Eagle Scout working to beautify community garden

A local community garden is getting a facelift thanks to a proposal by a local Eagle Scout.
Alexander High School student Erick Varela came up with an Eagle Scout project to beautify and give visual attraction to the urban garden located behind the Northeast Hillside Recreation Center in Blas Castañeda Park.
“I (propose changes) that (will) help more people find out how to join this program and for people who drive by McPherson can be captivated and grow an interest about the garden and its benefits,” Varela wrote in his proposal.
