given them since 1975. beyond that the lobbyist in the country include the democrats and a powerful republican lobbyist. no matter what egypt does we need them in there. egypt is not the only country in there. but this is the norm of our foreign policy. >> was the implications for foreign policy as the egg cracks before our eyes. >> first we have to see how this plays out. egypt has been a long standing ally on the peace process on things like fight being al qaeda and the global war on terror. they cooperated with us. i think it's high time to revisit all of this because clearly this regime, this government lacks legitimacy in the eyes of hundreds of thousands if not millions of it's own people. again, the obama administration and bush administration and previous administrations have been stuck in this bargain of stability versus freedom and we need to move beyond that.
