democrats are telling him don't do this. is a terrible thing. he seems to have a mind of his own. >> we have seen plenty of people who have big dreams about becoming president of the united states and if the nomination of the party is unavailable to them. some of them think that if they come candidate of a third party they will somehow galvanize some magical part and become election -- like to progressed and we had a series of third party candidate who went close to winning the election was 1912 with theater roosevelt writing as a candidate of the credit -- progressive party. that was a former president and a huge personality. nobody it seems to be has the selector or the draw that he had and no, i don't think that they are likely to win the presidency. >> dana: i want to talk about the youth vote for a moment. the recent nbc poll, it had trumped beating biden 46-42 sometimes the youth vote is dismissed. but their turnout numbers in the last few elections even in specials and the returns have been quite high. is this a major concern for the white house, how would you rate it. >> i would rate it as a significant concern for coming, the polls showed that a group that joe biden won by 20 some odd points in 2020 is up for grabs. no, we got knock it we got to be a little bit careful about this. you know, poll alert here, nbc poll was a sample of a thousand. and that means the 18 to 34-year-olds, 250, and the margin of error in the plus or minus on that is 6%. so trump could be a head or trim could be behind. by then, be ahead. biden could be behind. but the fact that we -- they are that close is a real problem because this is a group that helped pile -- power joe biden into the white house in 2020 and is traditionally a democratic strain. >> bill: karl, i think for him the next 11 months, we're going to hear a lot of talk about joe biden's numbers, about him being too old and he being 86 years old. i do think to take the d&c cares. i think what they care about is data. i think what they care about is finding voters in these critical parts of these pentagram estates and getting them to turn out and vote. and i don't know if drnc is able to even come close to matching what they have done. what do you think about that? >> well, if it is a question of that, the republicans have just the good of a bunch of data as to democrats. the question is, who is the candidate and can they have a message that helps drive people to the polls and an organization that can help bring those that are on the edges of turning out into the pool and that is something we won't know for 10 or 11 months. but think about this. this is a problem for the democrats because the major issue is joe biden up to the job of being president? is going to work? >> look, i really hope so, dana and bill. when i was in israel last week and, i met with a number of the families whose family members have been held hostage now for over seven weeks. and, you know, they gave me this dog tag to keep with me. it says, bring them home now. and i think that is exactly the imperative, not only to israeli hostage, but for the american hostages that are held there as well. there needs to be doing made. i biden administration is working hard to getting it done. because those folks need to stop the suffering of those innocent people who were taken hostage by the terrorist organization of hamas. >> bill: dana has said this before and we were just talking during the break. the leaders of hamas are living in carter. and they made a lot of money. was there any conversation about taking them out. >> look, you know, i did not get into specific with the idf forces that i met with. specific work plans in terms of what they intend to do. and so i don't have any information on that. but what i did learn when i was there was the level of inhumanity that those hamas leaders and their soldiers visited on the people of israel. i wanted -- went into a kibbutz like i said, 600 yards from the gaza strip. and i went into a home, of a couple who had just been mar married. is us on in the video right to, but the young woman was killed on her couch. still bloodstains, you could smell death in that place. her husband was killed in the doorway of their bedroom. i counted it. there were 140 bullet holes in this small four room h that kild two people. the joy they showed visiting this inhumanity, these innocent civilians was breathtaking. and what it tells me is there's no alternative, but for israel to degrade hamas' literally capable to the park where they can't visit this type of threat, again, we -- you see me walking around they go with the speaker of the connection. he said to me, how do i tell these families to come back and rebuild their homes if hamas still has a military capability? that is exactly the question to be asking. and for those people who want a cease-fire, listen, there was a cease-fire on october 6. it was hamas that broke it on october 7th. >> dana: bernie sanders is saying that eight will come but there has to be some changes but this is a "back from him. netanyahu, government must understand that not one penny will be coming to israel from the u.s. unless there is a fundamental change in their military and political positions. what do you make about the political divide here in this country when it comes to aiding israel? >> i don't understand it, dana. the fact is israel is the only democracy in the middle east. israel is one of our greatest if not our greatest ally in the world. and for someone like senator sanders, they have a hard time running covers. maybe they should not be spending their time trying to run another -- maybe he should get a budget done in the united states scented. maybe he should get that worked and there that is, that is to gget done to secure our border. he should get that work done before he is dictating to another government what to do. the fact is, this is wartime, and it is difficult. and i have confidence in the israeli defense forces to be able to do the job the right way. unconvinced from what i saw that they are doing everything they can to try to minimize the deaths of palestinian civilians. but here's the problem. hamas is forcing the civilians to stay in areas that are militarized because they want to use them as human shields and propaganda weapons. against the israel around the world. the fact is that israel is doing more to try to protect innocent palestinian civilians than hamas is. >> bill: yeah, well, the protests here in america are just growing larger to be frank with you. and i don't think governor in this does this war has been on for what, six weeks, 60 days ago, 45 days ago, no one in this country predicted that you would see the number of people in the streets and these college campuses protesting israel as a country. or grand central station or penn station on friday night. it goes on and on. i'm wondering from your perspective as you. >> the country, what do you think -- where do you think that comes from. >> it comes from an underlying deep-seated anti-semitism that exists on college campuses and in other places all over this country. it has been there. you know, our live in the most ethnically diverse state in america in new jersey. i can tell you what goes when i was governor, we had a number of incidents of anti-semitism where i sent the state police out to the synagogues and this is years ago now around the state to ensure that those folks were protected and able to practice their faith. the fact is that that anti-semitism exists and it is flourishing on our college campuses. the radical professors that get hired at the college campuses who have an agenda that is anti-semitic. and that is what i have called for the hiring of the president of harvard, the president of penn, and the president of cornell, who have hired these faculty, tenured them, and allowed them to spew their anti-semitic hate to 18-year-old, young people, and try to teach them that that is really the way the work should be. it is not put me to stand up against the higher education bureaucracy in this country that is allowing this to happen and pestering this on college campuses and it is wrong. and those of us in this country who have leadership positions need to be saying it. and this is one of the areas where i think president biden has not been strong enough. there is not an acquaintance right now in this country with anti-semitism and islamophobia. and you can see it from the things that are happening on college campuses, so let's stop making fake moral equivalence is and let's and let's talk about whether the truth is on the ground and that is that emma sage a -- anti-semitism is being given opportunity to be flourishing in this country right now and leaders need to stop it. >> bill: thank you and i know you i know you are up in new hampshire campaigning. >> we talked about an important issue on israel and its survival. thank you. >> bill: thank you, sir. >> really important. thank you happy thanksgiving.
