The development of a tool to track tiny house construction is putting Windsor/Essex County at the forefront of creating solutions to help reduce barriers to affordability.
Family Services Windsor-Essex will use $200,000 in federal funding announced Tuesday to advance a web-based mapping tool proposal, said executive director Joyce Zuk.

The project, titled Maintaining Affordability through ADUs: A Tracking and Analysis Model, is being developed by a team of local researchers led by Sarah Cipkar, a PhD student in planning at the University of Toronto and a consultant through her company Cipkar Development.
