Gábor Fabricius’ “Erasing Frank” has been added to the Cannes market lineup by Totem Films, a Paris-based worldwide sales, and production firm.
The film is set in Budapest in 1983, behind the Eastern European Iron Curtain, and follows Frank, the dynamic vocalist of a banned punk band who represents their generation against a totalitarian dictatorship. Frank will risk everything to resist being sent to a police psychiatric facility in an attempt to silence him.
Otherside Stories is producing the film, which is being financed by the National Film Institute of Hungary.
Fabricius, a Central Saint-Martins College London graduate, has written two books and directed a number of short films. His first feature film is titled “Erasing Frank.”
