Neil it it happen again, watching and waiting know for Israels Response after iran launches missiles close to 200 over its kind just a few hours ago. President biden is ordering the pentagon to defend our allies in the skies and two for themselves not. Welcome everybody im Neil Cavuto again about 200 Ballistic Missiles launched at israel from iran, we are told right now that sounds were hurled across israel repeated times as the number of people took shelter, most of the missiles fired were intercepted. There was Participation And Help from at least two u. S. Naval destroyers. Were piecing together a lot right now. First the latest from high Fire Israel thats where well find our trey yingst. Nine an afternoon. Are really significant to their Development Tonight as israel came under attack from iranian Ballistic Missiles, the Israeli Military says more than 180 of them were launched toward the country, many of them were intercepted by israels advanced Missile Defense System, the arrow three system. But others slammed into open areas. There were no significant casualties reported but officials are still assessing the damage here on the ground. Just to give you a sense of what it was like from our position in Northern Israel because he does Ballistic Missiles coming in waves from the direction of syria. Many intersections took place in the distance at a very high and chewed attitude of the Sniffen System is working overtime trying to intercept this incoming fire and the iranians sending themselves in a way that they were hopeful someone slipped past and Target Date israeli population centers. Parents were sounding across most of this country as millions of people headed to bomb shelters and tonight were getting more information about how the israelis might be preparing for a possible response, we understand israeli Security Cabinet is meeting tonight. Theyre looking at all the facts on the ground and talking with their american counterparts about what exactly took place. The iranians say on State Media that a fadi 4 missile was used for the first time and this is a hypersonic Ballistic Missile that was not used during the Attack Back in april when the iranians targeted israel with just over many of them intercepted by israels most advanced cell defense system. Other of them surpassed the system and slammed into the ground below. Israeli officials are meeting tonight to determine what their response will be to this largescale attack and already, israeli officials are talking with local media, weve been speaking with our sources in the israeli Defense Ministry and they say its not a question of if israel will respond but rather when and where. Neo . Neil if israel responds as you said that seems to be inevitable. Iran is already promised that it would have a crushing response to that response so where are we . Its not a good situation and is rapidly unraveling. Weve got another statement from the office of the Supreme Leader in iran earlier today. And they took credit for the Missile Attack and said that it was a direct response for the killing of the leader of hezbollah, hassan Nasrallah And Michael was targeted in an israeli strike in beirut last weekend. Also for the deputy iranian commander who was alongside him, killed in the strike. And finally the leader of hamas, Melania Met A Man who was killed over the summer In Tehran at the inauguration of the there was and that tonight is what the region is waiting for understanding that this moment was unprecedented, neil. The iranians try to overwhelm israels Missile Defense System and millions of people across the country sheltered where they could, that the cover on the side of the road, we saw images of people trying to shelter in the ditch in between the main expressway on Israels Route one the Connection Jerusalem and Tel Aviv here In The City of haifa again in the distance we could see those interceptions taking place. And people across israels economic hub of Tel Aviv were in shelters. Is a significant escalation and again this is not a question of if Israel Rentals found according to officials but rather when and where. Neil to appoint a national Security Advisor Jake sullivan had said the u. S. Is not triggering any Emergency Evacuations in lebanon because there was Rate Or Incursion or whatever you want to call them on the part of israel continue, continue, intercut atop, you know, Terrace Or Group operative earlier today and provided against weaponry for hezbollah but that goes on i belabor up to seven or eight hezbollah top officials beginning with nasrallah at the time who had been taken up by israels with her doing that, were not taking personnels or calling for the evacuations from lebanon. Separately we get reports that jordan is under a state of high Alert Promotion for all of these countries had their airspace to close. So they seem to be bracing for something. Yeah, absolutely, neil, and we should talk about what happened last name that, are so many developments here is hard to keep up with whats happening on the ground in the Middle East right now but into Southern Lebanon to target Hezbollah Positions. And my team and i were with an israeli Commando Units overnight, we stayed out throughout the night and entered in the middle of the night Southern