A surprise move at one of the largest school districts in Ohio. A high school principal has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the conclusion of an investigation. Dr. Yejide Mack is not allowed to have any contact with students or staff and is banned from any school district property or at school events. But the question the veteran educator is asking is why.“I am a leader who leads strictly with students in mind,” Mack said. She is a first year principal at Lakota East High School but her 18-year career in education was dealt a blow this week.Mack was told Tuesday the administrative leave starts with less than two weeks remaining in the school year. In a letter from Rob Kramer, executive director of human resources said the administrative leave with full will be for an indefinite period of time.“I am disappointed in this decision to say the very least,” Mack said.In a memo sent to parents, the superintendent said the district is not at liberty to discuss details of the matter and Mack said she has received support throughout the year and doesn't understand and what happened.Mack's attorney Kelly Mulloy Myers said, “There is no legitimate basis for placing Dr. Mack a leave of absence. We look forward to a full investigation and resolution.”
