For how shes handled the National Guardsmen from out of state in her home district tweeting this, if she does not treat these men and women while we will bring in a Different Group of men and women. The mayor pushed back that she evicted a group of National Guard men from the Marriott Hotel in d. C. Saying she did not kick them out, she is just not footing the bill. These residents cannot pay their bills. Either the department of the army or their home state will have to take care of the arrangement. The mayors move is being criticized as political and the unfairly routing the troops. They say this in a statement, evicting utah National Guard personnel from their hotels after a late night shift risking their lives to protect washington is a shameful petty discrediting decision and if the mayor has a problem with President Trump she should take it up with him, not take it out on the National Guard, 4500 National Guard troops from around the country remain here in d. C. And a u. S. Defense official told fox news all 900 activeduty troops are being sent home, this is happening one day before d. C. Is expected to get one of the largest marches ever, a campaign to get 1 Million People here on the ground and washington, d. C. Lets start with the job numbers, wall street has rallied all week, you look at the civil unwrap all the rest the country, where we see in something they do not see and clearly they were they were looking forward and looking at a recovery in people getting back to work, nobody expected this to be a blowout. Your take. If you think about it over the last three months if somebody wouldve said the nasdaq wouldve been at all time high in the beginning of june nobody would believe that. And this jumps to trumps drink. He is the president. We have the oped coming out how bidens policies would push it into depression and the strength and with the rising polls for the approval for him, the democrats and biden are in trouble right now. Jackie 13. 3 is a high number but before the covid pandemic, we were looking unemployment at 50 year lows. The question is the president was optimistic on a recovery and how things get better month after month and the question is when do we get back to that number. Larry kudlow has said these job losses are temporary. In fact some of them are but some of them will not be like restaurants in california expect 30 to never reopen. So there will be some, the economy on july 1 will be smaller than the one on februare president ial election, people are getting a pass to the president on the weak economy because they saw the shut down. But now they know the democrats want to keep it that way and the president has branded himself as the one who wants to open it up, that is a win for trump but it will take some time for the economy to come back in full and past the election unless joe biden gets an elected and the economy will go south. You bring up the election and thats a fantastic point and i think the trump team is looking at november and saying we dealt with a pandemic like this, we have the economy back on track and the numbers are going the right way, the trends look right, will it be enough for him to say ive done an Amazing Things with this economy even if its not where i wanted to be. The vast majority of people are decent, we have to appeal to that and unite people, bring them together. Bring them together. The vast majority are decent but ten to 15 of americans are not. This gives me flashback to 2016 with Hillary Clinton and the deplorable, how can you sit there and say that. In 2018 you talk about the society and in the same sentence he says we should unite the 10 o 50 million americans and joe biden when he goes offthecuff its nothing but trouble but it is not really going to work with the economy coming back, the stagnant economy has groups of americans fighting each other in the Green Economy you see Higher National purpose. For biden to sit there and say those things, hes been lucky hes been off the campaign trail otherwise we would have a lot more of those, you cannot be an uniter and say 50 million americans are bad. Jackie there are a lot of folks who may think one way and may think another way but when they get into the voting booth, they think with their wallet and when you look at the pandemic and the damage thats happened across the American Economy it was not the president s fault, anybody who had been in his position wouldve had to deal with it and hes dealt with it. In a notably when you look at the 401k and the dow and the nasdaq are trading right now and all the losses depending on what youre invested in, they pretty much come back and that makes people feel good. It does, the democrats have branded themselves the party of the shutdown. Nancy pelosi and california, shes happy with l. A. Being shut down for the end of the year. That is the democrat brand right now where trump says im fighting for your job, that is an easy winner, and for your job and they want to keep you shut down, thats the narrative on election day then trump should have a comfortable victory close but comfortable. Jackie a lot of people criticizing the president for what is going on across the country even blaming him when it comes to george floyd in some ways, it seems like hes done everything that he can and its getting a bad rap for that, your thoughts on what he couldve done better. In the moment its difficult with your words, theres no question about that, joe biden is a living example of that. Maybe at times trump can be more empathetic but lets face the facts of what he did. He acted immediately with the d. O. J. And this happen. He does not give credit to the bill that he signed versus what biden did in 94 and he does not give credit to the fact that he has funded colleges and he does not give credit for the fact of the job numbers. At the end of the day our country is fighting about whether stealing is okay, the democrats are being indulgent on this and that scares independent voters, the president is doing better than the democrats for sure and at the end of the day we have to have law and order, my own business i had to vacate it and there was a shooting 500 yards from my office and a lack of Police Protection because police are not afforded the support that they need, america does not want that on election day to be sure. I think most of us thought in june, certainly by july we would see employment gains and the reason why economists were so far off, they were looking at the weekly jobless points, usually provide a pretty good idea of what the employment numbers are going to do, those numbers have come down there still ten times higher than they were prior to the covert outbreak. And the fact that it worked should be celebrated. But i really do think that what this comes down to, it really deals with what the president said about the strong foundati foundation, there was not anything that was fundamentally broken in the u. S. Economy before we had the coronavirus outbreak and because there was nothing fundamentally broken, once the fever broke the economy is recovering. Jackie this was really truly an event that nobody could control. Thats a point that we wanted. Theyre not the ones that we wanted. Jackie you look at the industries rebounding, just a month ago, six weeks ago when we talked about the pandemic and the coronavirus people were saying i dont know i want to get on a plane or sit in a restaurant, i