorts i i think sorts of things. I mean, i think its then start its terrible when we then start generalising and looking at everyone of everyone from that point of view. Mean, i think thats view. So i mean, i think thats something that and something that the media and others need saying to the others need to be saying to the pubuc others need to be saying to the public yes, its public that, look, yes, its these they were these four solicitors, they were caught , theyve firms caught, theyve had their firms shut down. So, you know, we cant really blame others for that. There are others that. And if there are others out there, there are authorities. Whose authorities. Whos whose responsibility is to make sure those solicitors dont stay in business. So, look, thank you very much. To great have you on the show. Really appreciate your chat. Who is chat. Shoaib khan there, who is a rights lawyer, a human rights lawyer, just discussing. Yeah, all things discussing. Well now, as if by magic it feeds perfectly into this story , our banks becoming anti story, our banks becoming anti tory. The nigel farage saga rumbles on. Yep but we all know its not just nigel whos been affected by this. Im asking this because there are reports of jeremy hunt being refused a bank account by a member of staff of monzo , which is a bank, staff of monzo, which is a bank, of course, who apparently called tories evil. So if youre a tory now, are you going to be de banking . Im Patrick Christys on gb news britains channel okay. So as britain is battered by thunderstorms, its emerged that most of last months wildfires in greece were actually started deliberately. Who knew . Well the greek media and the authorities at the time who were telling everybody over there. Of course , that there. But of course, that didnt through to us over didnt filter through to us over here, did it . But why wont the Climate Change scaremongering has actually just come out and i admit it, but Police Officers as well are known as the boys in blue. I will show you one new recruit who social media trolls claim is just ten years old. I say fair play to this lad. Anyone who puts on a Police Uniform and goes out there to protect our streets deserves our respect. But has he done his gcse anyway . The chancellor, jeremy hunt, has already said that monzo bank refused to give him an account and its now been reported that workers talk negatively about the conservative party saying they were evil and they were happy when the tories lost the by elections. They also had some harsh words about gb news presenter and tory mp sirjacob presenter and tory mp sir jacob rees mogg, suggesting it would be good if he quit politics. There we go. Well, im joined now by Cameron Parry bank challenger and founder of tally money. Thank you very much. Great to have you in the studio. This to me highlights again that there is an anti tory feeling potentially amongst certain sectors of the banking industry. And if you are a conservative, you will run the risk of not being allowed to have a bank account. Yes i mean, there are two sort of separate issues there. If youve got a culture where on i dont know for your viewers, but slack is like an open forum where you can have groups that can chat in real time rather than email. For example , which would be a direct example, which would be a direct communication. If youve got forums in organisation forums in your organisation where people are making, you know , various comments and know, various comments and everybodys entitled to privately have whatever view they want, i mean , thats kind they want, i mean, thats kind of a healthy thing. As as of a healthy thing. As long as you that , that you get that, that, that, that diversity of discussion and thought. But if, if its sort of thought. But if, if its sort of a theres a theres a culture there that made it sort of toxic where anybody who didnt have that view didnt feel like they could come forward and somehow the telegraph have got this dossier from somewhere from an employee if theyve released that , because they go, look, that, because they go, look, this is going on and theres nothing i can do internally that would that would demonstrate theres a toxic there. Theres a toxic culture there. So youve either some child so youve either got some child like comments maybe like comments which maybe reflect not a great level of respect for people generally. It makes you wonder what they think of some of their 7 million customers because theyre not all have same view all going to have the same view of of these these of what some of these these people you know people are saying. So, you know , youd like to think that the wherever you bank, you know, the staff actually have a just a base level of respect. What is the overarching customers what is the overarching culture in the banking i mean, Banking Sector, though . I mean, from being unearthed at from what is being unearthed at the nigel farage and the moment by nigel farage and potentially by jeremy hunt as well , is it potentially by jeremy hunt as well, is it people be well, is it people will be forgiven for