Downtown Lafayette Parking Changes Now on Hold
Changes to the Downtown Lafayette parking meter fees, as well as 24/7 monitoring was set to go into effect January 19. Mayor-President Josh Guillory now says those changes are on hold.
Josh Guillory says he made the decision to pause the parking changes after hearing Downtown stakeholder's concerns over the doubling of parking meter fees and 24/7 monitoring.
LCG Chief Communications Officer Jamie Angelle says the meter increase and other changes will likely
"be revisited in the future".
What those changes may eventually be are as of now uncertain.
As previously reported, the Downtown Development Authority and Downtown Lafayette Unlimited are co-hosting a public forum to discuss the parking changes. The public forum is set to take place Wednesday, February 3 at 8am.