Lebanon, and went to this Hezbollah Position that was carved into the side of a mountain. And got a firsthand look at what the Israelis Say was a Storage Facility for the weapons that iran has been smuggling first into syria and then into Southern Lebanon and then launching into israel. And it was a firsthand look at the Troop Buildup also on the border. And i can tell you that many of the disorders that we saw out, there were preparing to stay for a significant amount of time. And so israel is now fighting a Ground War in lebanon, there still fighting a war against hamas In Gaza, just two hours ago the retargeting with 180 Ballistic Missiles from iran. Earlier in the week the iran back with the rebels from Human LogicBallistic Missile at Tel Aviv, are new threats from iran back to iraq in and she today there was a Terror Attack in Tel AvivIn The City of jaffa just to the south of Tel Aviv that killed six people on a Light Rail train. And so the Security Situation right now is at the highest level it can be. The alert is extremely high, the Alarm Bells are standing, neil, and the situation across the region is rapidly deteriorating. Neil trey, bc if my friend and your crew. For use in the middle of a liberal. Want to go to the former u. S. Central command commander. General, what is your take on this and what could come next . Will hear from obviously israels ambassador very soon but for the time being, they said they would respond to this, you heard the threats from iran that any such response would be met with a quick and crushing series of attacks itself. So where do you think we are . Thanks, neil, its good to be you again. Theres No Doubt that israel will respond to this and i do suspect that their response will be much stronger there was the last time. Their variety of targets that they can go after, taken grauke military commandandcontrol, they could go after facilities that are associated with the iranian nuclear program, they could go after Gas And Oil targets that will put more pressure on the iranian economy. So theyve got a lot of things that they can do. I suspect theyre going nor working their way through that right now and i think what they want to do it i think they want to send a message to iran with a strong strike and full something causes them to back down. Whether iran will do that again will do that is another matter but i think when you look at todays attack, 181 missiles, most of which it appears the did not cause any significant damage on the ground in israel is another failed response by our iran. I think israel has the upper hand in and i think he will try to emphasize now with a strong response. Neil the question, general, what our role will be. I know we heard Nurse Mark Mark mark one appears at least to defend israel and i do think a strong posture, we reinforce in the last few days with some additional fighter squadrons, it sent not only an important message to israel that we are with them and we are going to help defend them but i think it sent an important message across the region and hopefully, you know, back up our policy, our words and hopefully lead to some particular points to some type of ceasefire or political process here. Neil you know, its interesting, general, because i was looking at the markets, the republican for a while today, the dow was about 400 points and Refinish Or Oiler they trade in europe, but again, it was largely unconcerned that this could escalate and not dissipated as the day continued. As i said a lot of those big losses were cut in half and make a lot of those big oil gains, you know, felt a little bit as the day ensued. Is discrete not in not that youre a Market Guy but a very good military guy, isnt getting, you know, ahead of it assuming that the worst is over . Yeah. May be. Again, the strong presence of late and i think thats have a reassuring aspect of this and not maybe some of it as well. I think the markets obviously response what is happening in the region, you know, as weve learned for decades now, then stability in the Middle East generally doesnt stay there, it stretches to other places and so that i think, you know, would cause some problems with, you know, with our markets and i think that iS Probably what were seeing here. Neil well said. General, thank you very much and for your service to this country and to put what the generals that in perspective, were almost on the Oneyear Anniversary of the october seventh Hamas Attack on israel and just about how the markets have responded, there up about 30 from that time and fears that oil could rocket over 100 of barrel simply never materialized were more like in and out of 69point 17a i mention that to say that the worries are pronounced and for the time being, theyre not panning out. At least for the time. Were waiting for a couple of developments israels official response to as ambassador to the United Nations might have a thing or two to say about Todays Development were also learning today that President Biden has added some interesting comments on the latest of elements and we take a look right now. Beirut and Tel Aviv and you name it a region that is on Tenterhooks Year but again the tech for tax continues and what can be done engage to keep it at a minimum so that the whole