After gunshots were reported while he was golfing at his club in West Palm Beach at the Trump International Golf Course. Not maralago. The former president is fine. His campaign says those shots were fired in the vicinity of the Golf Course. We are now waiting for an update from the secret Service And Police about all of this. Hello and welcome to Fox News live. Im Eric Shawn and im arthel neville. So the Trump Campaign did not specify where those shots may have been fired. And this of course, is coming two months after the former president was shot at a rally in butler, pennsylvania. And we do have Sean Hannity. Sean is going to join us live right now from your home studio, sean. Unfortunately, were talking about this very subject today, unfortunately. But what do you know . Have you spoken to the former president . I have spoken to the president , and i spoke to his Golf Partner, Steve Witkoff, a well known developer, businessman in miami and the Palm Beach area. So i got a lot of details. Im very aware of the new York Post report that said that it was, well outside of the whats called Trump International in West Palm Beach, which is where actually where i am. And anyway, so long story short, is President Trump. They were on the fifth hole. They were about to go up to putt. And the way Steve Witkoff now, just as a little bit of background arthe, i happened to go to breakfast with Steve Witkoff and another friend of mine this morning, and i was invited to play golf. They happen to be really good golfers. Im not a i dont have a lot of time to play golf, so i didnt. I said thank you, but im not going to go out on the Golf Course and get get killed out there. But long story short. So they were playing. They were on the fifth hole. And the way steve described this, the way the president described it, they both had exactly the same story, which was that they heard pop, pop, pop, pop. And steve went into great specificity and great detail as to what happened right after. Within seconds, the Secret Service pounced on the president , covered him. You had snipers with tripods. They knew the direction. Where where the shots had been fired and they had eyes on the location where the shots had been fired. And long story short, they were i have i have confirmed, with both the president and with mr. Witkoff that the gun has been found. They identified it as an Ak 47. And thanks to Secret Service drone video coverage, they were able to identify the one individual involved in this shooting getting into a car after dropping the Ak 47 and my understanding, according to both of them, is that that car has been identified and i believe its been surrounded. Whether or not that that person has been apprehended or not, i dont know. This happened in a matter of seconds. A little more color, a little bit more details on this is that when they got on top of the president immediately what is called a fast cart, that i believe has Steel Reinforcement and, and, and protection was able to whisk the president away. And then the Secret Service immediately sprung into action. They had eyes on where the shooting had occurred. I saw the new York Post report that these were two people shooting at Each Other outside the course. I do know, and they did confirm that the shots were outside of the course, but certainly seemingly within range of the former president. So we dont have any details on any of that. They dont know that part. I only know the part of what they experienced while they were playing golf at Trump International in West Palm. Thankfully, the president is safe. Steve witkoff is safe. The Secret Service apparently acted with incredible Speed And Professionalism and but but certainly alarming in every way imaginable. In light of what happened in butler, as you mentioned. Yeah, of course this is very alarming. And sean, have you spoken to the former president or texted with him . I have spoken with the president three times since this incident. And each time i got a new piece of information, one that they had found. First of all, what happened with the shooting, the second thing that they had found an Ak 47. Third, that their Drone Footage was able to give them enough surveillance to identify the exact car that the individual involved in the shooting got into. And further detail that they gave me was that that they were updated and told that that car had been found, identified, was surrounded by Law Enforcement. I dont know what happened from there. It could not have been too far away. I would say the time frame was less than a half hour between the time that the shooting actually took place, and they identified the car. So im trying to find out, like, how is he doing . Thats what we want to know. How is he doing . If you spoke to him . Well, you you really want to know The Truth . Arthel he goes, i really well, theres more details because i did hear and Steve Witkoff was very clear, the first thing the president did when he got back to the clubhouse was make sure that Everybody Else was okay. He didnt see his Golf Partner with him. Wheres steve, wheres steve, wheres steve . And then steve says, im right here. He got in maybe a few minutes behind the president. The Secret Service was able to get everybody to safety. Everybody else was taken off the Golf Course. Then when the president found out, everybody was safe and nobody had been harmed, i guess in typical fight, fight, fight fashion, trump said to steve. And then he related to me, oh, i really wanted to finish the whole i was even and i had a i had a Birdie Putt and it was on the fifth. It was on the fifth hole, which shows a lot of, i think, guts and gumption and very trumpian, i guess, in every way. But, you know, the good news we can report is that that in spite of this being in such close proximity to the president and others and the Secret Service, that they were not harmed and that they are in safety, and i know the investigation will go forward, probably more details, i would imagine, as time unfolds. Sean, for those who dont know that area, the Trump International Golf Course, West Palm Beach, across the causeway from maralago, i