Harry Ollier was upset when Chester Zoo had to close during the pandemic.
The animal lover from Winsford decided to raise as much money as he could by walking two miles every day.
Harry braved rain and hailstones
His epic challenge saw him trek 216 miles for 97 days through rain, hail and snow and raise £734, just before his ninth birthday.
Harry finished his walk on the day the zoo re-opened and was clapped in by appreciative staff, who had arranged a big surprise for him.
The Cuddington Primary School pupil was thrilled to meet elephant keeper Katie Morrison to talk about his passion.
