and the flooding could last through the weekend. brandi hitt, abc news, tucson. >> unfortunately that storm drenching the southwest will be felt halfway across the country over the next couple of days. >> accuweather meteorologist jim dickey joins us with the national outlook. jim, good morning. good morning. we continue to track what's left of odile making its way north and east. the heaviest of the rain fairly localized. just off to the south and east of tucson headed into the southwestern new mexico. this rain is going to be intense here at times. watch out for significant flooding in these areas. localized amounts, 6 to 10 inches of rainfall not out of the question here as we head on through the day today right into friday. the heavy rain spreads out into the plains. across the northeast, we keep it nice, keep it dry. just a couple of showers and a cold front moves through. that cold front bringing a fresh shot of cool air out of canada, the winds stay light. temperatures really going to fall. looking for widespread frost as we track on through the night through the early morning. reena and dan, back to you. >> thanks, jim. the devastation from the wildfire that tore through the northern california town of weed