mean, its in a residential neighborhood. Youve got, you know, Burger Kings and convenience stores all around. Any word do we know from police was this Gang Related or Gang Related shooting . Two gunmen shooting at Each Others. And youve got to hand it to the Secret Service to have a Drone Up and to be able to identify this, you know, so quickly. Right there was only one credible News Report that i saw, and it was part of news corp, which runs the Fox News channel, came from the new York Post that they believed the shooting was between two people outside of the Golf Course. But theres not a lot of details to that as of this moment. Now, i would assume were going to get more information from the Secret Service. I know that there were at least 30 to 50 sheriff and West Palm Beach police there. They responded immediately. I happen to be driving in and around the area. I drove past maralago to see what was going on. There was a heavy, heavy Police Presence ever since the shooting in butler. That had been a very common scene, but not like this. It was it was more active than usual. And but you know, the fact that everybodys okay. And four shots were fired. It is, its just its honestly its disheartening on one level. Its sad on another level. And its scary on a level that, you know, somebody with an Ak 47 could be that close to the president or former president and top president ial candidate and, you know, just 50 days before an election. Yeah, sean, youre right. Its very disturbing. Everybodys nerves are on edge. And as you just told us, that the president and former president , his true fashion that he has, you know, kind of sucked it up and just said, look, im okay. My people are okay. And i wish i had finished my golf round there, but it is a very tense time and we dont know exactly right now if in fact, this was something that was directed at the president or this was something happening, you know, separate from him, but it definitely was too close for comfort, given what happened on July 13th in butler, pennsylvania. Yeah i think arthel youre raising a really good question. And well find out. And i never loved to i never liked to rush to judgment. And it has served me very well in my career. And i think thats why we got ferguson, missouri, right. And Duke Lacrosse and Uva And Freddie gray and baltimore and early in my career, when the Atlanta Journal Constitution said that Richard Jewell fit the profile of the lone bomber because he lived with his mother, i was on the air at the time. I didnt know that Richard Jewell was even listening to my show. I found out later and i said, just because he lives with his mother does not fit the profile of somebody, that would be involved in a bombing. So when situations like this do unfold, i think the important thing to do is wait for the details to come in. The good news that we can tell you, i can add one little piece to the equation is that the president got home very late last night. He had a rally, i believe it was in salt lake. He flew in, maybe got to Palm Beach around two, 230 in the morning. And when i went to breakfast, that was planned with Steve Witkoff and another friend of ours. And when i went to breakfast with them this morning, we went to our favorite diner, and, its called City Diner by the way, we went there and the president had written him when he gottome had a now, we know everybodys okay, but weve got to understand what the perimeter is, in my view, arthel, which is what you were saying, you know, in other words, i would say we define a perimeter for any elected official. Republican, democrat, liberal, conservative. I dont care that its got to be within any distance of any long high powered rifle. Thats got to be considered the perimeter going forward. We saw the democratic senator this week telling america theyre going to be shocked and appalled at what we learn about the Butler Shooting. And well have an interim report coming out maybe this week or next week. And thats those words are chillin. Thats thats Senator Blumenthal that made those comments. So long story short, i think theres a lot more that we have to find out. Id like to hear from the Secret Service. Id like to hear from Law Enforcement. I feel like a lot of information in the Butler Shooting was very slow in coming forward. If this was an outside event, as the new York Post is reporting, fine. Lets get the details of that as well. The american people have a right to know, and we have to certainly reexamine what the perimeter is for any president , any president ial candidate, any high Ranking Official, in terms of the distance and the power of, of a rifle and what it could do. But to hear Steve Witkoff describe, he heard pop pop, pop, pop and the secret Service Diving on the president. And hes watching all of this unfold in real time is a pretty chilling scenario. It must have been really frightening and harrowing. Thankfully, sean, the president , the former president is okay. And it kind of reminds me, remember when President Ronald Reagan was shot, his humor, he said when he was in the emergency room, he said, honey, i forgot to duck for the former president to say i couldnt finish my fifth hole. Certainly, authorities will find out what happened here. And if this indeed is a story that directly to me, eric, he said, he said, well, and then Steve Witkoff confirmed it once he knew everybody was safe, his first priority, he was in a bit of a panic about wheres steve, wheres steve, wheres steve . He didnt know what had happened because he had got whisked away in a Golf Cart that moves like 100 miles, A Hundred miles an hour. Then you then steve is watching these guys on tripods, identifying the location where the shots were fired. And so hes watching that unfold, probably seeing his Life Flash behind i, you know, before his eyes, then gets back and hes wondering, okay, where are my friends . Where are the Secret Service agents . The president did go out of his way to praise every one of these agents. Steve did say that he went up to all of them individually, thanked them, shook their hand, told them how much he appreciated them, and then he went to the