thinking that there was, quite a an was, you know, quite a an extensive spiders web , as it extensive spiders web, as it were, of left wing thought that did exclude anybody or tried to exclude anybody who felt differently from them. Yeah , the de banking part. So yeah, the de banking part. So theres one thing to have views and maybe at the very least, this is just unprofessional. I mean , back in april, monzo were mean, back in april, monzo were found out staff are having a go at a customer disagreed with at a customer who disagreed with them them why they had them and asked them why they had a dei policies and that and so they just started insulting him on on linkedin, you know, on a pubuc on on linkedin, you know, on a public. Its completely public forum. Its completely unprofessional. It does unprofessional. And it does reflect you have some sort reflect that you have some sort of arrogant world of arrogant view of the world where who disagrees with where anybody who disagrees with you idiot, which is you is an idiot, which is obviously makes idiot. Obviously makes you an idiot. Frankly, if you think that way. Its childlike behaviour. Its very childlike behaviour. If management in monzo get in there and stop that, if they reprimand , reprimand those reprimand, reprimand those people , as i say, at the very people, as i say, at the very least, its unprofessional to do that in your workplace. But theres no contrition in what monzo came out and said about that. They just that their that. They just said that their views the banks. Views dont represent the banks. And enough. And i think thats fair enough. But saying it also but theyre not saying it also doesnt up to doesnt measure up to the standards that we want to have here. The reason i asked this is that there is a difference between nigel farage cootes account or somebody with some kind of Wealth Account having that account frozen or remove or whatever, and trying to get that back. Whatever, and trying to get that back. People who are overtly back. People who are overtly political be exposed, people in some cases , people who are some cases, people who are genuinely , deeply controversial genuinely, deeply controversial and ordinary members of the pubuc and ordinary members of the public who might have put a few twitter posts out about the fact that they are not happy about whats going on in the channel or that theyre going to vote conservative next conservative at the next election. Being election. Those people being debunked banks now gearing debunked are banks now gearing up for massive compensation claims, do you think , to people claims, do you think, to people or not . It depends. We still need it depends. We still need more information to come out about is. The fact about how rife this is. The fact that there are what would we call them, certain views really going right through a lot of institutions now. And we see this both corporately and public institutions. And its very institutions. And its very self evident now. But, you know, self evident now. But, you know, as we get more information around that, we cant just assume that all these people are being debunked. We need to find out and see if there are, you know, hundreds or even thousands of being debunked of people being debunked on this basis, because thats an entirely thing. Basis, because thats an ent and thing. Basis, because thats an ent and comes ng. Basis, because thats an ent and comes through and that comes through subject requests most subject access requests most of the it . And so banks the time wont it . And so banks now didnt already now will, if they didnt already be at the minimum, be having to, at the minimum, setting up, i imagine dedicated departments to deal with the wave of the tidal wave of subjects, access requests theyre getting. Yeah, thats right. Theyve done themselves favours here, done themselves no favours here, but all to protect their reputation , of course, in the reputation, of course, in the first place was was the reasons behind the nigel farage thing. Ironic twist, isnt it . Its ironic twist, isnt it . Its ironic twist, isnt it . Exactly. Again , it still exactly. But again, it still comes back to a basic hypocrisy. I if if you think we. I mean, if you if you think we should be compassionate for each other and we believe in different backgrounds, different views , its completely hypocrisy views, its completely hypocrisy , hypocritical to say that. And then say, but only if you think that only if you only if you think about it in the way that my mind frames it. Yeah. Just ridiculous. Its just ridiculous. I hope that actually spreads that this actually spreads itself out beyond the banking world. Real world. And ive got a real feeling that it will because its means the banking its by no means the Banking Sector it sector are you alluded to it there, if not at all. Its everywhere. Its public sector. Its on. Its everything. Go on. Patrick, we if i could say, patrick, we need leadership in these organisations. I would be organisations. So i would be right on top of any of our staff if they behave like this with this of