Edwardsburgh Cardinal Township is negotiating to buy 10,000 acres from the Ontario government that was assembled in a provincial land bank half a century ago.
The land includes 2,000 acres that the township has pitched as a site for a major manufacturer as part of an Ontario government competition called the Job Site Challenge.

Mayor Pat Sayeau said this week that the township wants to put aside the 2,000 acres as an industrial site and sell the other surplus acres to farmers.