oh, i was even. It was the fifth hole. I had a Birdie Putt. I really wanted to finish the hole so well. Classic trump, if you ask me. Well, were happy that as of now this is a good note to end on. Were told that the Palm Beach county Sheriffs Office will be holding a Press Conference shortly. Right now i have a few statements to read first from the Trump Campaign. Who writes President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time. We also have a statement from the Secret Service, which i believe you have. Ill read it. The Secret Service, in conjunction with the Palm Beach county Sheriffs Office, is investigating a protective incident involving former President Donald Trump that occurred shortly before 2 p. M. The former president s safe Palm Beach county Sheriffs Office will have more details soon, referring to that Press Conference thats coming up now. As arthel mentioned, off the top, this incident comes almost exactly two months to the day when President Trump was shot in butler, pennsylvania. It is not clear right now where those gunshots came from. Were told they happened outside of Trump International, former President Trumps Golf Club where he was playing, as we just heard from sean, he was on the front line when this incident happened. The president was immediately rushed off the course and back to maralago. So were awaiting this Press Conference. But again, its not clear who fired those shots. We should hear more shortly. And Ak 47, i mean, one would think i dont want to speculate too far ahead. Youve got Gang Related crimes, this sort of thing. It is a residential neighborhood, also a commercial strip. So maybe there could be something like that involved. And the former President Of The United States happens to be playing golf nearby. You know, it certainly is pretty alarming. Thats right, eric, and its important to note that this trip to maralago and to his Golf Club was not on any kind of public schedule. So it wouldnt have been clear where the president was. So nobody knew where he was outside of his Inner Circle in the campaign. Of course, its also notable that this Golf Club is very close to the West Palm Beach airport as well. Eric all right. Lucas, thank you so much for the very latest from the White House on this situation. Well get back to you as soon as the Secret Service has a comment and a statement about that. Art thou all right, lucas and eric, right now were going to bring in former nypd Commanding Officer and Fox News Contributor Paul Mauro. So, you know, paul, the details are very sketchy at this point, but there are a couple of key details that we do have, and id like to reiterate those. What lucas just reported that this shooting took place near the West Palm Beach airport, an Ak 47 gun has been found. Sean hannity told us that one individual, according to sean, was getting out of the car. He and the car has been identified. So and the other thing that lucas just pointed out that the former president s Golf Game was not on a public schedule, given those few minor details that we do have. What are you thinking at this point . So, as you say, you know, we only have some fun facts. And one of the things weve all learned over as cops, you know, throughout your career, but also in the news media, is that of the first ten reports, nine will likely be inaccurate. But going on those facts, it does argue that the former president was not the target and that this may be some sort of a dispute. It could be something as prosaic and routine as a, an argument between two drivers. This could be a Road Rage thing, because we do know that cars were involved. It may be one Car Shooting at another, or maybe something with a deeper motive, i think to advance the story a little bit with what we know now, we can look a little bit at the Law Enforcement response. It looks like the enhanced protection around Donald Trump reacted, as you would hope they would. And local Law Enforcement seems to have gotten on to this very, very quickly. And just for the purposes of some insight, the local cops will have the Trump Related Locations flagged as Quote Unquote sensitive locations. These are places that the former president is known to either live or have an interest, like the Golf Club. And so there should be and it appears there were protocols in place for them to respond, because as you can imagine, if this were more serious or had gone worse, you have all these cops, cops who are trained to run towards the danger, right . You have all these cops, theyre armed, theyre excited, theyre running to this situation. And yet you have the Secret Service who is looking to protect the president. Those things could get messy. And thats why these protocols are important. Yeah, very much very important. And of course, were waiting to hear from the Palm Beach county Sheriffs Office, also, the West Palm Beach Sheriffs Office. So pardon me, in a situation like this, of course, all hands on deck. Anytime you have any incident, even though were not sure if this was directly directed at the former president , but definitely in the vicinity. And again, we were just talking with Sean Hannity saying just that nerves are on edge given what happened on July 13th in butler, pennsylvania. Again, we cannot directly connect those dots at this time. But, you know, lots of questions that are are need to be answered. And we are going to keep you posted. Of course, right here. But, you know, again, were waiting for these for everything to come out. We certainly dont want to jump to any conclusions like you said, paul, but you know, its concerning and you know, we heard sean tell us that the former president , he made sure that his people, Steve Witkoff, who he was playing golf with, in fact, sean was supposed to join them where he was invited to, to join them on that Golf Game. But he he said no, but he did speak to everyone directly. And, you know, they said that according to what sean said, the president s first Reformed President s first reaction was to make sure everybody was okay. Where steve . Where . Steve. Meaning . Steve. Witkoff. Okay. Steves here. Im here. You know, im okay. And