region doesnt blow up. Im the one that really needs the break, not the people that are already rich and have the money. Israeli troops and their counterparts and regard to continue to watch throughout the day. Which you have your updates when we get them and we will do that and i want to turn to what we talked about today, damage done by this horrible hurricane. My top Variety Reality is to ensure the get the Help And Support they need as quickly aS Possible, as quickly aS Possible. As we watched the storm from the Gulf Region also thiS Point and resources and ensure that we are ready to deal with what is expected and do support all the folks in need. We had over 1000 federal personnel including searchandrescue teams at the ready underground before it hit, national Air Force Base in alabama became a Staging Ground for responders throughout the entire region. With 2. 7 million meals and the 2 Million liters of water ready d distributed before the hurricane hit, still with all thiS Preparation, this is a hurricane of unprecedented, historic proportions. For the past several days of been in regular contact with the governors, the mayors, county officials in all affected areas that includes far, North Carolina, South Carolina and georgia, tennessee, alabama and virginia. Now, in the Storms Wake of directed my team including the leadership of key partners and agencies all across the government to send every and i mean this seriously, every l available resource we have on our disposal to the effective region. And thats why we are here today with the cabinets and those acting in the cabinet because some are deployed already. The department are forced defense, agriculture, transportation, energy, common security, epa, commerce, small Business Association and u. S. Corps of engineers, they need to be all working together and thats what were going to talk about that new coordination we are going. Admin in in contact with and we have to jumpstart this recovery process. People are scared to death. People wondering whether theyre going to make it. We still havent heard from a whole lot of people. This is urgent. People have to know how to know how to get the information they need. So well be there to work until the work is done i dont have a number, but is going to cost billions of dollars to restore these areas where they were before. Until the work is done were going to stay. As i said, congress needs to make sure that states have every available resource and we have an obligation. This is a storm of historic proportion, blessing like this has happened in the region since the turn of the 20th century. Any glass was 1914, 1916, in that range. Toyota is what were here to this class, the detail of how this is and it is going to take a long time. Its going to take a long haul to restore needS Places and im going to be heading down anyway, lb in the region wednesday. And we had people down there already. This is going to be this is really consequential. Homes washed away, entire roads washed up. Its devastating. And so were going to is going to take a lot of Work And Coordination and if this were in the middle of the Term Id be asking congress for to prepare the money that we need now for and the materials that we need for dealing with these devastating storms. Is going to cost is that the speaker calling me . [laughter] he says hes in, right. Anyway. Were going to now have our cabinet meeting. Thank you all for being here. [simultaneous talking] president Joe Biden thats an active discussion right now. Weve been in constant contact with the israeli government and our counterparts in that remains to be seen. What is your message to pay mr. Netanyahu and have you spoken with him today . President Joe Biden i havent spoken to him, weve spoken to all hiS People and theyll be talking to him and my missions to the pentagon what you believe the consequences for a wrench be . President Joe Biden that remains to be seen. Thank you. [simultaneous talking] thank you. Thank you so much. Neil we always wait to see if he saw something else. Lets listen in here. Okay maybe its not. Alejandro mayorkas within the Homeland Security Secretary by the way just on helene and the storm and the fallout here, which will be getting into later initial as well, 134 dead, that is the known account, 33 of those in North Carolina the single hundreds are still not being heard from, largely because of Power Outages that affect 2 Million in the 60s Region and virtually the entire astral North Carolina area so keep an eye on that. Peter doocy keeping and i on the White House, keeping and i on all these developments. Peter Harriswalz Press secretary and also secretary mallorcas international Security Advisory take sullivan and the crux of it was that just because no One Nobody is known to be killed from the ballistic Missile Attack in israel does that mean that the united States Government is taking this lightly. This is a significant escalation by iran, and significant events. And is equally significant that we were able to step up with israel and create a situation in which No One was killed in this attack in israel so far as we know at this time. We are now going to look at what the appropriate next steps are to secure first and foremost american interests