Sean: welcome to hannity we are 50 days away from the inflection point of all inflection points, 2024 election is upon us. Early voting underway in pennsylvania. Poles or neck in. Tonight donald trump is frankly fortunate to be alive again. Another tough weekend and in my home state and in florida for the second time this year, donald trump was nearly assassinated, closer than people know and coming up were going to hear from real estate developer and a friend of mine. Who on sunday morning i had breakfast with him and another friend of ours. And this city diner, if you want to know west palm beach florida, after breakfast i went home and they went to trump international golf club for a meeting in around of golf with the former president. I was invited to play and i said no. And what he told me was beyond shocking. A witness the near assassination firsthand of the former president and presidential candidate. Thankfully at the last minute one secret service agent noticed the barrel of a gun being held by the wouldbe assassin and a treed area, 300 plus yards from the president where he was playing golf, and just moments steve would share that story right here on tv for the first time exclusively. Air can trump a rifle marksman in his own right, furious rightly so that it would good be assassin got so close to his father with a skulk ak47, will get his take on what is going wrong with the agency. If not for one eagle eyed secret service officer and several others who engage the shooter from an open field donald trump likely would not be alive tonight. It seems that the potential assassin here was within moments of firing that shot. It's clear that the agents and trump security detail that were next to him and around him that they all acted heroically. They were willing to sacrifice their own bodies in the face of danger, no greater love have man then to lay down their life or another. That is those guys. And those men and women. This was another glaring security failure at the leadership, secret service, but they don't see it that way. Take a look. Yesterday was an off the record movement. Off the record. And the president was not supposed to go there, not on his official schedule. So we put together security plan and it worked. Sean: the acting secret service director went on to praise and that the dhs did a great job. I baked a different. That security plan did not work, the agents around the president were phenomenal. Two groups of people talking about it here. A range democrat and his name is ryan ruth, got within 300 plus yards of donald trump with an ak47 style rifle equipped with a longrange scope and ruth was able to create a sniper's nest the size of the sixth hole hidden in the bushes where he posted up apparently for 12 hours according to phone records. Take a look at this map. Look at the close look at the proximity of congress street right there on the outside of where the golf course is. And the wooded area and the fifth whole green and right where donald trump was getting ready to pot. Those trees are wellknown areas to the secret service and everybody, that is the area where paparazzi often will high to get pictures of president trump golfing in not be noticed, there were no secret service agents at all that were watching congress avenue. Nobody checked the wooded area, not one person. A would be assassin got that close to president trump with the ak47 and the scope where the former president was well within close shooting range. Thankfully last minute a secret service agent spotted the barrel of ruth's gun and secret service agents fired on his location and ruth unfortunately was able to get away and thankfully and luckily a witness saw him entering his vehicle and snapped a vehicle of his license plate and that is what led to his arrest, take a look. However, as it relates to the planning and the execution of trump security that part of their admission, i can say tonight with certainty was an abject failure. Also today coincidentally senator josh hawley, missouri, released a whistleblower report on the failures of the secret service from the first assassination attempt and that was the one back in july in butler pennsylvania. According to a whistleblower the dhs treated the butler rally as a loose security event and did not deploy detection canines, also did not station personnel at regular interviews intervals of the security perimeter and that is not all. It also alleges that security personnel abandon the roof directly across from the president and that is where matthew ultimately took aim because they tell us the weather was too hot. Too hot? when i was in construction i fell off a roof nearly three stories. I was on roofs that were steep and data slope. And that was never a consideration not working on a hot day. Last week democratic senator said americans will be shocked when we learn the full extent of the secret service failures that happen at butler at the rally there. And yet the secret service came dangerously close to letting it happen again. What happened on sunday was a colossal security failure. You cannot have in pennsylvania and assassin would be be assassin 130 yards from the president or presidential candidate. You cannot have than 300 yards away in a wooded area off of a golf course when the president is playing golf. Ryan wesley roos was a drainage lunatic that call trump with the threat to democracy. Kamala harris and joe biden i don't blame them for the actions just like bernie sanders was not to blame for the congressional baseball shooting carried out by one of his devout supporters. But if the roles were reversed here you better believe that democrats and the media mauled, all those in big tech would be blaming donald trump any conservative it and every republican. And one can ask why more secret service personnel are not being assigned to protect the number 1 political target and the contrary. In fact, very sick people on the left have taken aunt and the other direction and they're trying to blame donald trump for almost getting assassinated. You cannot make it up. Take a look. It seems to be the confluence of two very bad things going on in the republican party. On one side the attempts to divide it to enrage the population and to put out false rumours and misinformation and on the other side we have this complete availability of assault rifles. It seems almost anyone who wants to have access. Sean: when you say over and over again somebody's evil or