house doesn't object. so that's where we are. it lays before the white house to see if the white house is going to object. now, we know, we're pretty confident the white house isn't going to object. here are the questions we face right now. will the white house make any changes in it based on a review by the intelligence committee agencies? is it the same thing that the committee originally set up there? and then how does it become public? now this may seem like we're going down into nerdland, but it really is important. if the white house releases it, if the president sort of blesses its release, well, that, in essence, declassifies it. if he doesn't, and he just says "fine with me if you guys release it" and the house makes it public, that doesn't declassify it, it just makes it public. may seem odd. it's classified but public. but it's important because if it's still classified, it ties the hands of the fbi or the other intelligence agencies on how many they can say in resp d responding to it or refuting it
