vip area earlier and they made it out in time. we're very worried about other runners running from newtown to raise money who have not crossed the finish line yet. they were making calls and trying to figure out what happened. other people described seeing smoke and glass coming down. someone told us they saw a runner go down. people just very upset from some bloody -- >> can you detail the injury part that you know so far? we've heard about dozens of people. we've heard about 12 people. gravely injured or seriously injured. can you put some specifics to that as you know it? >> reporter: unfortunately, no. on the inside, i'm on the inside in lockdown so i can't confirm injury reports. all we have now are a couple of eyewitness statements from people who were there and actually injured by some of the glass as it was first happening in the confusion.