and then to promote superior stability to the maximum mack. Had been well documented over the last couple of months that President Biden and Vice President harris coupled out The Word publicly to the ayatollah in iran dont know we know that the ayatollah does not listen to them. We also know that since President Biden took office,s administration several times has unfrozen accounts that add up to billions of dollars of iranian money for the iranian government have access to give standardized for him and Attorney Nuisance and are insisting today that they still have the most muscular posture possible towards ir iran. We have not lifted any a single function primitive anything and other said moments ago we increase pressure. President biden says he is going to dr. Netanyahu, theyve been in somewhat regular communications since october seventh almost a full year ago. But there are no talk not talking over time so they two of them are expected to have some kind of a kind chats about next steps at some point very soon, neil. Neil peter, thank you very much, peter doocy. Jennifer gracie ratt the pentagon. I was there was not a lot of heads of our coordination on that so obviously this is a different matter, i get back but what are you hearing at the pentagon . We just had a briefing here at the pentagon and we were told the latest assessments but i think it is natural that the u. S. Has always said that it will defend israel and so it has some unique assets in the region particularly the warships that they have based in the eastern Mediterranean And Help defend israel and they did. The pentagon had expected an iranian ballistic Missile Attack in two phases. Luis barraza Ballistic Missiles came solely from iran were told and was about twice as large as the number of Blessing Ms. Salmoran fired in april. Two and u. S. Navy Guided Missile Destroyers find about a dozen interceptors at the incoming iranian Ballistic Missiles. Is not clear how many missiles were hit, the Uss Cole in the u. S. As oakley fired interceptors. Most Guided Missile Destroyers were based in the Eastern Mediterranean help defend against irans anticipated attack. U. S. Navy destroyers deployed to the middle East Region supported the defense of israel by firing approximately a dozen interceptors against the incoming iranian missiles. Initial reports indicate that israel was able to intercept the majority of incoming missiles and that there was minimal damage on the ground. Back in april of the Ussr Lee Park and Uss KearnyGuided Missile Destroyers shut down more than Anyone Attack drones and at least six blessing missiles. Domestic missiles were shot down using the sm3 ballistic Missile Interceptor from the ships which are also in the Eastern Mediterranean at that time. The S P has a range of up to five 1550 miles. U. S. Official tells Fox Iran has been at a state of readiness to launch an attack on israel within 12 high 24 hours since early august following the July 31st and fascination of Hamas LeaderIsmail HaniyehIn Tehran. In recent days the u. S. Has seen additional movement of missiles in iran to prepare for the now what was an imminent attack the official said, iran started moving those Missile Launchers in recent days following the killing of lebanese hezbollah Leaders LeaderHassan Estrela who was killed in beirut on friday. Both the Pentagon And State department denied an iranian statement earlier today suggesting iran give the u. S. Heads up about the attack, neil. Neil jennifer, thank you. And great reporting is always. Always good to have you, i just wanted to get your thoughts on israels likely response, what you think it might be as you heard from iran, they plan, you know, catastrophic attacks if such attacks come their way, back and forth and back and forth over d. C. This going . Neil, you know when under the fence all the time. Have to take some hurt to the iranians. Obviously in april the israeli response to the last phalanx of massage was rather type and images demonstrated what they could do. This time i think they would have to deliver a very clear and strong message to keep this from becoming irregular occurrence. So i do believe that my caterer looking at strategic sights within iran. At the same time, we need to understand that the iranian culture is roger fragile politically. And i are totally and the ayatollah is very nervous after all annual was killed under his thumb, nasrallah was killed here recently by the israelis. So theres a lot in this calculation. I would go after nuclear perhaps facility or iranian oil facility. They have to get a very clear message. Have to suffer a consequence. Otherwise were going to see this continuing. Neil the united states according to President Biden is fully fully fully supportive of israel. Do you concur with that . If they are, they wouldve had deterrence shields up a long time ago. After all this really goes back to august 20212 iran, they were watching next door in afghanistan and how hed pulled out of there. The watch whats going on in ukraine and 90 Watchtower Weve been less than resilient in the western pacific. And reporting they watched as we, you know, kind of took a nosedive after our troops have been targeted 180 plus times in iraq, syria and jordan and most recently in