June 15, 2021 GMT
FILE - In this Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019 file photo, smoke rises from chimneys of the Turow power plant located by the Turow lignite coal mine near the town of Bogatynia, Poland. The European Union’s top court says the Czech Republic is pressing for Poland to be fined 5 million euros for every day it ignores the court’s order last month to immediately shut a lignite mine near the two countries’ border. The announcement by the European Court of Justice came Tuesday, June 15, 2021 as Poland approved a strategy for the upcoming talks with the Czechs over the Turow mine.
