GAPS board favors Rob Saxton to be interim superintendent
Normally, the process to appoint an interim superintendent would take much longer, but the board voted to suspend the typical policy.

ALBANY, Ore. --- At the conclusion of Friday's meeting, Greater Albany Public School district board members favored Rob Saxton to be the district's interm superintendent.
Saxton formerly worked as a deputy superintendent on the state level.
Dozens of protestors gathered outside of the meeting to contest the board's decision to move forward in the search for an interim superintendent. Many of them said the decision to fire Melissa Goff was done too quickly.