then he thanked the Secret Service, team. He thanked everybody who was there to help him and to make sure that he was safe. And then he said, man, you know, i mean, im paraphrasing, but hes like, man, i wanted to finish my Golf Game. I was actually doing well, you know, so its good that in a situation like this, you know, that is a little bit of an indication that the former president is, you know, his his mood, his demeanor regarding this. So, you know, id imagine if he felt like he was really in any imminent danger, he would maybe not find the room for any levity. Yeah. Unfortunately, at this point, hes a veteran of this situation, right . Hes been through it before. And so, you know, some of that Muscle Memory may very well have kicked in. But as you say, it does argue this thing is not targeted, was not targeted at him. My other initial response was just an Ak 47 in West Palm Beach, you know, this is not the kind of storyline that you would expect in an area like that. And then given the cars that it argues a bit arthel. And again, were jumping to a conclusion here off of thin facts. But the idea that the cars were involved, its a not a high crime area, it almost argues that this is an anomaly. Maybe they were transiting through again, maybe a Road Rage thing, maybe a deeper bee. But it does look like its likely likely going to be tangential to the president as you say this, his Golf Game was not on any public schedule. And so, you know, were this to be a targeted event, all these facts really argue against that. But that does not make it any less unnerving or significant. And it just does show you that you know, we have got a lot of random crime in this country, in every state. Shots fired in the vicinity of former President Trump while he was playing golf at his Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, florida, not maralago. Thankfully, the former president is okay, Secret Service were told immediately pounced on him and evacuated the former president from the Golf Course. And certainly in light of the Assassination Attempt in butle, pennsylvania, security heightened. Were now waiting for a West Palm Beach Police News Conference about all of this. We dont know if the shots that were fired in his vicinity were random. Road rage, Gang Related, or what prompted the shots to be fired in the first place. On a Sunday Afternoon, about 2 00, or if it is or is not connected to the president at this moment, we will likely learn some more of those details as soon as that News Conference gets underway. Former nypd Commanding Officer, Fox News Contributor Paul Mauro joins us. Paul, Sean Hannity was on hes in Palm Beach in that area. And he was on with us saying that the car has been found. The weapon has been recovered. So you have to think at this moment, if they have a suspect in custody or do not, at least they know where this investigation potentially is going. Yeah. So almost certainly its all hands on deck, as arthel said. And theyre going to be putting a lot of resources into the background of this. And they have some Data Points as you say, youve got the car, youve got the gun, youve got some ballistics, four shots, im sure. Right now The Street there is cordoned off. Theyre making sure theyve got all the shells. There may be a second car involved, theyre obviously going to be running that plate. See if the car comes back to somebody, see if the car was reported stolen, and, you know theyre going to be going very deep obviously here because you need to know who this was. So theyre going to be looking even at things like License Plate readers, video, etc, to try to figure out where this car came from and try to put a name to this entire thing. And then the key here is to get out fast so that people dont disappear. And you can again contextualize this as whether it was something that was directed at Donald Trump or if it was an unrelated beef that just broke out as it happens, very near where the former president was playing golf. And isnt it important for like, authorities to try to come out with something . I mean, quickly, when youve got a Nation President Ial Campaign and a nation on edge . From what we saw in butler, pennsylvania. Oh, certainly. Absolutely. You know, many of us who went on the air in response to butler initially right away began to talk about the importance of transparency. Sean hannity obviously hit it, you know, in that vacuum is where the Conspiracy Theories grow. And so i think thats why theyre putting up wisely, putting together a Press Conference right away. Theyre learning from some. And im talking about the Secret Service now. Theyre learning from some of the mistakes. I think of two months ago. Theyre going to get out there and tell us what they know. Even if you dont know much telling that to the public at least makes people feel like, okay, the adults are in charge. Theyre doing what they need to do. Somebody is looking at this. Its when you have that vast silence that the Conspiracy Theories grow and people feel like whats going on. So even just that Face To Face To let us know, look, this is early in this thing. We have some things to work with. The president does not appear to have been the target, but we dont know that were going on the assumption that maybe he could have been. But the important thing is that he is safe. The protocols we had in place between the service and the locals worked. We got a car, we got the guns and we are moving forward with all hands on deck, that kind of stuff. Again, just tamps down peoples concerns, fears, etc. But also lets people know, okay, they are looking into this and its not some sort of crazy conspiracy that only grows in social media. And you just said something really important that the Coordination Work between the local and the Secret Service. Thats not what we apparently saw in butler when the local squad shooting, you know, Sniper Team is inside the building and crooks is up on the roof. And they were they saw him and identified the gunman or alleged gunman, suspicious person and they werent able to get the communications together to try and stop him. And prevent the previous