if this happens this aircraft will be completely submerged in a period of nano seconds. the elt needs to talk to satellites. so there is a great likelihood that the elt would have already been submerged in the water. it's unbe able to transmit its signal to the satellites at that point. >> how long does it take, matt, for it to hit the cement or hit the water, how long before an elt if it's operable to send a signal. how much time does it need after it hits the force? >> it is called a g switch. and it does operate instantaneously but it does take some time for that signal to get to the satellite in a matter of a second or two. at that point, that evidence is now starting to sink. it's being obliterated. and starting to head under water. so i wouldn't anticipate any type of elt signal in the event this did crash at 500 miles per hour into the ocean. >> gentlemen, stay with us. we are going to take many more of your viewer questions about flight 370. keep tweeting or sending