disrespect towards this kind of disrespect towards customers this kind of customers or, or this kind of behaviour, its not because they shouldnt. Have different views and at tally and we welcome that at tally money, but they should be professional mean theyre money, but they should be profestoynal mean theyre money, but they should be profesto dol mean theyre money, but they should be profesto do a mean theyre money, but they should be profesto do a jobiean theyre money, but they should be profesto do a job ultimately; money, but they should be profesto do a job ultimately , there to do a job ultimately, whats being whats our purpose of being deliver product , right, deliver a great product, right, for yes its not for the consumer . Yes its not rocket science. The high level principle of what youre doing. Principle of what youre doing. So to get. So, look, it needs to so to get. So, look, it needs to come from the leaders, these toxic cultures come from the top. We saw it with natwest and. Coutts absolutely. Again, i just cant believe the ceo of coutts, Peter Lavelle , has just Peter Lavelle, has just completely disappeared. He was silent on that whole thing. He had one comment like one letter of resignation and hes been left alone. I think theres a lot more to come out of that scandal and that is about de banking in the monzo thing i think is almost just management needs to get their act together and the leadership in monzo need to actually get their act together and train their staff about what theyre there who about what theyre there and who theyre serve. Theyre there to serve. Stuff. You mentioned no good stuff. You mentioned about cultures we about toxic cultures there we hear often dont we, about hear so often dont we, about investigations into toxic cultures in a workplace. And usually you know , boys usually its, you know, boys around cooler somewhere around a water cooler somewhere talking about female members of staff or all of that stuff. But actually the real toxic culture, i think is a little bit like some of the stuff weve been speaking about there, it . Speaking about there, isnt it . Which whether not you can which is whether or not you can be frankly, for be cancelled, frankly, for basically conservative. Basically being conservative. Cameron thank you very much. Cameron thank you very much. Cameron at bank cameron perry, there at bank challenger of tally challenger and founder of tally money. Spokeswoman for money. Now a spokeswoman for monzo said our ambition is to make money work for everyone , make money work for everyone, which means that were politically neutral and personal views play no part in our policies or Decision Making , policies or Decision Making, including eligibility for a monzo account and any suggestion otherwise is categorically untrue. Good stuff. Loads more. Untrue. Good stuff. Loads more. Still to come between now and 6 00. Have we been told the whole truth about last months wildfires in greece . The greeks wildfires in greece . The greeks say the vast majority were actually down to arson. In fact , if anyone had bothered to check the greeks were saying that at the time. But many people they were caused people say they were caused by Climate Change. Were Climate Change. And now were heanng Climate Change. And now were hearing extreme hearing all about extreme weather uk as well, weather here in the uk as well, arent and why arent we . You couldnt move for expert , its experts move for expert, its experts claiming that it was all down to Climate Change. The greek island of rhodes was badly hit. Thousands of british tourists were evacuated two weeks ago. The daily mirror front page said that the fires were, get this, the terrifying reality of todays climate crisis. Look at that. God as a child being carried away from flames by a firefighter. Look burning up heatwave from hell. But today , heatwave from hell. But today, the same paper has confirmed that most of the fires were started deliberately or by criminal negligence. That is not on the front page. You will note, in fact , its buried away note, in fact, its buried away on page nine. I can now speak to the Deputy Director of net zero. What andrew mumford. Andrew, what andrew mumford. Andrew, thank you very much for coming on the show. At the time of the fires in greece, i was in greece and greek media were reporting extensively that this was arson. They also had drone footage of people setting alight to essentially forest areas. British media was obsessed with the idea that this was Climate Change and it came hot off the press of those weather maps where everything was painted bright red the whole time. It was scorchio non stop. Why do was scorchio non stop. Why do you think the majority of the british media is so keen to lie to us and say that we are all dying from. Fire dying from. Fire for the british media, the whole subject of Climate Change is and energy and really anything else to do with it is covered by environmental journalists rather than economic journalists rather than economic journalists or anything like that. These people are are theyre activists , really. Activists, really. Theyre not interested in reporting the truth. Theyre interested in persuading people that Climate Change is a problem because then particular policy , any particular policy, any particular policy, any particular policies can be put into place. So yeah, i think on the whole, people need to be avoiding the Mainstream Media on subjects like climate and energy, because you know, youre not going to hear the truth. The not going to hear the truth. The idea that these these fires were something to do with Climate Change is when you think about it , completely ridiculous. The it, completely ridiculous. The mediterranean has always been bone dry. In july. I mean, its not like, well , thats why not like, well, thats why people go there in july , isnt it . Thats thats why the mediterranean is a ginormous houday mediterranean is a ginormous holiday destination because people pay lots of money to go to a place thats bone dry. In july. July. Absolutely. I mean, i can remember being in the south of france, 30 years ago, and it was, you know , getting on for 40 degrees. You know, that that its always been that way. Always been that way. You know, there may be a case that the fire season is a little bit longer now that that may be the case. But the idea that these fires were caused by Climate Change is a nonsense. You know, dry a nonsense. You know, dry weather doesnt cause fires. You weather doesnt cause fires. You need a source of ignition. And need a source of ignition. And that tends to mean people in some way or another, you know, occasion lightning. But but, you know , mainly its people. Know, mainly its people. But thats the thing. And but thats the thing. And they cant weasel out of this and look, people can say , and go, look, people can say, absolutely, you know, Climate Change is something that we need to be very aware of. And if theres anything that we do theres anything that we can do to that our to try to ensure that our environment is better for all of us. Yeah, of course. Of course. You know that all goes without saying. But at the same time, scaring the bejesus out of people it comes to, you people when it comes to, you know, big towering infernos in places corfu and rhodes and places like corfu and rhodes and greece and all of these places, when source that when actually the source of that fire was someone with a lighter, a canopy , petrol and well, quite a canopy, petrol and well, quite an evil heart by the looks of things. And, and surely that deserves to be at least reported with the same prominence that the Climate Change angle was reported. Reported. Yeah. I mean you probably dont want to get me started on the Mainstream Media in the uk because they are appalling on on climate and you know , as Climate Change and you know, as you the maps with the lurid you say, the maps with the lurid colours are i mean its getting ridiculous now isnt it. Its theyve really gone too far and i think they risk like exposing themselves, if you like, exposing their activism to the world. Everybody is going to start to realise from these ridiculously coloured maps that you know that people are trying to sell them something and theyre, you know, theyre trying to them, you know, trying to sell them, you know, some policy ideas. Theyre not trying them what trying to tell them what the weather like. Weather is really like. Talk to me about andrew. Talk to me about andrew. During the just on that just on that just that. On that just on that. Andrew, talk me about andrew, just talk to me about that, that that, because i think that rounds nicely. This that, because i think that ro what nicely. This that, because i think that ro what i nicely. This that, because i think that ro what i was nicely. This that, because i think that ro what i was wondering. This that, because i think that ro what i was wondering. Tii s that, because i think that ro what i was wondering. Tii was is what i was wondering as i was there, you know, in greece reading media, looking reading the local media, looking at media, which was at the local media, which was telling that was indeed telling me that it was indeed arson. Turn on the arson. And then i turn on the british media where i was being told this was indeed told that this was indeed Climate Change. And i was thinking, okay, why is this and why is this happening . Is there a group of very, very profound vocal green activists, Climate Change pressure groups who are making this stuff happen, who are in infiltrating the british media and who are infiltrating, you know, our society in order to push push an agenda . Because again, i want to emphasise that its not that i dont think Climate Change exists, but when you look at the extent to which they are trying to force us down a rabbit hole, well, we end up in increasing our taxes massively , swallowing a load of massively, swallowing a load of green policies , our lives being green policies, our lives being negatively impacted in order to account for Climate Change at the rapid rate with which they are pushing for it. I find that odd. Odd. Yeah. I mean, i dont think you want to think in