GUWAHATI: With Covid vaccination picking up, the number of fresh Covid-19 cases has come down in Assam, with Guwahati reporting no fresh case thrice in the past 10 days.
While only eight positive cases were detected from across the state on Tuesday, the number of positive cases was nil in Guwahati on Tuesday. According to Union health ministry statistics, there are 2,183 active Covid cases as on Wednesday morning — a decrease by 82 from a day earlier.
Health experts felt that for the first time in over nine months — during which a large number of cases were being reported in the state, with Kamrup (Metro) reporting the maximum number of incidences — the situation appears to be improving for the better.
