Fire near Hwy 99E between Canby, Oregon City prompts evacuation notice

Evacuations lifted for fire near Highway 99E between Canby, Oregon City

Evacuation notices issued for a brush fire burning near Highway 99E in Clackamas County have been lifted for homes in the area.
Fire crews responded around 4 p.m. Wednesday to an area along the highway near South End Road where the fire burned up steep terrain to the ridge above.
Officials say crews were able to bring the fire under control, allowing the evacuations to be lifted by 8:20 p.m.
A community briefing is scheduled for 9:15 p.m. to be streamed on the county's Facebook page at facebook.com/ClackamasCounty.
