And there are one hundred thirty five seats up for grabs in the state parliament and hand over based on the projected results the christian democrats will take forty nine of those seats the social democrats will have the largest share with fifty four the green party will have thirteen seats in the house the liberal f. D. P. Well what the social democrats who are the clear winners here certainly hope hoping for is that the final numbers and we might not learn that until well into monday might after all produce a continuation option for the social democrats and the green party who are currently just one seat short now failing that it would get incredibly complicated with the free democrats opposed business few democrats already ruling out going into coalition with the greens and the social democrats it basically gets complicated almost as complicated as it currently is in berlin where of course this signal is being heard very clearly that the christian democrats who did win in the end in those general elections despite suffering losses had a far way down here in the opinion polls where they were leading until just a couple weeks ago to then be beaten by the social democrats who now of course are getting this late boost after their election defeat here in lower saxony having said that its a bit like comparing apples with pears these were very regional issues here in lower saxony and the state premier a vial here was gaining in popularity as time went by so its a very different set up here but a clear signal towards ballen. And speaking of berlin thomas where were sitting here in berlin what does this result mean for the National Political scene is this bad news for angela marco it is indeed bad news for under merkel but i think mentioned the key word there my and that key word is signal although in these Regional Elections as much as you have regional topics at the forefront they do tend to set the tone of what will happen next in berlin and these the political debate among the parties and what comes next here in berlin and this in fact starts only in a few days is the negotiations for the possible future coalition at the federal level in other words im going to merkels conservative bloc trying to negotiate with the greens on the one hand with the liberals on the other hand and this is something that promises to be incredibly difficult there are topics where these parties do not see eye to eye on migration or europe obviously there are other aspects where they could find Common Ground more easily do you try is asian but it is something that is definitely not good news for on the medical result in lower saxony.