terms of it, in terms of being a conspiracy of some sort. I mean, its essentially its a religion. And these people have been theyre bound together by a fear of Climate Change. They they they have got this idea in their head that were facing an existential threat. And so going out and trying to persuade everybody else that theres an existential threat and perhaps sort of pushing the boundanes and perhaps sort of pushing the boundaries of truth. And pushing boundaries of truth. And pushing the facts further than they want to go. Therefore seems to them like a necessary evil. Its like a necessary evil. Its a white these are white lies as far as theyre concerned. Um, so, yeah , they will carry on so, yeah, they will carry on doing that until we start laughing at them. I think thats eventually, thats really what has to happen. I think we have to start how ridiculous they are. I think unfortunately at that time may well be coming and it will do their cause a big disservice actually, because there environmental there are genuine environmental and disasters out and ecological disasters out there. There are impending genuine environmental and ecological disasters. People do need to more to sort out the need to do more to sort out the environment just just generally in variety different ways. Environment just just generally in thenty differentways. Environment just just generally in then people fferent ways. Environment just just generally in then people look|t ways. Environment just just generally in then people look at,ays. Environment just just generally in then people look at, you and then people look at, you know, potentially drone footage of deliberately setting of someone deliberately setting fire patch green fire to a patch of green countryside load of countryside and then a load of the media lapping it up as Climate Change. You think, Climate Change. And you think, well, minute, do well, hang on a minute, do i believe next time believe you next time about plastics ocean plastics in the ocean or something . Look, something . But, andrew, look, thank much. Thank you very, very much. Andrew montford there, whos the deputy zero. Deputy director of net zero. Watch okay. Theres an watch right. Okay. Theres an old saying that, you know, youre getting old when the police start to look younger, but social media trolls say one teenager whos joined West Yorkshire police is actually just ten years old. I think massive credit to anyone who puts on that Police Uniform and walks towards danger. But they are getting a bit young. Patrick christys on gb news, britains channel government minister Michelle Donelan has slammed labour mp carl turner, accusing him of posting a fake image of rishi sunak. Posting a fake image of rishi sunak. The picture shows a pint sunak. The picture shows a pint of stout that the Prime Minister pulled at the Great British beer festival yesterday. It was festival yesterday. It was tweeted by labour mp carl turner, and its fair to say it looks like a total mess. And of course behind is course the lady behind him is giving him severe side eye. But Michelle Donelan tweeted Michelle Donelan then tweeted the photo and looks the original photo and it looks like rishi sunak didnt do a bad job, especially considering his teetotal. Says that it was teetotal. She says that it was pretty desperate stuff from laboun pretty desperate stuff from labour. At least three labour mps have tweeted now the original photo carl turner , original photo carl turner, shadow minister. Bill esterson and former leadership contender dame angela eagle. They all bought into the lie, didnt they . So there you go. But talking of dodgy pictures, they say that, you know, youre getting old when the police start to look younger. But social media trolls say that one teenager whos joined West Yorkshire police, hes actually just ten years old, super intendent helen brewer has hit back at the trolls for posting offensive comments about alfie and noah. Her defence of the Police Students has been seen by more than 150,000 people. Shes been praised for backing her officers against. Online officers against. Online bullying, which may got an arrest. A few of them actually. That would interesting. But that would be interesting. But look can look for more on this, we can speak Police Officer speak to former Police Officer chris chris thank you chris hobbs. Chris thank you very much. Have tremendous very much. I have tremendous respect goes and respect for anybody who goes and puts and walks puts on that uniform and walks towards danger and an towards danger and just an incredibly job, incredibly difficult job, especially if they happen to have the body of a child. Have the body of a child. Appearances can be very deceptive. I mean, he may look young, but he would have got through some tough tests to get in the police. He would have had to have a fitness test that would included strength would have included a strength test. Got to have and youve got to have character. And i suspect hes got a lot of character. Cant go appearances you cant go by appearances alone. At the end of the day, alone. At the end