Last month the secret service evacuated the White House Briefing room for 30 minutes because of what they said was a bomb threat phoned into washington police. That very same day Capitol Police evacuated the dirkson Office Senate building, after a bomb threat was phoned in. Reporter it was a Massive Police response on the eve of the july 4th weekend after reports of shots fired. Received a report of an active shooter at 07 29. We responded to that and called in assistance from metro d. C. Reporter then the Washington Navy yard where 12 employees were gunned down in 2013 by a mentally ill military contractor was in lockdown. As employees took shelter, federal and local Law Enforcement responded as if the threat was credible. After searching building 197, the same scene as the 013 incident, and questioning the person who called the alarm, Police Confirmed no active shooter and the allclear was given. We have interviewed the person, no concerns whatsoever. This is an employee that did exactly what we ask employees to do. Reporter d. C. The problem, though, is that syria, turkey and iran are all opposed to turkish independence, and the theory is if they acquire significant firepower, it will be part of the step, part of the dance down toward independence. My guess is the Obama Administration is tied in knots a bit because of the Nuclear Negotiations with iran. They dont want to upset the dynamics right now and thats probably driving some of the conduct. Lou those are knots that have constrained the administration for the past four years, ever since the United States left iraq. Are there knots that they need to cut here and provide weaponry to the kurds and simply take the position the kurds will be an ally of the United States. In a vacuum thats what should happen. We have to calibrate what would happen with the turks and the iranians over the long term. But my preference would be, i think, to start filtering weapons for the kurds, let them have victories and tell the turks and iranians, sorry, this is what has to happen on the field of battle. Theres been tremendous ambiguity, and certainly at the time when this administration threw mubarak over the side and embraced the Muslim Brotherhood. President said he wanted to be on the right side of history, now run over by history, and history is not going to be kind because this is a situation that has spun out of control. They were very slow in returning foreign aid to the egyptian government. They have undercut him, and it does make you wonder what their final objective is. My guess is they dont have one. Lou saudi arabia, it has been a terrifically important ally for this country for decades. You know as much about saudi arabia as any american. We dont seem to be treating our former ally, and i say former ally, theyre not being treated as one now, very well. What is behind this . I think its hard to divine. Part of it is a lack of personal relationships on the world scale by this president. He doesnt seem to be interested in making personal relationships. Second, i think he has this notion theres going to be some sort of Popular Uprising in the middle east where the gulf monarchies will be made to behave better. Human rights and womens rights and religious freedom, which we all support. Lou this administration has basically ignored in that region, and basically ignored it. They ignored that and to their peril in a way, by the same token, they have failed to gived saudis, the amriadys any sense of participation and Strategic Decisions made in the neighborhood. And more than anything else, more than a businessman, more than a politician, hes a celebrity, and values celebritidom, and theres a reason you have very, very few outspokenly conservative celebrities, because you usually dont survive in that role. I do think at the same time, as i said, in my commentary tonight, i believe trump may be honestly one of the few people in the entire Republican Party who has the resources, the guts, if you will, the flare, the celebrity, as you said, rich, to actually withstand. This were going to find out how much donald trump sincerely, honestly at heart wants to be president because of what he has to endure, what do you think, lisa . Thats the big question, is he serious . This is a guy who flirted with the president ial run for almost 20 years now, i think thats the big question on everyones mind. Lou remember in 2008, he said he didnt want to be a republican anymore, he was so disgusted with the system. I think theres a trajectory here for his decisionmaking, if you will. I know hes been accused of being exploited for his own celebrity and part of that is true, but he knows what hes in for now because hes looking at hundreds of million at risk for a billionaire, thats real money. Right. And i think hes certainly got a taste for what it actually means to run for president. But its still to be seen. Is he serious about running . We dont know that. We know hes withstanding a lot of heat right now, but is he going to file his financial disclosures. Lou how serious do we think the other candidates are . This isnt a litmus test on seriousness, hes risking hundreds of millions of dollars, that looks like a guy that is dad gum serious. Many have pursued politics as a clear, its unclear with trump. I said a couple weeks ago, it will end up on the celebrity apprentice, well, thats not going to happen maybe he is in for the duration now. Lou he probably heard you say that. Exactly. I think the nature of the immigrants coming from mexico is a serious issue, but the way he expressed it was extremely crude and does more to discredit those arguments. Lou yeah.
