Since 2016, the Elite Paper Recycling (EPR) has created an eco-friendly environment by providing quality service and solutions to the corrugated carton industry.
Abdalla Al Suwaidi, EPR Chairman, disclosed that the company collects more than 4,500 tonnes of paper per month and 140 tonnes daily, exceeding 90 percent of Qatar’s waste paper.
Qatar produces more than 2.5 million tonnes of municipal solid waste each year. Solid waste mainly comprises organic materials, while the rest of the waste stream consists of recyclables like glass, paper, metals, and plastics.
“We get these wastes from supermarkets, hypermarkets, over 400 schools in partnership with us as well as banks, ministries and several neighbourhoods all over the country. We have more than 2500 dumpsters which only specialize in collecting cartons and papers, collecting 140 tonnes daily and over 4,500 tonnes monthly,” Al Suwaidi said.