compare them to hitler a democracy is that rhetoric not over the top? washington post simply referred to the assassination attempt as another chance for trump to frame democrats as dangerous. That is their biggest concern. Meanwhile nbc news refer to it as a golf club incident. A golf club incident would be somebody hit with a golf ball. Usa today barely featured the story at all and instead they published a cover story with the title hope in america. Where are the watergate style stories about the failures and the department of homeland security and at the secret service? where are the tough question for who's been warning that the threat level has never been this bad. Where is the attorney general, where the calls for somebody to be held accountable and resign. Make no mistake, donald trump is not just facing off against kamala harris. I've said this many times in this election cycle. He's running against an entire political machine that spans across the federal government and their agencies as we call a deep state and then we have a democratic party that lies on the level that i've never seen in my life and this state run propaganda, media mob, big tech, all wanting to put this cinderblock on the scales of an election and now we can add numerous wouldbe assassins? at this hour in our country we are monitoring a live interview with donald trump, going on spaces but hear is how trump describes sunday's attempt on his life. He'll be on the show tomorrow describing it as well. All of a sudden we heard shots being fired in the air. Four or five. And it sounded like bullets but what do i know about that, secret service knew immediately it was bullets. And they grabbed me and the gunfire was actions actually interestingly a secret service agent. Had seen a barrel of an ak47, a very powerful gun rifle. And started shooting at the barrel. When i met you for breakfast yesterday i did not think that you would be on this tv show today and i did not think that you would go through everything that you went through yesterday, i'm glad you are okay and i'm glad the president is okay. Why don't you tell the audience everything that happened. First of all, thank you for having me. Yesterday was quite a day. I actually feel blessed that i was there yesterday. And the reason i feel blessed is that i got to see what it's like for my dear friend to live his normal life. His normal life which is punctuated by two attempts to assassinate him in the last 60 days, being vilified since he left the presidency. Falsely accused, harassed. To me he gave four years of his best hearers and he ought to be commended for the job that he did. Here he was yesterday on a beautiful day just trying to get some rest and relaxation like all the rest of us. And there's a man with a machine gun, assault rifle who's attempting to kill him. It was terrible. But i got to see a man who was still way, courageous, cared about his friends safety before his own life. He was an inspiration to everybody around him yesterday. I wish the whole country could've witnessed what happened yesterday. They would've seen a real leader. Sean: you are walking up to the green and you're looking to putt. All of a sudden you hear the gunshots, what did it sound like we did you know immediately they were gunshots and the direction they came from? immediately. I'm a gun carrier. And i've been for 35 years. You knew immediately that it was gunfire. It did not sound like firecrackers. The secret service were exceptional. They were they had the president secured. In my estimation because i was y estimation may be after the first shot. Certainly after the second. By the time the fourth shot rang out the president was on his way with that detail. It was as if they had practice at 500 times before. It was pretty awesome to watch them. And they were heroic because their lives were on the line. They were exposed at that moment. The sniper teams deployed right next to me, a your two away with their tripods. Aiming at the tree line. We saw the secret service and other detail members converging with golf carts on that area where the shots had come from. And the president was safe thank god. Let me ask you this. The secret service around you and i agree based on everything you told me were phenomenal. Within seconds they were on the president, they got them off the golf course immediately. You told me that you stood up the whole time and never sat down. And then you talked about other secret service, they had their tripods, their snipers but they were in an open field on a golf course and sitting ducks themselves and put their lives at risk. So everybody around the president at that moment, i don't have enough adjectives to describe the level of heroism, that's what you're describing to us. Correct. Each and every one of them. Each and every one of them put themselves in harm's way to put themselves between the shooter and the president. I was standing up as i said, to this day to this minute i don't know why i continue to stand. I think it may have something to do with by osmosis being around my friend. He's so courageous that you feel inspires that you want to demonstrate a little bit of that yourself, if you can. They put themselves between that shooter and the president. And there's no mistaking that. I watched all happened. Sean: let me ask you this question. I get into this more. I had a conversation with eric trump and he's coming on after you. The only problem i had, the area is close to a street called congress avenue. Between congress avenue it's the part of the golf course that is closest to that street in between the street and the golf course is a treed area and a fence. This is where the would be assassin was hiding. What frustrates me is 300 plus yards or so from where you were from where the president was. That area was never checked. I'm having a hard time understanding why from a security standpoint that nobody check that area on that street and checked that wooded area one the president is within that tight range and in this case with somebody that ends up happening in ak47 with a scope on it. That is the failure part to me and i'm not negating all of the hair was in that you witnessed yesterday. You know, i was not out on the periphery. But as i understand it there was an agent who was on the outside fence line between congress avenue and the fence or tree line. And he had check that area and just missed the shooter. The assassin. Then as it was supposed to