of the day, a 14 year old could be proved very difficult to arrest and very proficient. For example, in the martial arts or boxing. If hes been training for a while. Been training for a while. I think its really unfortunate that a young pc is to off a start in his career with people mocking him. Hes going to go out. Policing has never been more challenging, never been more dangerous, and hes going to go out and really hes going to go out and really hes going to go out with this, which he will neven out with this, which he will never, ever forget. I feel very, very sorry for him genuinely , very sorry for him genuinely, because i think that especially in this current day and age, any young recruits that the police can get who volunteer to go and join that police force who think its a great career option for them, they deserve massive amounts respect and it is amounts of respect and it is a real shame, i think, that this lad been mocked lad obviously has been mocked online, but on a slightly more serious note, you alluded to it there. You know, all the physical tests for Police Officers is good enough. I mean, in an ideal world, we would have an army of tyson furys, wouldnt we, out on the streets. But we dont have. Have that. Its hard to say, to be quite honest. When i joined, there was no physical test and really just a medical. A medical. And you were expected to get yourself up to a certain standard when you started at training school. Now, these training school. Now, these days, schools are days, training schools are almost a thing of the past, but we would do 15, 16 weeks. And if physically we werent up to up to it, then wed be shown the doon to it, then wed be shown the door. Was really up to door. But it was really up to you. Up to yourself. Did have you. Up to yourself. We did have a medical, but there were no strength there was no strength tests. There was no fitness to long fitness tests to see how long you could running for, as you could keep running for, as it tests. That was it were. Bleep tests. That was it. Its all been a little it. So its all been a little new. So better than it was, new. So its better than it was, better than it was with that with that there, though, with that lad there, though, just picture up just bring the picture back up again second again in a second now. Not but hes obviously not massive. He does he does look massive. He does he does look like a child quite childlike looking. Would you send him to, you know , the scene of a murder . You know, the scene of a murder . Would Something Else to be done about is about that or is it indiscriminate . Goes indiscriminate . The radio goes off would be my off because that would be my concern great. Thank off because that would be my con thats a problem. He will go to these calls. He will have to do these calls. He will have to do the best he can. He hopefully will be doubled up. But then you want you would want all officers to paired up. To be paired up. While got just quickly while ive got you, another police you, there was another police story doing the rounds today in a about how people who are a way about how people who are shoplifters and drug users, etcetera, might not find themselves in court. I looked at that and i thought, thats really bad news for the bloke or lady who owns the local corner shop now just be shop who now will just be fearing people going in, looting and nothing happening to them. Wed like to have a long, much chat this. Much longer chat about this. I think there is a bakery where i live closed live in ealing that shuts closed because they were being robbed frequently. People just go in and help themselves. Wenzels theyve now shut down because people were just going and robbing the place and because of intimidation of staff. So its a real problem. But the bottom line are full up. Line is the courts are full up. The prisons are full up. The crown prosecution service, even where get to the stage where police get to the stage where police get to the stage where they submit papers to the cps, theyve had cuts. And very cps, theyve had cuts. And very often a case goes nowhere because the cps says for whatever reason, we cant deal with this. So im not certain, to be quite honest that the governments intentions will play governments intentions will play out in the real world. Its a shame because businesses are going under around my way. Were suffering because of antisocial behaviour, because of drug deaung behaviour, because of drug dealing and drug taking. But the dealing and drug taking. But the police jam is too thinly spread and whether not answering Mental Health calls is to going make a difference. Well, yeah, i doubt and to be quite honest, the first death that you get because police havent attended a Mental Health court. Well, exactly. Then you will see the cool handler or the officer whos made that decision. Probably being thrown under the bus. Being thrown under the bus. Thank you very, very much. Great to have you on. Great to have you in the studio, as well as whos, of as chris hobbs there, whos, of course, Police Officer. Course, a former Police Officer.
