i said, they're going to kill me. they're going to kill me. i'm going to die. >> reporter: investigators believed diallo's story and took strauss-kahn into custody. but as the investigation grew a series of discrepancies emerged that prosecutors say weakened the case, leading them to release strauss-kahn from house arrest. diallo initially said she cowered in the hall as strauss-kahn left. hotel records show she briefly went into another back and into to his suite, something she does not dispute now. prosecutors say she lied about the details of a rape in guinea that helped her to get asylum. >> i have made a mistake.. but that doesn't mean this man -- he tried to rape me. >> reporter: diallo is adamant she was telling the truth about what really happened in that room and she will seek justice. >> i want justice. i want him to go to jail.