happen there is an advanced man, every time i play with the president. I play with them quite a bit. There's an advanced person who is going in front of us. Scanning the area of t next holder any vulnerable areas and it worked as it should. He actually looks towards that tree line. You have to look closely. There's a gun barrel, it's not so easy to see inside of those trees. Sean: that part was amazing. If that guy did not see that gun barrel we talking about a funeral in all likelihood today. That's how close president trump again came to be assassinated. My question is little bit different. I would think that the proper procedure would be make sure to clear that wooded area and make sure it's checked in at that point make sure that you have enough agents to keep their eyes and make sure nobody goes into that wooded area, does that make sense? of course it does. Look that goes to manpower and you have people that are interviewed in the last day including the palm beach sheriff that says that the president did not get the full complement of a detail as if a sitting president would've been out there. I can't tell you that the full complement wouldn't made a difference yesterday. I only know this. I have a little love thing for my dear friend and i say to myself thank god that he was not injured or killed. And thank god meant of the other people, plenty of civilians by the way, staff from his office, people care about him just as much as i do, two other friends of his. There could have been a lot of really serious damage out there and there wasn't. I'm grateful to that agent that interjected and that entire team. Sean: i am grateful for all the heroism you are describing. I do not want to minimize that in any way. I do think that something did go wrong on the outside of that perimeter by that wooded area and by that fence. And they have to look into that. I want to be clear as i was with steve. I cannot praise the agents around your dad enough for their heroism. They dove on him and did everything right, they got him out of there quickly. The one agent that just happen to see the barrel of this gun amazing work on that agents part in every way, probably it sounds to me that your dad was within seconds it yet again of being assassinated. My question for you is how is it possible that this treed area where dad was playing at this time by the fourth, six pull over there. Is wellknown for where paparazzi get pictures and videos of your dad playing golf. They hide in the bushes get the pictures. And what i don't understand is why that area was not swept and why there were not agents preventing anybody from getting into that area after it was swept. That to me was a massive security failure, your reaction? my reactions that it feels like déjà vu, five weeks ago we were having this exact same conversation. Let me be clear they are trying to kill the man in the trying to kill my father and the 45th president of the united states. Was seen two temps the last five weeks. I agree with steve, 100 percent get the secret service men and women and the people on stage in butler and many of the people on the ground, two days ago. I know these people that the greatest people you'll ever meet and i'll take a bullet for my father and a bullet for any side. That's their job and they love their job and they're very good at their job. If i can get that agent that's all the rifle barrel popping through a chainlink fence in the middle the bushes, if i can give them a big hug i would do so right now because there's no question that that person saved lives. At the same time i agree with you, what is happening with the perimeter, how can that possibly happen? you're showing a picture on tv, ak47 with the scope. And a former president and likely future president based on the poll numbers and everything else, less than 300 yards away. One bullet, this country, the history of this country changes forever, one bullet. The way that the us is perceived changes in a flash. How many other close calls do we have to have and when can we finally get our act together and say that those agents on the ground are remarkable. And thank god that they were there and the way that they respond. But there is a breakdown, at some point there has to be. It's two assault rifles within 300 yards of the president first one being 130 yards in a fiveweek period of time. It's only so many chances in the world and so many lives that you're given. So i'm so grateful in so many ways, some of my closest friends at the same time on the perimeter, somebody's letting those prayed agents down because this cannot happen, i just for members one other thing, the reports came out that it looks like a person based on their cell phone records started showing up in that location at 1:00 in the morning. 1:00, that person had been there close to 12 hours at that point. It's incredibly disconcerting and concerning for the country and hundreds of millions of americans that would march the end of the world for a man that they loved, amend that they adored and a man leading the race for 47th president of the united states. And it's definitely deep concern for his family and for guys like me that love him deeply. Sean: i agree with you and with steve, the agents around your dad, no better people in the face of the earth, i completely agree. However, that area that is wooded, i listened to the head of the secret service very closely today and praising not only those agents that praising the whole operation as if it was a great success, i don't view it as a success if somebody with an ak47 and a scope is 300 plus yards away from your dad. That is a layup. So the question is why was that wooded area not swept, we need an answer why weren't there agents on congress avenue that were monitoring to make sure that nobody went into the treed area where and bringing a gun no less in there with them. That is where the failure went and where it happened and this is very similar to what we have learned out of butler, is it not? i agree with you, i don't think it's a success having an assault rifle 300 yards away from a president. I've shot since i could walk, something i knew very well, something i know better than most. I did it competitively, all the disciplines. 