shooting. Absolutely and, you know, thats one of the first things you go to in a situation like this, especially when you have multiple agencies, the real potential disconnect, obviously, is the comms, the communications. And look, to be fair, thats not always easy, especially if you have a lot of different agencies involved and maybe you dont have a lot of resources and the stuff has to happen fast, but you got to work that out and there are workarounds that you can put in place that would not put on put in place in butler very clearly. And the idea that crooks was spotted earlier and then he was spotted maybe as, as long as 30s to a minute before he started shooting. And yet the, you know, the shooting went forward really argues that it was a breakdown and hopefully were going to get some clarity on that. But here it does look like and again, as i mentioned earlier, you get something like this. This comes over the radio. You know, its hard to appreciate it if youve never sat in a patrol car, for instance. But this comes over the radio as shots fired near President Trumps Golf Course. You can imagine the impact that has on a sleepy Sunday Afternoon in West Palm Beach for the Sheriffs Office and the local cops, that comes over as a five alarm fire. Now, you got to go running towards that and you know, you got to rely on the protocols that are in place so that you have people on the ground there to say, okay, what is the service saying . What are the people that work for trump saying, what are the people at the Golf Course saying, you have to have those lines of communication open so that everybodys not running around bumping into Each Other and because its undoubtedly designated as a special location, a sensitive location, whatever term they use in florida, i assume they relied on those protocols. And thats why this thing seems to have been buttoned up pretty quickly, under a half hour, to have the car already is good work. They probably had helicopters up. I bet you they got aviation Up In The Air right away. And thats probably one of the things that assisted. Yeah. Sean said that there was a drone. We know now that they do use drones. There was a drone involved in this. Right. Thankfully the president okay. We are awaiting a News Conference for the facts about exactly what happened from West Palm Beach and from authoritie. Hannity that an Ak 47 was involved and a suspect fled, and that when these shots rang out, the former President Donald Trump, was taken protectively off the Golf Club and returned to his Mar A Lago estate. There are some statements have been released from the Trump Campaign which said that the president is safe and, excuse me, President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time. The Secret Service also have this statement saying the Secret Service, in conjunction with the Palm Beach county Sheriffs Office, is investigating a protective incident involving former President Donald Trump that occurred shortly before 2 p. Eastern time, four shots allegedly shot near heard near the Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, florida, where the former president was actually playing golf. He was on his fifth round, his fifth hole, and we are not sure if this was an incident that was directly aimed at the president. But we are waiting for a Press Conference by the Palm Beach City County Sheriffs Office right now. I want to bring in former nypd Commanding Officer and Fox News Contributor Paul Mauro. And then for anyone just joining us, paul, let me set a little bit more of the scene in terms of the details that we do have all be it sketchy, we again, i pointed out that the Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach is near the Palm Beach international airport. Why do we say that . Were pointing out that this area, were not sure it is. It could be a heavily trafficked area. We heard four shots fired. This is according to sean, who spoke directly with Steve Witkoff, who was actually playing golf with the former president at the Trump International Golf Course shortly before 2 p. M. When this happened, and we are told that the car has been identified, which means they have, you know, a vin number, theyve got a License Plate number, they perhaps have insurance papers in that car and that apparently that one individual, according to Sean Hannity, that an individual was either seen getting in the car. But those details are sketchy. And again, before i toss it over to you, paul, just want to confirm that we are not sure at this point if this was something that had nothing to do with the former president that could have been. You spoke about this earlier. It could have been Road Rage. It could have been gang violence. Were not sure. So we want to be clear on that. Were not connecting the dots too early. But given what we do know, what are you thinking, paul . Well, obviously, the salient question is, was the president the target or not . And one of the things we do have to consider is that as of now, again, according to the details that we have there, it sounds like theres only one car and one person involved. So then you have to say to yourself, well, if there is only one person involved, who is he or she shooting at . And that does again admit the idea that weve been kind of, you know, moving away from a little bit that maybe Donald Trump was the target. We also know that an Ak 47 can be a long range gun, just as we saw in butler. So there are a lot of facts and counter facts here. And we just have to see the way it teases out. We dont want to put this to bed as being sort of not that significant relative to Donald Trump. Now on what we have, because obviously it was very near him and he is known to play golf and that is his Golf Course. So it is possible still. And we again, just have to keep that on the burner that Donald Trump was somehow or other the target here. And if we dont develop a second piece and theres one person, one car and one gun, the argument becomes who is this Person Shooting at . And as you said, there are Data Points to work with. The person may be identified if the car is not stolen, et cetera. And i can tell you