was watching "survivor." what was your input? how did you help make that a hit in. >> well, actually it's way before the show even aired because once it aired, we had everybody in line, jeff, the host, the contestant, we have a great casting department, wonderful producers. it was behind the scenes pre-"survivor," getting -- doing the networking, helping with the creative side of things. >> brian: did you perceive this type of success? did you say, we got something here if because reality was brand-new at that time. >> well, when we were doing eco challenge, which was first aired in 1995, and we did that consecutively for about seven years, i knew mark was on to something. he's an adventurist guy, really smart. he's a great story teller. and that was a hit. that was successful in its own genre. but "survivor," wow, that was just a big surprise. we were really, really happy.