300yard shot is a layup shot with the scope rifle. The shot that my six year old son can make every single time, these are layup shots. It didn't concerning that it happened. It was a success for them and they should be hugged and complement it. They try to take him off the ballot and subvert democracy in this country. They've done everything that they could to try to impeach him into took down his friends, that man right there is still fighting and i expect them to be protected, i expect them to be safe, this country expect to have democracy and i have to hear kamala harris at a debate saying that that man right there who's the most brave person i've ever met is a threat to democracy. The bullets are only going one way. It's interesting how that works. That man right there is taking every bullet literally and figuratively and he's taking every bullet from a weapon iced system and every bullet from a gun and guess what the media sweeps it under the rug. I heard an interesting statement on social media that the will smith slapped got more attention that butler pennsylvanian i think that's close to being true because mainstream media swept it under the rug as quickly as they could and moved on to their neck shiny ball to try and promote joe biden at at the time or kemal harris which they do every single time. Why is this person literally the punching bag for everything and then you. Kamala coming out and sang donald trump as a threat to democracy. The only threat to democracy are the people trying to kill that incredible man right there. Somebody loved by the entire country. They have to tone down that roderick. Joe biden were gonna put a bull'seye on donald trump, that has to and. Maxine waters have to end. Mainstream media that go after them every single day has to end. They are creating a culture of hate in this country and do you know what, if we ever lost one of our leaders a presidential nominee, a former president we looked like a third world country. It cannot happen in the united states of america, they have to get the resources to keep our political leaders safe. We have to do a better job, we cannot have a third incident they will not be a third incident. We cannot have this conversation again. We've had too many of them. Sean: i agree. So many good people in law enforcement including the sheriff's department and the palm beach police department, they didn't amazing job. In the hours after the news broke, predictably the leftwing state run media mob and the woke left wasted no time at blaming a donald trump for the attempt on his own life. They apparently have absently zero shane, cincinnati enquirer publishes a letter to the inquirer that says trump brings this stuff onto himself. Washington post writing that the attempt at shooting gives trump another chance to strain democrats as dangerous. Far left podcast or, mocked the incident in a deleted post writing, no years were harm, carry on with your sunday afternoon. She is deleted the post. Calling it flippant. You think? over on the news network, things were not better. Take a look. Do you expect to hear anything from the trump campaign about toning down the rhetoric? toning down the violence or that the typical of the former president? leading up to this the former president had been subject to some critical coverage in the news media for stoking some conspiracy theories about the first assassination attempt. And now that the second one came along it's gonna be hard to persuade him otherwise that there is not some deeper darker force at work. I'm not saying that there is but it's just his belief system. And it's only strengthened by the situation. If donald trump wants people and kamala harris and others to say and stop saying that he is a threat to democracy he'd to stop threatening democracy and that he should not be overturning the elections or overthrow the government and inciting insurrections if he doesn't want people to be honest about what he is and who he is and what he's doing doing. Sean: here with reaction south carolina senator lindsey graham and tim scott. We'll start with you. Let's start with the security failures and the media reaction. Kind of sick, isn't it? number 1 the media reaction is sick. If the shoe were on the other foot and change the labels and tim and i said anything like that or you said anything like that. It would be driven out of politics, probably rightfully so. One very prominent nbc reporter analyst said will this change trumps rhetoric. The man almost got shot again and the analysis of the media is will trump change? here is my response. Will the system change. Will the people who accused him of being a threat to democracy shut the hell up so people are not inspired to kill him. We've had a lot of happy talk, all the agents around the president that that whole team are great. The wonderful americans, this was system failure in every possible level. How about this idea, what if you not put the barrel through the fence resident trump gone fun of him. That was sheer luck. What if he waited for president trump to finish the whole behind him and gone in front of him before he stuffed the barrel through the fence. The guy was there for 12 hours with an ak47 with the scope on it. I lost golf balls in that area, how could this happen twice. You have crazy folks who say avenue been empowered to eliminate the threat to democracy. How does that work? it works only see the liberal elite trying to take out a political opponent. Here's a party whose nominee did not get a single vote in a democratic primary, there was no democrat primary, the coordination ceremony become the nominee did not take a process, that is the end of democracy. When you're talking about the hypocrisy on the left, it's undeniable and hard to miss that they literally wiped clean the slate of how elections are run in the united states of america. But the rhetoric, not just over the top, it is potentially deadly. We need to see it toned down starting on the left, i've heard it from our side, everyone of us wants to focus on the issues but every single time we see in another attempt against president trump, you have to ask yourselves. Is there a plot two assassination attempts in six weeks. If i were him,'s family or those who support them, you have to start thinking what's going wrong in this process. We need answers. When harris got into the race that reversed and some of these states like in wisconsin he was down double digits among seniors in this poll. Sean: what is your take and you're message in the final days as early voting now starts? first thing i would say is that this election is extremely close and nobody needs to ask like this is going to be easy.