that right now there are a lot of police and a lot of analysts who are really crunching who that person could be. Theyre looking at social media. Theyre already well into a deep dive on this. Theyre getting Emergency Search warrants. Theyre grabbing everything they can relative to a phone that may go back to this person. So we will know. I think, relatively soon. Its a good sign that theyre going to give Press Conferences soon. But we need we do need some sort of reassurance. I think today, sunday, i know a lot of people probably werent working, etc. This is one of those situations where the call comes, everybodys got to come in and you got to figure out what happened here to reassure the american public. After what we saw two months ago. Absolutely. And youre so right. Listen, the Palm Beach county Sheriffs Office is set to give a Press Conference sometime soon. Of course, were going to have that here for you on Fox News. And no, all hands are on deck when it doesnt matter if its Sunday Afternoon or overnight when you have an incident thats happening that close to the former president and also, given what we saw on July 13th in butler, pennsylvania, it is very crucial that we get these answers and get them quickly and you made the point earlier that the sooner we get the answers, the better, because we dont want to have any holes that are filled by any sort of Misinformation And Something else you said, paul, thats important as well. And that is while we are not trying to prematurely connect dots at the same time and not be hyperbolic about this, at the same time, we dont want to be too cavalier and completely dismissing that this may or may not have been something that was either directed at the president. So were not sure. So were trying to keep an even tone here across the board. But listen, Stand By for me because as i told you, were waiting to hear from the Palm Beach county Sheriffs Office. Theyre going to have lots of details for us. And as well as working in conjunction with the Secret Service, everybody wants to get the facts right and give it to us. Well have you on hold for us, paul. So when we get those that information, we can come back to you for analysis. But right now i want to send it over to eric. Yeah. As we wait for the West Palm Beach Sheriffs Office to inform us about this troubling incident, reports say a man, local reports there say a man now is in custody in connection to the shooting, that a black vehicle has been impounded. So you have one person in custody . According to local reports and a vehicle impounded. Lets bring in former u. S. Secret Service Agent charles marino, who has a lot of experience in this. Charles, if you have one person, not two, if there was a shootout, one gun, an Ak 47 recovered that can fire about more than 1000ft, about one fifth of a mile. What do you see potentially happening here as were going to get more information from what this could be . Thanks, eric. You know, a lot of attention has been given to the fact that this movement to the Golf Course was what we call an off the record movement, that it was not publicly known. However the difference is, is that this is a location that is known around the area that the former president frequents quite often. So thats what makes it rather unique and doesnt remove it entirely from the equation because of the former president s propensity to go there and play golf. So what it tells me is that there was significant protective action that needed to take place in response to either the site of this individual by Secret Service agents or the sounds of the gunfire. We dont quite know yet what caused the act. The agents to take the initial actions to get the president off of the course as quickly as they did. Theres going to be a lot of follow up in this investigation. As paul noted, a lot of information out there now with reports that someone is in custody and the Secret Service will participate in every step of this investigation to include speaking to the shooter to find out exactly was this person of record with the Secret Service, and is it tied to any ongoing threats . As we know, the former president is facing a heightened Threat Environment not only from foreign adversaries like iran, but also here within the united states. Our Threat Level in the country is the highest its ever been, so that needs to be taken into account. Thats why weve seen the actions of the Secret Service, who are on pins and needles as it is, as theyre under review based on the incident in butler, pennsylvania. Yeah. You mentioned iran not to get ahead of this at all, but we do know that they have targeted and tomorrow there will be a pakistani man arraigned on Assassination Plot to a potentially assassinate President Trump, former President Trump and other officials. That happening tomorrow. Charles, Stand By with more. Sean hannity is with us. Sean is in West Palm was going to meet. Hes been talking with the former president. Sean, what do you have . Well, first let me start with cnn. I dont often quote our competitors, but it says officials believe an armed individual intended to target Donald Trump. Thats what they are reporting at this hour. Now we have not confirmed that ourselves, but i just got off the phone with Eric Trump and he is a very alarmed, worried, concerned, rightly so, in every way imaginable. Son of a former president , top president ial candidate. And he raised the right question. He happens to be an incredible marksman. And these high powered rifles have have distances, ranges that, you know, you could hit a target from 1000 yards away. And he described at at Trump International in West Palm where the president was, which was on the fifth hole of the Golf Course on the putting green. It is one of the closest areas to where The Street is here. And one of the questions we have to have an answer to is if were talking about i said, well, how far is it . I said, is it 500 yards . He said, no, maybe 100, 200, less than 200 yards. So the question then that we have to get an answer to really quickly with a long Range Rifle 200 yards is its like a layup if you play in Basketball Or