late january of this year, we lost three soldiers and 47 wounded at our 22 in northeast jordan. So this is a repeat offender. Theyre going to continue doing what they can using their proxies and at the same time, they have a very delicate situation at home and thats why think the ayatollah iS Probably in hiding. At the same time hes going to host a sermon this friday In Tehran to send a very clear message much right much like he did in 2020 after we killed soul in my knee so this is a very like otherwise were going to see this on and off again into the future. Neil colonel bob mcginnis, always good to see you. Thank you so much my friend. Were all are learning that israel has not changed itS Posture in Southern Lebanon are great and surgical strikes on hezbollah operations. Have taken out now. Anywhere from seven to a dozen top commanders and operatives including one just earlier today which waS Possible for getting weaponry to hezbollah leaders. Even namebrand drugs. All true face. They are a terrorist state. For years, dave Arms Terrorist in other states, theyre responsible for the death of innocent civilians across the globe. Form Tour Attack in the Middle East, from embassies in latin america, to assault on u. S. Personnel. Irans bloodstained fingerprints are everywhere. Until now, they have hidden behind proxies but the mask has. They have exposed themselves directly, Launching Hundreds of missiles into civilian areas. Their email is no laid bare for all to see. Have called for an Emergency Session of our Security Council to convene as soon aS Possible to discuss this unprecedented attack and to issue a clear and unequivocal condemnation of iran. Let me be very clear, we will defend our people. We will act, iran will soon feel the consequences of their actions. Their response will be painful. Thank you very much, mr. Ambassador. In this letter from the Associated Press the Secretary General has called for a halt to these escalating attacks between Israel And Iran and itS Proxies, and there is widespread concern about this conflict spreading throughout the Middle East. And drying in the united states. Is this a concern of israel and how are you addressing these fears . First of all i will tell you frankly it is im very disappointed from the reaction of the Secretary General. A few hours after such a vicious attack in a statement to put out basically it ignores that the aggressor and speaks about the escalation. But we have a Member State of the United Nations that just came to this building a few days ago and they sensed Ballistic Missiles to another southern state and instead of condemning them, some people called for the escalation. That is disappointing. We have no desire for more escalation but we cannot sit idly by when our civilians are being attacked in such manner and as i said earlier, iran used to send proxies but now when it sent almost 200 Ballistic Missiles, Thats Something that i think any other nation in the world will ignore. Mr. Ambassador just a quick followup, iran haS Put out a statement saying that if israel responds, they will respond even more seriously. Well i think i would not advise iran to challenge our capability, a determination. In the past we approved it and we will prove it again. Can you give us any indication about how israel might respond to this attack . Are irans nuclear facilities on the table in terms of a target . So we will decide about when and how will respond but i can tell you one thing, it will be noticed. It will be painful. And i think that the people of iran were watching us understand that its not against the iranian people, is against the radical regime that dragged the iranian people into the situation. Ambassador, at the very podium that your app now, its a few days ago, the Foreign Minister of jordan stood at the very podium there and he said on behalf of 57 arab and muslim countries, theyre willing to provide Safety Or Help provide safety to israel, Safety And Security to israel, your country should i go ahead . If israel and their occupation and really pursues an independent state for the palestinian people among they are willing to work with you towardS Peace and he said from the podium, asking israeli official what is their longterm plan for peace other than whats going what youre doing in lebanon and whats happening In Gaza . So i ask you, sir, what is israels longterm plan for peace . I appreciate the sincerity of the Minister Of Foreign Affairs and we have a Peace Treaty with jordan earmark but when you look at what happening today in our neighborhood, attacks from lebanon, attacks from human, attacks from iran, every israeli asking since today with my partner and unfortunately today the leadership of the Palestinian Authority are not capable of proving themselves aS Partner for peace. You know, they havent condemned hamas, president hamas spoke in the general assembly for half an hour, he ignored so i think once among the palestinians who is serious and sincere about the intention, we will find israeli sitting there willing to negotiate peace. Unfortunately, it is not the case today. Thank you very much. Neil will continuing to listen to the u. N. Invoice from israel saying that israel will ask and iran will soon fall feel the consequences of