GHAZIABAD/NOIDA: The vaccination drive in Noida and Ghaziabad gained some pace on Monday after nearly a week’s slump.
Walk-ins resumed at some of the centres in Noida along with cluster inoculations that had to be stalled for five days last week due to shortage of doses.
The vaccination drive got the much-needed push after Ghaziabad received 33,000 doses for the next three days while Noida got 39,000 doses.
The health department in Ghaziabad already had 16,000 doses in stock.
Sources said both districts were planning to administer 20,000 vaccines daily over the next three days. However, cluster-based vaccinations will continue in six areas of Ghaziabad and two areas of Noida and would not be extended to the whole district as had been planned earlier. Senior health officials said though they had got fresh supply of doses, they were not sufficient to carry out more cluster-based drives.
