TVN24, the former chief of the European Council said that Law and Justice party leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski “has always pretended to be an anti-Russian politician.”
“Probably the EU money and the still pro-European sentiment among PiS voters are the only brakes keeping PiS and Kaczynski from overtly leaving the European Union,” Tusk added.
Tusk touched upon the ongoing dispute between Poland and the EU regarding the functioning of the Supreme Court’s Disciplinary Chamber and the recent ruling by the EU Court of Justice.
“We’re dealing with PiS constantly straining relations between Poland and the EU and its institutions,” he said.