their actions and their response will be painful continuing to monitor all of that and happy Jimmy Carter celebrates his 100th birthday, no president has ever lived longer. We are reminded of the Camp David accords which normalize relations between Egypt And Israel at the time. Jimmy carters grandson, jason carter, kind enough to join us today. Jason, very good value and a very happy birthday to your grandfather. Annual and Big Day for the entire family, just remarkable life. And i find the Backdrop Today with the Middle East tensions, something your grandfather knew well, tried to deal with the campaign at its core. Very different times you think of all of this kind of coming together on the same day . Yeah, i mean, like, its remarkable moments. I think, you know, when we reflect on my Grandfathers Legacy yes, it was a century long, at thiS Point but that Camp David accords which really has form the only real hope for peace in that region, the proof that israel can make peace with its neighbors can provide security to israel, you know, he was alwayS Pro Israel And Propalestinian and i think we have to find a way to have leadership that can do that in order to provide the kind of security that region needs and today isnt an example of how far weve come from days of peacemaking. Neil he started that process, jason, and you must be very proud and im thinking about all the other now moderate arab countries, very few have been condemning hezbollah and its actions here, very few have been condemning israel even though there is thiS Push that if a ceasefire facilities theres a greater chance for peace but there are former countries in the Arab World that have normalized or good relations with israel do not the very first moment for israel to have a true peace with one of its neighbors and yes there has been built on in many ways and then theres unfinished business there there is still obviously two generations later still causing a lot of these problems. Neil another to the bigger issue your grandfather is 100 years old and he had hospice almost two years ago and he still remarkably going on, jazz im told by the selection and want to wanting to be part of it. What can you tell us . What keeps him going . You know, it is remarkable moment for all of us, right, One Of Us would be possible. When we we thought it was a matter of days but his life has been grounded in faith from the very beginning and he knows and we all know that we are not in charge. So he has really given himself over to thiS Plan that god has for him and his remarkable thing to watch. But neil i forgot about the brave, yet remind me about that, jason. Stepping back on this and the importance of this day, you know, you were born i think a year before your grandfather was going to run for president in 1976, No One thought he had a chance. So you probably were too young to remember even the last few months of thiS Presidency but of hiS Presidency but you tell me. No i remember a lot of it and, you know, my family, nothing this remarkable about us when we think about him, you know, he is been alive 90 easement only president for four and governor for for four and other 92 of those years he was just a citizen so we all think of him for made, today, when i reflect, i reflect on catching catfish, you know what i mean and troubling and going on hikes and things like that, you that we was for me and i recognize that we charge him with a world in a variety of ways and he had shape the middle East And EtCetera And Today and for us hes my gran died. Neil full exposure here and i was an intern in your Dads Administration and i stressed intern in every scope of The Word, getting coffee for people and often times killing it on people but it was such a charge and adjust for me and how he took the time to remember everyone around him even though the interns even all the interns but i do think we live in such a divisive world today, candidates at Each Others throats, not that he and Ted Kennedy later on against Ronald Reagan didnt go against Each Other but nothing like today. What does he think of this and if if you can share that . Yeah, you know, i mean, look, he came from a different political era. I run for governor of georgia ten years ago and even that was a different political era. Urshela also much more out Each Others throats now. I do think were all ready to turn the page on that at least in my family and i think we can point fingers in all these different directions but one of the great things about my grandfather iS Politicians, small across the political spectrum will tell you i disagree with him on this but he did It Help good man, you know, i do agree with him on these things but not these and we have the ability as americans and asked people to have those kind of conversations but it doesnt have to be able to recall all the time and i think weve got a Mark Model that. Is called over to the rest of the world and, you know, we have the ability i think the lead and if we do it with character as he showed, you can have great impact. Neil indeed. And youre living it, jason. My best your family and your grandfather and what an incredible run and it still goes on. Very good to see you. Have a wonderful time. Thank you, likewise. Neil in the meantime if you