away from that record as he could. interestingly, when he started talking about the middle class, what did he not talk about? the fact that the middle class has suffered more in the last four years of president obama's administration than in the previous 12. that they don't want to talk about. >> tom? >> well, i think it's unfair to say that romney wasn't specific. he was very specific. he said he's going to balance the budget. cut taxes. raise -- protect medicare and preserve all 9 the institutions of the federal government that we need from the fbi to the faa. you can't possibly do all of those things. that was my problem. how does the math add up? so to me, he's still at war with math. and i think that's where "the wall street journal" editorial is quite a positive. how are you going to do these things? i believe this time is different. i think the american people really do want a plan. they want one from romney. they want one from obama.