was one of those people and its interesting to see the airlines coming back in the hospitality coming back, people are being tired of being locked down. But we have a long way to go. We still lost jobs in the airlines and hotels in the month of may and theyve only inched up a little bit in airline and the people going through tsa checkpoint is about down 87 from a year ago. I guess if youre an optimist, thats more improvement that we have in front of us. I think we will see larger employment numbers in the month to come. One of the interesting steps, a lot of doctors offices and dentist offices were shut down and 10 with employment incurred and dentist offices and that only brings back about one third of the folks who lost their jobs because of the offices had to shut down. Lets talk about paul for a second and his suggestion that the Trump Administration is in charged, perhaps these numbers were falsified by the labor statistics, can you respond to that. Paul is a brilliant economist but when it comes to politics he goes off the rails a little bit. In terms of whether the bls did something, the folks that work there are career government workers, they will not monkey around with the data one way or another, i never have doubts and ive never doubted at all that the data is clean and they dont think they would be inclined to help donald trump because federal government workers typically lean very heavily toward the Democratic Party not toward the Republican Party. Jackie was say what you want about President Trump in your feelings about him particularly aside but to target the bls seems a little bit it would call into question the integrity of all of our data if we did that. Everybody who works there knows that. But the way that they are put together no one person has that much control, there is a great deal of security that goes into putting these numbers together. I think its more likely that we will find out that there was some admissions and we may find out that the job loss march and april is larger than we thought but i dont think theres any question that the direction has changed. We have the Peaceful Protesters with our compassion and empathy and the right to protest your vows to group the anarchists and antifa are coming in and getting violent. And you have another group that are the looters taken advantage of the situation in the chaos to steal personal property and engage in vandalism and et cetera. What is so sad, the rioters and those engaged in looting are dragging out the message of the Peaceful Protesters who want justice for george floyd. So thats whats going on right now. You cannot have this lawlessness going on or the anarchy going on, you have to be a country of laws. I just want to back up for a second because i was reading the brief that judge sullivan submitted, i have it right here and basically what judge sullivan is saying at this point the Justice Department wants to drop the case, i dont think we should drop it, as a matter fact i think somebody else should take over and look into the review the case and asked the question if flynn should face contempt charges paid as they read the brief, it was missing a lot of information on why the Justice Department was inclined to do that. Your thoughts. Exactly. They create their own field of dreams and completely leave out all the exculpatory evidence in the independent reviews done by a Career Department of justice and fbi agent, mr. Jensen, the current u. S. Attorney in missouri. He spent ten years in the fbi in ten years as a federal prosecutor before he became the u. S. Attorney that attorney general barr assigned the governments own files for information that was never produced to the defense as their obligation under the constitution to produce evidence. Anything that will take the defendant or the government case. Thats what he did and thats what the attached, their brief was 20 pages and attached another 80 pages or so documents that showed general flynn should never have been investigated, they had no basis whatsoever to investigate so then the call transcripts came out reflecting the conversation with ambassador kislyak to show they had no reason to investigate him because the calls were appropriate in every sense of the word for the member of the president ial Transition Team in their cold case was made up. Theres two key provisions of the constitution itself that prohibit judge sullivan from doing what hes done, he cannot go out and create his own controversy when the party has agreed to dismiss it and only the executive branch and the department of justice has the right to bring charges in, he does not have contempt power over the issue to pursue an attempt investigation on. Theyre not even of the same world, theres no doubt that george floyd deserves justice, i am thankful for folks who are protesting in the vein of john lewis because of his Peaceful Demonstrations led to social transformation that our country embraced and thankfully were doing better because of it, look at the violent agitators, they should not be considered in the same conversation with the Peaceful Protesters, Peaceful Protesters are selfless, violent agitators are selfish, theyre taking all the focus in putting on themselves and frankly the best ive seen lately are Peaceful Protesters and Police Officers forming a line to protect businesses, that is what america is about thats what makes america great, when people come together who may have some tension even in Work Together for a better outcome that the violent protesters, they are getting too much air already, we should suck the oxygen out of that room because its not a no longterm best interest and honor shortterm best interest, its only a distraction from making progress for americans. Jackie lets talk about george floyd case specifically, all four officers arrested, they will have to answer for what happened that night, the question is is just is going to be served, how does the healing process begin . I see the healing process begins, we had experience with that in South Carolina after the walter scott murder, myself and congressman trey started bringing africanamericans and Law Enforcement officers together to have a conversation, no cameras, no press, just having conversations, what ultimately occurred black leaders started doing right along with officers to realize theres no such thing as a normal traffic stop, when Police Officers and spent time in the Africanamerican Community to understand the pains and challenges, when you have lines of communications that are bridged we get Better Outcomes and frankly one of the things that congressman said and i like to take credit for even though he said it, its hard to hate up close its hard to hate what you know, thats a simple step, there is no law that we can pass that says we can figure out how to legislate the heart, that will not happen but what we can do is make significant progress in what were doing now is having a serious conversation about the next steps, things like giving us a preview into whats going on around the country, and give you a example of people in legislation what were working on the george floyd notification act when use of force leads to death, are there patterns, get more information so we can help fund the right program, the rate training, the right opportunities to help Law Enforcement officers and members of the community go home to their families in a very safe way.