want we want to go to governor Joe Shapiro the Pennsylvania Governor kind enough to talk join us. Governor, so much going on i do want to get your thoughts on the development and the melodies and a lot of the pressure on israel not to go Sloan And Mcgill have a dramatic response to this Missile Attack back what you think of that . Look, b truth, iran is the worlds largest exporter of terrorism. One of their lot proxies has been hezbollah whos been Launching Rockets and missiles towards israel, now for the better part of the last year and todays really unprecedented, unprovoked attack by iran is unacceptable. It in and it needs to be responded to. That will be determined by other certainly. What i think we need to be strong against iran and we need to be clear that iran is a terrorist regime. Iran is not our friend, iran is No Ones friends in the peaceful world and we got to make sure that it is addressed. Neil so, you know, weve got the Vice President ial debate tonight, a lot of people were hoping that you would be that much president ial candidate in the debate. Thats neither here or there i understand that. But this message coming today about now you have a Port Strike going on, youve got, you know, this turbulence in the Middle East again, that seems to be a constant. And its just a messy Environment Today where the democratic candidate will be targeted, you are part of the problem how to respond to that . I would say there are serious challenges in the world from overseas and you and i spoke about at the beginning of this interview to the port which you just mentioned, and these are serious times. And i think it calls for seriouS People to conduct serious work every single day. I know you wont find this to be a shock, i dont think Donald Trump is a seriouS Person. I dont think that he had serious ideas to deal with these serious challenges that we face. And so i think hell you probably see tonight in this Vice President ial debate a clear contrast between the vision of Kamala Harris and Donald Trump and i would hope that it would also be a reminder to people of the chaos that Donald Trump brought when he had the keys to the White House four years ago. Anything we want to go back to that. Just the fact that there are challenges in the world doesnt mean that Donald Trump has the solutions. I think many of these challenges are as a result of Donald TrumpS Policies and things he set in motion and we need seriouS People right now progress that. Neil i think the Alert Tour Governor is not your but thank you for clarifying that. [laughter] by the way that the second alert of the day, neil, had no idea you were an intern for Jimmy Carter. So we both provided some breaking news today. Neil indeed we did an actual every year that time. But let me ask you, governor, while i have you, i always try to get a sense of the whole Situation Or Relationship with israel, as you know, is been tense at times with this Administration And Benjamin netanyahu but the Vice President harris was saying under some today i will always ensure israel has the ability to defend itself against iran so obviously, clearly, supporting this effort to do is my go after iran in response of some sort to this Missile Attack but there was some chafing last week as you recall when israel moved into the Southern Lebanon to go after hezbollah, take out the leader without appraising the u. S. Of this that it comes and goes, in other words its very tense. Do you think its very tense . Yeah, im not sure i see it that way. I think its really important to distinguish between standing with israel and certainly, israels right to defend itself against this type of unprecedented aggression coming from iran, a terrorist regime. And may be some differences from the leadership that is in charge of his well. I think that there is a real stark difference there. I think it is one thing to stand up and say, you know, to be bibi netanyahu i disagree with a particular Set Position or approach youve taken an whole other thing to maybe not stand with israel. And so that is why it is clear Vice President harris has been clear she stands with israel and thats also again expressing concerns that she has and administers enhancement some of the conduct of the government is in charge now and i think it is important to distinguish between the two. Neil governor, Donald Trump has said none of this will be happening right now if he were president. Not the unrest going on in the Middle East and not the oquinn war, none of that if he were president. What do you think of that . I understand why Donald Trump says that, you know, this to score political point but theres actually no evidence to back up anything he claims for two reasons. Number 1, when he was in charge, we had chaos at home and abroad. And second, keys offered absolutely no visioning macro policy, no prescription for any of the challenges that were seen across the globe. I mean the standing up and saying it wouldnt be happy if i was in charge is not an answer. And i think quite frankly, statement like that, people are growing tired too primitive heard from the beginning all the big pronouncements he made about Health Care and all the big pronouncements he made on other things, none of them end up coming true because