Former Schenectady County corrections sergeant indicted in jail assault case; Official misconduct charged | The Daily Gazette

SCHENECTADY COUNTY — A former corrections sergeant who was on duty when a detainee was assaulted by a Schenectady County corrections officer has been indicted on two misdemeanor counts of official misconduct, the Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office said Thursday.
A grand jury on Wednesday indicted former Sgt. Timothy Bruce for not seeking medical attention for the detainee, who was allegedly beaten by corrections officer Eugene Sellie last Nov. 9, following an argument about how long it was taking to release the detainee. The person beaten was earlier identifed as John Mannarino.
