Fauquier COVID-19 death toll up 2 Monday morning

Fauquier on Monday morning has 2 more deaths attributed to COVID-19, bringing the county total to 45 fatalities since the pandemic started.
It marks the third consecutive day of multiple fatalities added to Fauquier’s total during the pandemic. The state health department reported 2 more deaths here Sunday and 4 more Saturday.
Details about those deaths were unavailable Monday morning. But, it often takes weeks or months to determine and report the cause of death in a case.
They “appear to be deaths from the fall that are a result of the state's changing definitions of COVID-19 related deaths,” Dr. Wade Kartchner, the Rappahannock Rapidan Health District medical director, wrote in an email Saturday afternoon. “Our epidemiologist will get me details on Monday.”
