There have been two occasions in his 95 years that Ken Hay has found himself a prisoner. The first was in July 1944 when the then 18-year-old private in the 4th battalion, the Dorset Regiment, was captured by Nazi troops shortly after the D-Day landings and held as a prisoner of war.
