WORCESTER — Beginning Saturday, fully vaccinated people attending parishes in the Diocese of Worcester are no longer required to wear masks or socially distance.
The updated policy aligns with state guidelines, announced by Gov. Charlie Baker last week, that lift mask and capacity restrictions in Massachusetts.
Every parish advised by the diocese will leave a section of the church available for those who are unvaccinated or who want to continue to stay 6 feet apart from others.
Meantime, parishes will wait until the fall to resume choirs and will not exchange the sign of peace or offer Holy Communion from the chalice, the diocese said.
