PARIS, Feb 4 (Reuters) - European prompt electricity prices gained on Thursday on lower demand ahead of the weekend.
* German baseload power for the day ahead ticked up 2.2% to 51.10 euros ($61.25) per megawatt hour (MWh) at 0932 GMT.
* The equivalent French contract added 4% to 51.75 euros.
* Paris-based European spot power exchange Epex Spot traded 53.8 TWh on its day-ahead and intraday power markets in January, 2.1% more than a year earlier.
* Of the January total, the French day-ahead segment traded a new monthly record of 11.7 GWh, 11.3% up on the same month last year.
* Consumption in Germany is forecast to ease by 670 megawatts (MW) on Friday to stand at 62.8 gigawatts (GW).