Tap in putt if youre playing golf. If you want a sports analogy, how did anybody with an Ak 47 get within that distance of a former president if it contradicts the new York Post story, which is two people were shooting at Each Other. Now, if it does turn out that the president was being targeted, and i Cant Confirm that for you, if it turns out that that is the case, we have to ask, how are people getting this close with rifles to President Donald Trump . Because this would now be the second time that happened, regardless of what went on in the outside of this, its irrelevant. When i spoke with arthel and you earlier in the program, i said, well, we have to now define a perimeter. What is a perimeter . That would be any distance where anybody with any small level of skill has a long Range Rifle and the ability to hit a target at that range, thats the perimeter. Can you and to think that this is that close to where the president was based on Erics Description to me of the Golf Course where this shooting took place, is it is unconscionable to me. Now, lets go back to where we were also. Earlier, we had democratic Senator Blumenthal say the country will be shocked and appalled when we get the information and the details that he received Behind Closed Doors as it relates to the Secret Service, the lead up, the handling of what happened in butler, pennsylvania. Sean, now we have another incident here where within a couple of hundred yards, somebody with a high powered rifle is near Donald Trump. That cannot happen to any politician. Lets break that down for a second. Eric says that the fifth hole, its in a public residential neighborhood, a commercial neighborhood. Its not like maralago by itself. The president is on the fifth hole, and thats about 100 yards from The Street, he said. It is one of the closest areas to The Street on the Golf Course, 100 yards yards. Is well, hes shorter than a Football Field okay. So hes looking at two Football Fields. But having been a shooter my entire life, my mom was a prison guard. I think, you know that. I can tell you that. That is an. Youre Sitting Duck at that range, eric. Youre a Sitting Duck. And if somebody has that rifle within that range of any high Level Politician in this country, weve got major problems here. Now its going to raise another question. And that is okay. If how did anybody get that close. How did they not know. And then we have one other factor here. The reason that the Secret Service, Law Enforcement were able to act so quickly and i want to also back up and say the president and Steve Witkoff, who he was playing golf with, both of whom i spoke to over three times now, you know, they talked about the professionalism of the Secret Service around them and how quickly they acted to protect the president. But thats not the question. The question is, is the range what the perimeter needs to be defined as . How did a gun get that close to the president . And if cnn is right, and the president was being targeted, we need to know if it was a shootout between two individuals. As the new York Post reported, we need to know. But either way, its unacceptable. And theres a theres a lot to answer for here. And this is really, really scary that were not protecting our elected officials. Yeah. I mean, and id say the same thing about any democrat too. Yeah. Yeah of course. Of course. Just keep in your mind 100 yards away from The Street. Thats a visual direct line of sight, potentially an Ak 47 can fire 330 yards. So, sean, as you say, thats. Well within the range of an Ak 47. If indeed this is one individual, a local Report Saying is now in custody who potentially attempted to target the former president. Heres one other factor. I think that we really have to think about. I was told by the president and by Steve Witkoff, who heard from officials almost immediately thereafter that not only was the weapon dropped, the Ak 47 is what they were told. They identified it as, but they also were able to get the information about the car that the shooter got into, and that enabled them to follow and find the shooter. And theres a theres a whole series of events that that have been unfolding. My understanding is that shooter is in custody. So if that is the case, again, i havent confirmed it with Law Enforcement, but they thats what they believe that this person is in custody. But the only reason that they were able to find this individual so quickly is because Drone Footage was available to them that they immediately turned around. Now, if the Drone Footage is available to get a picture of the vehicle, the License Plate number, the description of the individual, they see an Ak 47. Why didnt they see an Ak 47 . And secondly, well know if this was an Assassination Attempt that video has to. How long will will they wait to release that to the public . Because i think the public has a right to see that. We should see that. Well, sean, youre right. I mean, the public does have a right to see it. The public has a right to know every single detail available. And id like to think that theyre going to present it. Excuse me. Especially the pressure the Secret Service is under and has been under considering what happened in butler, pennsylvania. I want to get to what you said, sean, when you spoke to. Let me bring up one point to what youre saying, because youre youre raising a great point. Lets think back to butler. What were we told initially that that we didnt have agents on the roof because it was a sloped roof . We soon found out that there was a great a roof with a greater pitch. But we did have agents on that roof. Now, now that weve had a chance to actually look at the roof, where the where the shooter shot the president in the ear, you know, i used to do roofing guys. I fell off a roof nearly three stories and nearly died. And busted up my face and my arm. It was a mess. So i know what a sloped roof is on the roof in particular, that they that we were initially told was sloped. It wasnt sloped at all. And that is alarming to me because they didnt tell us The Truth from the very beginning. And you could almost put ice on it, let it freeze, and i could Ice Skate on the roof because the pitch was so it wasnt really a pitched roof in any way. Yeah. Go ahead. And sean, to your point. No, to your point, sean, because you mentioned how Eric Trump was pointing out that this fifth hole, the putting green, is the closest point of this Trump International Golf Course to The Street. And as you are also saying, that you mentioned perimeter, perimeter, exactly what should be the perimeter of protection. And thats pretty close. 