this as the trump administration faces a july 26 deadline to reunite the more than 2500 children still in custody. let's go to mariana atencio outside the justice department. you've been looking at some of these families in terms of being reunited and what life is like after that occurs. >>reporter: steve, they teal ll it's a blessing but very hard. keep in mind these families are having to process the asylum requests which is increasingly hard to do. but also, they're having to process the trauma of the separation. especially with these families that have young kids. that's the case of maria, an asylum speaker from the caravan. she was separated for more than 2 months from her 7-year-old and her 2-year-old. and after getting them back, she says she sees real life consequences to the separation. kids don't want to be without
