Eight inches of home extension at Syerston Way, Newark, sparks planning debate
 | Updated: 17:10, 18 February 2021
It would be hard to justify refusing a planning application over eight inches, said a committee chairman.
The size difference was between what was classed as permitted development and that needing planning permission.
The householder at 51 Syerston Way, Newark, had applied for retrospective permission for a near-finished rear extension.

Newark and Sherwood District Council’s planning committee was told a conservatory had been replaced by an extension with a parapet roof and glazed roof lantern with a red plinth and block work above. It was proposed to be finished with an off-white render.
