The letter revealing migrants convicted of Murder And Rape were convicted at the border and then released into the country. I sat down with the District Attorney here in El Paso and he says what they are seeing is the suspected Tda Gang members moving into other states once across the border here. But this new trend he says is a lot of the suspected Gang Members will then cross back into El Paso. Some of the prime examples we are seeing here is the gateway motel. We drove past it. It is literally in the heart of downtown. It was forced to close down because of crime thats been tied to suspected Gang Members living there. Two confirmed Tda Gang members were also part of the riot at the border last spring. It ended with hundreds of arrests, you may remember. A judge ended up dismissing most of the cases all over a technicality. The d. A. Says there is likely much more of these Gang Members involved, but it is really just hard to identify them. This is a nationwide problem, and the entire nation needs to understand that. Certainly Law Enforcement understands that. While the Texas Department of public safety, our state troopers, dps, are leading the charge on getting the Gang Database organized and getting a specific Tda Gang database organized and set up. And Texas Dps has seen its share of Tda Activity here in El Paso in the form of chases and smugglers and stash houses. As you just heard there, they are also starting that database to help them identify the Gang Members. Dps released a map of where Tda Activity has been documented or suspected. Check this out. You can really see it is all over the state. When it comes to tda, this is one more significant reason as to why we are here on the border, because we have to have Border Security. And Texas Governor Greg abbott is now offering a 5,000 reward for anyone who has information leading to the arrest of one of these Tda Gang members. Guys . Just to put it in perspective, Border Patrol typically averages 20,000 to 40,000 apprehensions a year with people who have been convicted of crimes or are wanted for crimes here in america, sent back to countries, and how they are trying to come back in. Border patrol turns as people over to i. C. E. , and what i. C. E. Does with them has always been a question. Now we are seeing with these numbers that i. C. E. Is releasing these people into the public. I will take it a step further i am a 287g jail. Which means, when somebody is arrested in my county in this country illegally, we work with i. C. E. On that. On the previous administration, 8 of 10 of them, i. C. E. Would come pick them up. Now i would be surprised if they pick any of them up. That means we are forced to release these folks back into the communities as criminals. So while these numbers are more staggering than even i thought, this issue is not a nine to me.