he doesnt have the plans naming the Policy Chops or the ability to get stuff done. And iso and i just think youre seeing more more pontificating, you know, more of him this kind of being a blowhard on these things. Neil finally, i did want to get your take on fracking, a big issue in your state, sir, there has been instances on the part of Kamala Harris, no more friendly and open to that no, and not very much up was not too long ago. And i understand politics and understand, you know, trying to appeal to all types. But do you think that Will Boom boomerang around her in your state . Neil, ill tell you im all i understand the critical role that natural gaS Plays in our economy today. Were proud to be a net Energy Exporter in pennsylvania, were proud of what it does for our economy and were proud of what it does for our national security being able to be energy independent. And proud of the fact that we are producing more energy than ever before in this nation, that something that is a sign of strength not just in pennsylvania but across the country but and i will tell you another sign of strength is that Kamala Harris over the last four or five years has had lessons to the good people of pennsylvania, listen to others across this country and recognize that you need to shift she needs to ship her position on fracking introduce a not for some political expediency but because i think she listened and learned. And listening and learning from people and changing your position as a result of that is a sign of political strength and im pleased that Kamala Harris is going to strengthen our natural Gas Industry in pennsylvania and im pleased of her position that she is taken here in this campaign. Neil governor, thank you very much. Very good having you on. Thank you, neil. Russia would have never attacked ukraine. This would have never happened in the Middle East. There wouldnt have been in october 7th. Neil all right, i asked Governor Shapiro of pennsylvania what he made of that. Was not a fan of what Donald Trump had to stay there, but he could not say things like that, but weve got with us right now a guy who is running for an important seat in that state, to be senator in maryland, the former governor kind enough to join us right now. Get his take on all of this. You know, its interesting, governor, when i see what you are going through in this race, its the bluest of states, but they always say that Governor Hogan is going to have a tough time because this time is different. What do you say to that . Well, look, you know, my opponent is trying to make it just a race about red and blue and trying to tie me to things that are fairly unpopular in my state and im trying to convince the voters im going to be the same strong independent leader that i was for eight years that they voted for twice as their governor. We have to over perform the top of the ticket by more than i think just about any other candidate has ever had to do, but we are feeling pretty good about the campaign at the reception that we are getting. It is an important time. I stepped up because i think we need leaders who are willing to stand up to the former president or the current president or the future president and do what is right for the country. Put country over party. Neil well, that did get you some notoriety here by saying that you were not supportive of Donald Trump, and i guess i wanted to allow you some time to explore and explain that because i thought the hatchet had been buried, but apparently not. Well, no, look, i have been pretty clear on my stance on Donald Trump. You know, i dont think it is any secret to the people of maryland. I have been one of the more outspoken critics in our party for quite some time. But im really not focused on the top of the ticket. Im thinking that weve really got to have some leaders in the senate and in washington that are willing neil well, have you heard from him after you said that, governor . Im sorry, have you heard from him no, havent talked to him. No, my Position Hasnt changed, so it didnt come as any surprise to him, i dont think. Its not really what we are running a campaign on. I think 32 points ahead of Donald Trump in maryland right now. Neil you won two backtoback governorships in that state, a very blue state, by substantial margins. Let me ask you a little bit then about the sPort Strike, the ports of baltimore, everyone is affected by this, your State Livelihood hangs in the balance. What do you think . Well, its a very seriouS Problem, and its why i was actually here at the Port Today and talking with some of the leaders of the ila about the strike and their concerns. My focus is to try to get the parties back to the negotiating table. I think its very important for us to show leadership and try to get them together because this has major impact on our State Economy and on the port of baltimore, which is so critical to the rest of the nation, but also major Supply Chain disruptions. So im hoping we can get this resolved sooner rather than later. Neil governor, thank you very much for that. I apologize for the truncated time, we were juggling a couple of things concurrently. Larry hogan, the former maryland popular to turn governor now running for senate in the bluest of Blue States.
