There is an american serving in the Israeli Defense force and another woman, a 66yearold mom of four and grandmother of seven who spent most of her adult life as a nurse and a midwife. Countless lives touched by her as she brought new life into the world. Their families today. There were two texts in a row from our son at 8 11. The first one said i love you, and immediately at 8 11 also it said im sorry. I took it to mean i love you and im sorry because whatever is going to happen is going to toss cause you tremendous pain and worry. It is not a war, a fair fight. It is a pagrome. Hundreds of heavily armed well orga organized terrorists came over the border to kill, maim and destroy civilian life around the border. All we ask from the Biden Administration and the Secretary Of State blinken is to act to the Immediate Release of all hostages and remember that the u. S. The air force hitting Something Like 250 targets inside gaza that they describe as the infrastructure of the hamas militants. Where were standing right now after 3 1 2, 4 days of fighting, the israeli army is saying they are in control of this town and 21 other towns. But again thats a long time. Hamas militants were inside and did battle with the police and with the soldiers. And they finally lost out. In fact, it took the entire Police Station down and now they are tearing it down. They are clearing it away. In the words of one resident so we can build again. Thats the determination here. The Hostage Situation is very serious. Hostages have been taken from here and other towns. They are inside gaza. As you have been saying, americans involved. Americans speaking out. On top of the death toll. Remember, 900 plus dead on the israeli side including 11 americans. Also palestinians, close to 800 palestinians dead and thousands of wounded on both sides. A lot of destruction there but a lot of fear and pain on this side. We can tell you that. Weve heard from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the last 24 hours. He has been saying this coming Military Move will be something that generations will remember. We have a little foretaste of it here today. Weve been watching dozens of tanks lining up along the border ready to go in if the decision is made to do it on the ground. That could be a tricky matter. Harris greg, before i let you go, something that has been really startling to watch today is how fast we are learning those Hostage Stories and we know that hamas and its blood thirsty evil has been putting out videos and will continue to show the world what it is doing to basically annihilate a population of people they were living next to. They are not kind to their own people. So what you spell out is also getting a lot of palestinians killed because of the way that they are fighting and the way that they are drawing in now an entire force from israel. I have think thats a very good point, harris. There are 2. 3 million People Living in the gaza strip. One of the most densely Populated Areas of the world. For the most important they are not involved in what these militants are doing so these militants are not only doing harm to israelis and americans and others that weve been seeing but doing harm to their own people. This morning americans are pleading for the safe return of their missing Family Members and imploring the president and Israeli Government to communicate with them and take action. There are many horrific videos emerging showing the moments that women, men and even children were suddenly taken captive by hamas. Israel alone estimates hamas is holding more than 150 soldiers and civilians in hostage gaza and they are threatening to start killing hostages if israel strikes civilians without warning. One man was on the phone with his mother as she was abducted. It is our hope, which is a little bit ridiculous at this stage to say that the optimistic scenario here is that she is held hostage in gaza and not dead on the street. And one young woman tells fox news that her family discovered her brother was abducted. Her brother was marched through a streets by an armed terrorist. He was taken from the Music Festival. She is sharing the video of her brother to help find her but having difficulty watching this footage. They posted a lot of disturbing pictures and videos on telegram and i really cant im sorry, i cant watch this video. And right now there are any number of americans remaining in israel that are trying to get out. It is growing more difficult as airlines like delta and american have stopped flying to tel aviv. When you stop flying to and fro tel aviv you cant be the solution. Any threats against the airlines that they would do that or what is the calculus. They were trying to fly out on friday. They are trying to get on an Israeli Airline to athens, greece today. He says there is no guarantee theyll get on the plane and further they expose themselves to any incoming missiles or anything like that on their way to the airport. Harris talk to me about something that i just learned this morning, the fact that when you look at the numbers of how many people have gotten involved, the ambassador was just saying they must have gotten funding and training and he specifically said the iranians because he knew of Military Training where hamas was flying to iran for that Military Training. Are we as a country able to keep up with that . We havent been paying attention. This is actually these are meetings that go back well over a year ago in preparation that hamas with the backing of iran have been putting in place. Training, movement of munitions, all towards the eventual day that tehran would say now is the time to go for all the reasons the ambassador laid out. The right time for iran to pull the trigger on this because they want to keep the israelis from having any peaceful Company Existence with their neighbors. And so we know that the israelis are in there and i would imagine, brent, we wont know that they go in on the ground until they do. I hope they dont tell the world what their plan is because they need the element as much as one can have one in this type of situation if at least not surprise, stunning preparation. I do want to hit this, though. One of the darkest moments that i can remember in recent history, it has to do with the leadership in the white house, was the exit of afghanistan after 20 years of war and how deadly that was for americans and all the people who helped us. We left treasure, Military Equipment and A Bunch Of Stuff and lost a lot of lives. The germans, most of Western Europe got their people Behind Enemy Lines. We didnt do much of that. You were hearing about extr extractions with people trying to go in. What went wrong in afghanistan such that we might not even go get our own people in this . Are we bad at it, biden doesnt want it to happen or what . There is a lot there to digest and i think historians will be digesting it for a long time. The world is a small place. American reputation and credibility has been severely damaged and no surprise that after afghanistan and the deback also there have magnified. In asia im concerned with the chinese. The Ground Invasion appears to be imminent at this point with the israelis promising it will be so devastating they will dismantle the Military Capability of hamas. We know the Israeli Security cabinet will meet in about an hour and a half and see if that gets the tanks rolling on the ground. One more anecdote to share. Some of the palestinian rockets have been able to reach all the way to the west bank. One of the rockets this afternoon did that. It resulted in the death of a palestinian worker. Harris i want to ask you quickly about whats going on in the northern border. Interesting because normal Naval Captain brent nadler mentioned this and so did the ambassador, the idea that hezbollah would come out of lebanon and fight on that northern border giving a second front and you have a third one potentially. I dont know what on the bottom end of the gaza strip egypt will do other than close its border but it is something worth watching as well. What movement do you see . Can israel fight on multiple fronts based on not actually having gone in to get hamas yet in gaza . You have to remember that one of the things that the Israeli Defense force depends on is the reserve service. Some 300,000 reservists have been called up. So the manpower is there. The will is there. These planes that are still making it into the airport are packed with particularly young men who want to come and join and do their reserve duty. Really the limiting factor would be supplies. 155 millimeter Artillery Shells and the interceptersor the iron dome. Harris anything else youre hearing from the u. S. S. Gerald ford in the immediate tear anian. Im not privy to the supplies. They are there as a threat to keep anybody else from getting involved. I listen to you and it is not happening to somebody else, it is happening to you and the people that you love. And i cant even imagine. So what are you watching for that you need right now to learn more about . Is it that the United States is getting more involved . What are you pinning your hopes on now . If i understand your question correctly, obviously the support of the United States is a big, big comfort. If i could say thank you it wouldnt matter to anyone then i am thanking the support of the United States. If i can tell you about what i am feeling as a citizen an Israeli Jewish person, that this is nothing weve ever seen before. We are dealing with the most savage animals known to mankind. Families were murdered inside of their homes. Hundreds got abducted to gaza. Children, women, men, babies, elderly. I have people on the news looking for their grandmother, mothers screaming their lungs out searching for their sons and daughters. Its just horrible. I cant even explain it. I dont think a human mind can even comprehend this situation. Over 6,000 rockets, even 7,000, i dont know were fired towards israel so far. We are dealing with the worst enemy, the worst enemy. My condolences go to the families that actually have been through this horror movie in the southern cities of our country. Harris still going through it in the south.