100 to 200 yards with a clear sight from The Street as well. And i want you to speak to that, but i also want you to speak to at the same time, and ill toss it over to you. Eric also is now alarmed and worried because, according to other reports, that we have not confirmed, but you just told us that youre getting from another network, cnn, to be clear that an armed individual was intended to target Donald Trump. Now that these reports are out there again, were waiting to confirm it. Well get all the details from the Sheriffs Department when they when they come up with this Press Conference. But given that im interested in knowing what the former president his demeanor is now and we know that the former President Trump, hes not one hes not a wilting flower. Hes not one to hide. But given what is happening in the state of things right now and this may be too early, but might he consider im not saying that he doesnt have a right, of course, to play golf on his Golf Course, but might he consider some of his more public events that have been taking place . Ive known President Trump for almost 30 years. I know Eric Sean has also known him a long time. Hes been a he you know, hes used a lot of Shoe Leather on The Streets of new york, doing amazing reporting his entire career. And i know him well enough to know that he will not he will not cower. He will not back down. He will not say, oh, im not going to play golf because its too close to a street. However, its really not his job to secure the perimeter. The perimeter that youre talking about has to be defined as any range where any high powered rifle can can hit a target, such as in this case, a former president and a president ial candidate. As it relates to the Drone Footage, i dont think we can put enough emphasis on this. The reason they were told and they relayed to me specifically that they were able to discover the car, the location, the License Plate and able to track it down so quickly was because of that footage that would tell me that they probably have footage of the actual shooting, and we should they should know at this Press Conference and be able to inform us and whether or not they have examined that footage, whats on that footage, and if, in fact, this was an Assassination Attempt as as one network is reporting, they believe they that theyre quoting sources close to the case saying that they believe now that thats what the case is, ive not been able to confirm that. I dont like to get ahead of myself on these issues. But the president s attitude you asked about to hes hes you know, once he knew everybody was safe. Steve witkoff, you know, called me and said, i started shaking my head. Hes like, wheres steve . Wheres steve . Because the president was brought to safety first and then Everybody Else, which naturally would be the case was brought to safety. And steve heard him ask him asking where steve is. Everybody else safe . He finds out theyre safe. And then hes like, oh, i wanted to finish that whole i was even and i had a Birdie Putt. So i dont think Donald Trump, the Donald Trump we know is going to change. You know, sean, if you have to be clear, i just want to clear up something quickly, eric, because i want to be clear, sean, that i dont know, the former president , the way you do, but but what i do know of him, i wouldnt expect him to back down either. So i wasnt suggesting that he should. But just wondering if for a nanosecond that would have crossed the mind. But really, it does beg to emphasize your point of the perimeter to of protection and what that should be. And you know, to make sure that hes being protected as he should. Eric. He is. I was going to say hes a defiant new yorker. As you know, sean, lets say that what i wanted to bring up is why was someone allowed as close that potentially that close 100 yards . Why was someone on that street, why wasnt that street closed potentially, if this gunman was there targeting the president , as is being reporte, potentially it was Eric Trump. Im not familiar with the Golf Course. Ive never played the Golf Course. Eric trump i asked eric, i said, how far away was The Street, the location where we believe this happened to the green, where your father was. He said it was less than 200 yards with the type of rifle were discussing here. Again, the only ill use sports analogies. Its a layup. Its a one foot putt, maybe a Tap In and too close for anybody with that weapon to be anywhere near any high Ranking Official in our government, republican or democrat, it doesnt matter. It has. We have to keep our elected officials and our candidates safe. Something has broken down here on a on a very large level. It is broken. And i want to say another thing. Every night on the show, and i can pull up my jacket, which is over here, i have a i have a button right there. Its a Secret Service button. And i got it from the agents that ive met over the years. And so many of them ive come to admire for their bravery and their courage. What Steve Witkoff described to me today, watching them in action, the agents around the president , how quickly they they dove on him, tackled him, put their own bodies in Harms Way to protect him. Those are amazing people. But it doesnt mean institutionally that things arent breaking down. And that is going to be the major question moving forward. Whatever shocked Senator Blumenthal into saying that the public will be shocked and appalled at what we learn about butler. It really i shudder to think. On top of that, what happened today, because a gun, a rifle, a high powered rifle got within short range of President Trump and we had four shots that were have four sho. Site.
